Just over 2,200 in attendance, with approx 80 traveling from Stenhousemuir. Hospitality was packed and, as per usual, was great value. Had quite a chat with the chairman after the game, he speaks highly of us and is very grateful for the loanees. He can't, obviously, comment on next season but he'd love to have at least one, a lot depends on what happens close season. After the dreadful start to the season, 3 points from the first SIX games, it's astounding that Arbroath are League Champions with 3 games to play. The current management team, Gold and Hamilton, deserves great credit. They came up to hospitality after the game and spoke at length about the supporters and the directors for believing in them. Next season's a massive challenge, part time doesn't make things easier. All turning a bit sour with boardroom bust ups. The fans are, rightly, up in arms an Arbroath man through and through has been back stabbed and a new, relatively unknown, has jumped into pole position. Looks like it could slightly take the edge of the presentation day tomorrow against QOS. Hospitality will be interesting. 🙄 Edited May 2, 2025 by faraway saint Quote

Looks like the current chairman is still in place, for now. No mention of the much loved, and respected, vice chairman which is still causing considerable anger and speculation. Quote
faraway saint Posted May 3, 2025 Report Posted May 3, 2025 Trophy Day at Gayfield today. I'm hopeful the boardroom carry on doesn't take the shine off a brilliant season. Daughter and granddaughter have their tickets so I'm sure I'll get regular updates. Quote

Arbroath 1-1 QOS, an astounding attendance of over 2,300. 👏👏👏 Quote
faraway saint Posted May 4, 2025 Report Posted May 4, 2025 Unfortunately Fraser Taylor, despite plenty of support, didn't win an award at Arbroath end of season award night last night. Still, great experiences for him and next season is a big season for him with us as he's got to prove he can handle life in the top league. Quote
faraway saint Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 So, Arbroath, after getting promotion last season are sitting proudly in the play off places of the Championship. 2 games remaining, and couldn't be much more difficult. This Saturday at home to Partick. Thistle are safe in 2nd place so they might well rest some of their players but it'll still be a tough game for Arbroath. Then it's onto the last game and it's away to Dunfermline. There's a slight advantage if they finish 3rd with the 2nd play off game against Dunfermline at Gayfield. IF they get through that then it's Thistle home and away. After that..........................well, who knows. Quote

I've totally written off Raith but they are still in with a shout of catching Dunfermline as they are only 5 points behind them with 2 games to go and, even better, they both play tonight. A Raith win and a point for Arbroath at Partick tomorrow guarantees 3rd spot. C'mon Raith. Quote

My daughter and granddaughter have booked their place on a supporters bus for this game which will be a tense affair. Quote

I'm sure he'll get a great reception. 👏👏👏 Quote
faraway saint Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 Just been reading that if Arbroath hold onto 3rd place, a draw or a win on Friday night, it's an EXTRA £100K in prize money added to being at home in the 2nd leg if the okay if against Dunfermline. Approx £500k + for 3rd place. Quote

Either way, just above or below half a million is serious money for Arbroath, not to mention anything they get from the play off games, assuming these are out with the normal league cash. Quote
HSS Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 What a laugh it would be if the Mighty Ton were to get automatic relegation A Ross County win by 2 goals and any win for Airdrie would put them down https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c0j2wey3112oto Quote
faraway saint Posted May 5 Report Posted May 5 Play off first leg tonight Dunfermiline v Arbroath. C'mon Arbroath. Quote
