I would only be happy for them to leave the Scottish league if they totally packed up and moved outwith Scotland.  f**k this playing in the English league or a new "European league" while still being based in Scotland.

How comical will they both look when were a independent country 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿  One flying the flag of Ireland and the other flying the flag of England Wales and N. Ireland

But what would that flag be?  The rUK might decide that they need another one - with a dragon on it.

That is outrageous.

It's total BS.

Who the hell sanctioned this?

Someone needs to lose their job over this.

That's it for me and Scottish football.

Oh hang on....

Ur patter is shite!

Shouldn't rump UK (rumpuk) be, until it has decided on a new name, former UK (fUK), until they settle on Greater England?
Yeah, and for an abbreviation they could take the Gre from Greater, the en from England and add land on the end for, eh, well, just because.

Disappointing that the lowland league clubs seem largely to have ignored their fans on this. Selling their integrity for a handful of silver.

Hopefully it is just for the one season & the backlash means it’s closed down going forward.

if it’s not however, clubs in the SPFL must stay firm behind the no to colts fans message and not allow rule changes on them gaining promotion at a future date.

On the positive side, they couldn't get enough interest from the Championship. L1 and L2 to go in at that level and you would imagine that they'll never be allowed promotion because of that.

I also wonder if the Lowland league will now lose the right to have a team promoted into L2 while these two teams are part of their league setup. IMO, that is a very obvious sanction which could be levelled at them to prevent this happening again. It's as though teams simply haven't learned from the Euro Super League fiasco. Not one of them seems to have spoken to their own fans.

It's £25k per club I'm pretty sure.

Correct. Worth every penny to annoy the bigots

If every club was to apply, it simply wouldn't happen unless the lowland league wanted a league of around 29 clubs since they are 17 teams already in the league.

Doubt they would be allowed to cherry pick what colt teams they wanted and didn't want.

The other top flight clubs should get together and reinstate a reserve league. The best way for youth academy graduates to improve is by playing alongside and against older first team professionals who may be coming back from injury.

When Scotland was producing good talent and qualifying on a regular basis in major tournaments we had reserve team football that up and coming players could learn their trade.

Would also like to see something similar to the three foreigner rule (but obviously more modernised) returned in Scottish football.

Often this season, Rangers have fielded no under 38 years old Scottish players in their starting 11, it just shouldn't be allowed. For me we should expand on the home grown rule we used to have but for starting 11s at all clubs not just for clubs to stick youngsters unused on benches.

- 4 players in every SPFL starting 11 must be homegrown (developed at parent club for 3 years before they turned 18 which would make Scotland eligible.)

- From those players, at least 2 must be under the age of 21 at season start.

I think that balance of 4 players vs 7 others wouldn't have a massive impact on quality and any impact should be temporary as clubs are encouraged to re-focus on youth development. It would also need to have additional safeguards on maximum youth squad sizes, to stop teams like Celtic and Rangers buying up 40+ youth players at each younger age level to safeguard for the rule.
