The END, for now, of watching games in the uk.

Suppose I'll just have to go abroad every Saturday.

PPV and Streaming
We have received a number of queries regarding the live streaming of League matches in the UK & Ireland this season.
The live streaming of League matches in the UK & Ireland is not currently permitted in Season 2022/23.
Supporters will recall that streaming was introduced (with the consent of Sky Sports) to allow supporters to watch matches when they were not able to attend in person due to Government restrictions for the pandemic.
That clearly is not the case anymore. However, the SPFL recognise this has been a valuable income stream for clubs and they are continuing discussions with Sky.
It is clear that, as already advised, (a) blocked hours will be in place this season (meaning no streaming from 2.45pm to 5.15pm on Saturdays); and (b) virtual season tickets will not be permitted.
Unfortunately this means we will only be able to offer Arbroath FC TV this season to overseas supporters.
Thank you

Watched most of the Ayr v Arbroath today, Ayr were certainly the more dangerous and only the Arbroath goalie kept them in it.

Arbroath looked better in the 2nd half and, despite having a man sent off in 80 minutes, were good enough for a draw.

A clean sheet and a decent point, although draws were their nemesis last season.

brilliant!

Morten only sold 1000 last season. I wonder how many Inverness, Hamilton, Ayr, Queens Park and Raith Rovers will sell.

In the top flight I wonder how many Ross County and Livingston have sold.

Dundee 4 - 2 Arbroath
Our 6 match unbeaten start to the season came to an end tonight as we lost out at the death to Dundee.
In front of a huge travelling support of 704 Lichties, we made a really bright start and almost took the lead with Dundee making a goal line clearance, but just before the break Dundee pounced on the counter attack as Arbroath lost possession on the edge of the Dundee box.
Dundee raced down the pitch and Paul McGowan found Luke McCowan who fired Dundee into the half time lead.
However the Lichties came roading back into the game 51st minute as Harrison Sharp fouled Michael McKenna. The Dundee keeper lucky to only be shown a yellow card, and Nicky Low showed great composure to net from 12 yards to draw the Lichties level.
Dundee went ahead again in the 64th minute, as Arbroath looked for a foul on Thomas O'Brien at the back post, the ball stayed in possession and Zak Rudden netted from close range.
Arbroath made a string of substitutes and started to get down the left wing through Bobby Linn and it was Linn whose corner kick was bundled in by Colin Hamilton in the 81st minute.
With 5 minutes remaining a cross from the right looked to give Arbroath the perfect opportunity but Dale Hilson just couldn't get enough on it.
Arbroath were to pay the price as after losing possession, Dundee broke and Zach Robinson netted with a header, before another Arbroath mistake allowed Josh Mulligan to score in injury time to make it 4-2.
A tough lesson for the Lichties, but another resilient performance. It's hard for the players who all worked today to then come up against full time players on a Friday night, but we pushed Dundee all the way and will be ready for next Saturday.
Thank you for your support, C'mon the Lichties.

Scott Allan

Arbroath FC are thrilled to announce the signing of 30-year-old creative midfielder Scott Allan on a two-year deal.
Scott is a naturally gifted footballer whose creativity, work-rate and personality have seen him become a fan favourite at every club he has played for and well known in the Scottish Top Flight
Having joined Dundee United at just 10-years-old in 2001, it was Dick Campbell who took Scott on an emergency loan to Forfar Athletic in 2010, before Scott made the move down south signing for West Bromwich Albion.
Not only has Scott played Club Football but represented his country at both U17 and U21 level.
Scott returned to Scotland and signed for Hibernian in the 2014 season. Scott would go on to have three separate spells with Hibernian playing 129 games, scoring 17 goals and making 39 assists for the Hibees.
In his first spell with Hibernian, Scott was named Scottish Championship’s PFA Player of the Year, with 17 assists, 2 goals and helping Hibernian finish second in the Championship.
His outstanding season seen Celtic swoop for his signature and whilst at Parkhead, Scott also had lots at Rotherham United and Dundee before joining Hibernian again, this time on loan in 2018 before making the move permanent at the start of the 2019/20 season.
Four goals and three assists in his first 7 games of the season, and Scott didn’t stop with two for Martin Boyle in the Boxing Day Edinburgh Derby at Tynecastle. As the pandemic hit, Scott had made 40 appearances and scored 10 goals in the 2019/2020 season.
Having been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes after joining Dundee United, Scott has never let it get in his way and is a proud ambassador for Diabetes UK.
Last season Scott played 23 games for Hibernian, before departing Easter Road in the summer.
We are absolutely thrilled to have such a gifted, experienced footballer join our Club, and with a work ethic which matches that of our own team, we are delighted to welcome Scott to Gayfield.

Arbroath FC Chairman Mike Caird said “Having had offers from both North and South of the border Scott has decided his future lies at Gayfield and this is a signing that we hope will capture the imagination of our supporters and show a real sign of intent as a Club.

We were keen to sign Scott on loan back in January, so I’m delighted we have been able to capture him now on a 2 year permanent deal to compliment our already experienced squad of talented players.”
Scott will wear the Number 23 Shirt at Gayfield and If you would like to sponsor Scott's Home, Away or Third Kit for this season please email [email protected] it will be on a first come, first served basis.
Give Scott a warm welcome to Gayfield and be there on Saturday - Tickets can be purchased here https://www.arbroathfc.co.uk/match-day-tickets/
Welcome to the Club Scott!
C’mon the Lichties!

Interesting move. Is it the right one? Time will tell. Good player.

A strange move for Scott Allan but I suspect he was a bit too much of a gamble for a full time club to take on. I personally would have welcomed him to Saints but his medical history probably played a large part in where he's ended up. No offence to Arbroath but this smacks of last resort for a player of Allan's doubtless ability.

I agree. As long as the experts say his medical condition wouldn't be adversely impacted by him playing.
