We’re currently 7th in the table

We finished 7th in both 1959 & 1987 🤞

I like those stats!!,  :)

unfortunately, all the shite data you post on the Covid threads makes me hugely sceptical....  :(

I’ll wait till Friday, as usual, to see a indie Sage’s reflections on the match and it’s prognosis.

Brilliant in the end but I never seen that one coming It just goes to show that anything can happen What an amazing finish 😂Can’t believe Tommy Wrights interview, nearly greeting about our penalty What made it all the more pleasing was that wee prick Kilties face, hope he enjoyed giving us the get it up yous after he scored 🤪

Does it matter if it wasn’t a brilliant performance? Not to me.........but I do wish they’d stop putting us thru the wringer

Sweet Dreams Everyone.........even good old Elvis 😉

That’s me just about calmed down.

Thought we started really well and thoroughly deserved to take the lead (albeit a fortunate goal). Then, as we do, we shat it and Killie dominated the rest of the first half and deserved to be in front at half time. We came out second half with a clear game plan to be utter shite and were lucky not to go further behind. Then Jim made the substitutions which had pretty much an immediate impact. Particularly with Quaner doing all the things Erwin isn’t capable of.
By the time the equaliser came, I thought it was totally deserved.
Advantage us.
Then another shot in the arm with Killie going down to 10. We obviously started to dominate but were still taking liberties at the back and although the penalty probably wasn’t one, we were always asking for trouble.
Then the onslaught starts and we eventually get a deserved equaliser, ironically from an equally debatable penalty.

Upsides - Never say die attitude. Dominated large parts of the game. Good individual performances from Tait, Henderson, Quaner. Penalty masterclass.

Downsides - Defensively awful, keep shitting our pants after we score. Some very poor individual performances namely, Erwin, Dennis, Durmus, McGrath.

Finally, happy for Shaughnessy to take some captain fantastic plaudits, but he was still a bombscare at the back at times. Was at fault for the second goal and had to work hard to remedy his own f**k up later on which could easily have lead to a penalty.

All that said, I’m f**king thrilled!

Uch in fairness - @elvis is a buddie but has seen the low times. Either way I’m sure he’s as delighted as you and i in that we have made another semi.

proud we came through that. Screw the league now - we are safe of relegation and into the cup semi. Bring on Europe and top 6 and the rest is a distant memory haha (we can but dream).

Whilst i agree Panda most on here have seen the lows of the early 70s then most of the 90s and then 2015..2016 . But these are the much better times and still our Elvis sounds like a broken neg record... maybe its how he attracted his stunning wife 😄 Any way enough i am happy like 99.9% of all Saints fans tonight... so bring it on

I bailed out of the forum to "watch" the last 15 of ET and penalties.

If we ever needed reminding what value a decent keeper means it was evident last night.

The Killie keeper is a plank, the stunning howler for our first goal and between him and the Killie defender for our penalty.

Is he the same keeper that back peddled the ball into the net for our equaliser when we played them earlier in the season?

When it went to penalties all we had to do was hit the target, he fell over to his right for the first four then done a similar half arsed attempt for the 5th.

Overall, a decent performance, the first part of the first half and latter part of the second half were more than decent.

The usual worrying lapses in between, what exactly happens in these periods is baffling, but fairly consistent.

Goodwin deserves credit when taking off our two strikers, despite the usual melt down on here, as it worked a treat.

Anyhow, the result was the most important thing.

Did I want St Johnstone in the semi's, a definite no, Dundee United would have been my choice but we are there.

Surely there could be some fans allowed in for the semi's, there's been successful test events already in England, get it sorted wee Nicky.

The one common factor in these goalkeeping howlers is that Billy Thomson is the Killie goalkeeping coach. 😂

Cheers Slash, you've brought it all back for me. That recurring nightmare.

Scottish Cup semi-final replay.

Dens Park.

Standing right behind the goal.

Pishing down all day.

Billy Thomson.

Cup final dream shattered.

I thought you said you had no tv license earlier this year. You seemed quite proud of the fact. My apologies.

Not me bud.

We went many years without one but since they started asking for one to use iPlayer a couple of years ago we've bought one.

I don't watch live TV apart from the odd game like last night and haven't done since 2007.

This covers just about everything I wanted to say about the game. Only one other question - why did JG wait so long before getting Quaner on? I still don't see what JG sees in Erwin, but it was clear from early on last night that he wasn't at the races.

Aside from another semifinal best thing for me about last night is how good Jay Henderson is, plays like someone with years of experience rather than someone in I think only his second start, looks like the player Kyle used to be instead of how he is now, still with flashes of his old self but not as consistent.

I can only think he’s not quite 100% fit yet.
But as soon as he’s up to it, he needs to replace Erwin as a starter.

I think If Erwin had a bit of confidence he would be a decent player for us, he has the occasional clever touch, but we don’t have the luxury of playing a player who can only play the odd nice touch while giving it away the rest of the time.. He needs replaced, big Collin looks good but he must be taking tips on jumping from Obeka as he’s gash at that for a big guy.

Agree with that fitness thing. I really hope we can offer him at least a 1 year deal. Not sure who posted it last night about how his passing etc is far better but that's cos he has played at a higher level. Very similar in respect of Carlisle utd around time 06/07 season I think when they signed Michael Bridges. A player who's career had been hampered by injuries quite literally put 1k on gates which no doubt helped cover wages. It took rest of team a few games to get used to his thinking with lay offs, etc. When they did there was no stopping them.

Same could happen to us, Quaner imo worth pushing boat out for and won't be a mistake like Archibald or Galloway.

There were few options. Quaner isn't fit enough for 90 mins yet and to be fair Erwin did OK at Dingwall midweek.

Erwin did OK for the first 15 mins or so then like many in the team fell away with very few winning their individual battles although I thought JDH had a fine game especially when he moved further forward when Ethan came on. I would give Jake a more forward role in the remaining games and play Ethan as the sitting defender.
