Sweeper07
Not sure this merits a new topic but could not find somewhere to put it. The latest Scotland u21 squad announced today with no St. Mirren players in it.... that's sad.... Wondering if Erhahon would have been there barring injury? Reid not there yet? Hope we are developing a good few for the future... we have done so in the past.
Cumbriansaint72
Having looked at the under21 squad, there are quite a few on loan deals from SPL/EPL clubs. The issue with this is they may look good at the clubs they are on loan to but may not really have a future at parent club and then will be lost to the full national team due to not playing and developing at the highest level. I think we have got it right, playing younger players like Dylan Reid for a bit but then not burn them out and aid development for future. Cumbriansaint72
Just when I was finishing previous post an ex loan player for us came to mind. Billy O'brien who we signed from man City, looked a decent keeper in the making but by 2018 out of the game altogether.
