God of war 167 Report post Posted January 28 Hopefully Jim doesn't shit his pants as usual and install the fear of god into the players...hopefully not the usual goung out not to get pumped!
oaksoft 13,439 Report post Posted January 28 I would sacrifice Brophy for Connolly, go 4-5-1 and otherwise go with the same team. No point in getting humped but also no point in not having a go given it's effectively a free hit.

munoz 8,665 Report post Posted January 28 Another difficult game obviously, but one we can go into with confidence after last. Saints win, 5-1.

shull 31,387 Report post Posted January 28 Last night's performance makes me think that Celtic will not be a problem. Attack Attack Attack Celtic 1 St Mirren 3.
pondsman 462 Report post Posted January 28 Big decision for JG for this game. Does he go with the players who started last night or change things around, bearing in mind we have lots of more important games coming in February? We really need to take points from some of them. The game against Celtic is a free hit, as someone else has pointed out.
shull 31,387 Report post Posted January 28 We should be aiming to catch Aberdeen. Not worrying about anybody below us. Up up and away.

I honestly think this is a chance to get some points though - therefore I’d go same formation and line up as last night with one change, Connolly for Obika as we could use his pace on the counter.

I honestly can't see Jim going for 2 up top against a team like Celtic. Questionable defence or otherwise, if we leave spaces they will destroy us. Very much so But French Eddy is back and King Ned who always scores against us no matter who he plays for Connolly has to stay as sub for me. We seem to get a better reaction from him from there One thing i do hope we are practising set plays because they are murder defending them

Questionable defence or otherwise, if we leave spaces they will destroy us. Then don't leave spaces with a 4-4-2 formation. Celtic's main weakness is their defence, but if we are not attacking that weakness, we are unlikely to score. 4-5-1 has not worked well for us in the past and we have had to rely on a bit of luck along the way to pick up as many points as we have.
StanleySaint 1,367 Report post Posted January 28 Could we see the end of Lenny in the same way Mowbray was disposed of, let's hope so.
Jimmy H 348 Report post Posted January 28 Should have nothing to fear playing this lot on Saturday. Get a positive result then things will be looking rosy. We’ve got 7 league games in February and SIX are at home, top six ( at least ) is a very achievable goal.
