These awards are always a farce. It's like an organisation I used to work where workplace bullying was endemic yet they got "investors in people" status.

Nonsense.

Plenty of people/companies who have worked very hard receive this type of award on merit.

Whether this one is or not, is another matter.

Absolutely, total farce. Get loads of people to vote for your organisation or yourself and you can win the award if the others up for the awards think they just need to put their name forward and wait to see who wins, meanwhile you set about wining and dining the selection committee.

I see the dome is down again.

Looking at the area around it ,it is possible to build a full size inside football pitch with changing rooms similar to the coveted one in Toryglen ,this would be a great addition to the club ,the town, and the community (most deprived  area in Scotland)It could be used for multiple  sports and events.

This would be a good project for Kibble to commit to the area  and run as a community venture.

The Dome has been down since end of November when it was damaged during storm Arwen but it was inflated today as they begin repairs . The dome is in its last stages of life and is increasingly relying on creative repairs to keep it going, these things do have a finite lifespan .

As for building a full sized pitch ? I’m sure it would be a great facility but it would take a great deal of investment to do that, not sure where the money is coming from. Also not quite as simple as covering the existing tarmac with astroturf and getting a full size Airdome over it, would take a fair bit of civil engineering and construction to accomplish that- not to mention the lost car park spaces.

As a regular user of the dome , id love to see something of that nature but we have to be realistic. At best , replace the Dome with like for like, option 2 would be 7s pitch outdoor exposed to the elements .

Hearing it was apparently Kibble employees at the training ground this week that have spread Covid.

One of their senior employees was seen briefing Curtis Main on where the goals are generally kept on a football field. Rumour has it, the same group of Kibble employees then travelled back in time to October 2019 Wuhan, where they chilled out at the famous Wet Markets, enjoying a treat of deep fried bat and pangolin smoothies.

Quite witty for you!

You might have added in something about the personal property going missing to give the plot more depth and a twist though! [emoji23][emoji12]

So are you saying that the Kibble should spend almost half of their “spare cash” as you put it on installing a full size artificial pitch and dome at St.Mirren park ? 😳

From their point of view …….. Why ? 🤷‍♂️

Read the whole thing ,a full covered area that that can be used for all manner of sports and community  functions.

Kibble are a not for profit organisation  so should not in theory have any spare cash ,it should all be spent on their projects to help disadvantaged  children and young adults ,some of their underspend could go here. Why not ?

Couple of things ,

why would an organisation like the Kibble spend well over a million pounds ( possibly nearer 2mill ) to build a facility on a site where they only have just over a quarter ownership ?

Any charitable foundation must keep a “Rainy day fund “ for working capital and unforeseen expenditure . I would say 8% of their total income is not unreasonable - in fact , it could be looked on as low, many charities carry enough to cover three months or more operating costs .

It could be their facility or they could refurbish their go cart facility that shut down after spending over £1m on it.

Kibble struggle year on year out to spend their income, despite paying a large amount to a very large body of supervising  staff .

Ave £35m income to supervise 100 disadvantaged  kids!!! Must be room for the club to get them to invest in the most deprived  area of Paisley.

Well again , some salient points to consider.

1 . They can’t build a facility on land they don’t own .

2. The karting track at Hillington is nowhere near big enough to accommodate the full size pitch you are suggesting - nowhere near it !!
3. The building the track was in has a very low roof - no use for a football facility - possibly fives at a stretch as long as it’s “Nae above heid height “

4 . How would building or converting a facility in Hillington as you are suggesting benefit Ferguslie park ? 🤷‍♂️

you’ve not thought this through have you ?

1 .

of course they can ,if the owners allow it ,and they are one of the owners of the club.

2  they can extend it !

3  you are correct it would not directing help Ferguslie park but it could still work with the community in Paisley to use it for any purpose.

But ideally it would be the option of replacing the current dome with a new permanent  structure to help the club and local community.

If  we don t try , we dont get
