Gus MacPherson used to do it too.

Also, surely you've seen fans of other teams on P&B moaning about particular players getting games when it would appear that there are "better" players on the bench?

Gus regressed as a manager as time went on, preferring to sign a host of central midfielders and playing them in multiple roles because he didn’t have specialists for key roles

it became almost unbearable to watch in the end

I must be one of the few people who really rated Cammy, and I believe he will be a top midfielder and will defo get into the St Johnstone team. Thankfully he cant play against us this season. Next season he probably wont have to.... He was never given a decent run in the team. A centre half was used in midfield on Saturday ahead of him !! And this when other midfielders were out suspended etc....... When that happens you know your time is up. Really not best pleased with JG right now. Saturday was shocking......6 at the back and long punts up the park..... Going to be a long season. 10th is looking a tough shout never mind top 6. And I normally an optimist lol😄

Cammy gave 100%. Promising player who scored some great goals. But..The manager picks his players. He stands or falls on the results he gets. Last years weren’t bad! Good luck to Cammy and good luck to our new midfielder.

But....... last year Cammy played in 28 league games in a so called good season

Couldn’t agree less
good performers don’t become bad for no reason
the coaching and tactics play a big part
maybe Cammy  would have found more favour if he was Irish or a Goodwin signing

Whit, Xenophobia now. Get a grip.

Xenophobia my arse, you get a grip.  i am delighted with the players who do well.  Goodwin is, or seems to be, someone who prefers his own signings over players who were at the club before he took over and he seems to be focused on Irish players over home-grown talent from our own academy.

Accusations that JG is favouring Irish players or his own signings are wide of the mark. We are discussing one player in particular here - Cammy MacPherson.

For some reason or other JG doesn't fancy Cammy and doesn't see him as a major player for us, while many of us disagree with the manager and would have him playing regularly.

Cammy had a good season last year and I expected him to improve again this season and be a major player for us. However, JG is the manager and he decides the players and the tactics, but the style of play and the results so far suggest that he hasn't got things right yet. That may change, and we all hope that it does.

The fact that Cammy is clearly rated by a successful Premiership manager (Callum Davidson) makes it clear that opinions on him are divided. It remains to be seen whether Davidson can get something out of Cammy that JG couldn't. I'm sure that we will all be watching his progress at St. Johnstone with great interest and are all glad that he can't play against. us.

There is also clearly a question for whoever it was at the club who allowed Cammy to go to Perth and play for one of our closest rivals. Even if he can't play in games against us, he might still play a big part in any success they have this season. If that happens, the club will certainly have egg on its face.

If true, then lets hope It's all against both Dundee clubs, Livingstone, Ross county etc.

If they play him regularly, he could come back to us a far better player in January.( The Buddies will have the option to recall the midfielder in January and he will be unable to play against St Mirren.)

Cammy was with St Johnstone growing up. He left and joined Harmony Row where his dad was a coach IIRC.

Good luck to the lad. Personally I’d rather have Cammy playing ahead of Erhahon and Power.

Power will be on high wages in comparison to Cammy, so JG will feel obliged to play him instead.

This decision could come back and bite him on the arse.

Erhahon moves slow, slow in tackle, slow in movement...everything that boy had IMO has been coached from him, plays like a robot...i think he offers nothing.

It might weaken them more if he stays there

Don't think the Fakes fans have been very impressed with him so far.

Fakes haven’t been impressed by anyone so far to be fair. After last seasons highs it was always going to be a bit of an anti climax for them ….. just don’t think they expected it to be this bad , so easy to blame the. “Interloper “

Cammy or Kiltie …. Hmmm 🤔

No point in bringing him back unless he going to gets game time.

Since Goodwin let him go, i don't think he will want him back.

Reckon his time with us is up unless the Fakes are allowed to send him back,

In saying that, he might do a good job for us next season in the championship

St Johnstone are one of few teams doing worse than us and even then I think he's struggled to get a regular game. A massively frustrating player for me, few moments of brilliance but mainly smashing footballs over the bar trying to recreate that one time he scored from 30 yards.

What does it matter that St.J are doing worse than us ?

Killie done a lot worse than us last season, didn’t stop us signing three of the players who helped relegate them 🤷‍♂️
