Scott-Leeds
Thankfully our season will never be defined by results against Celtic/SevcoSadly I’ve come to expect nothing from these games despite other teams certainly at least giving it a go against themI don’t mind missing top six either I’m more concerned about 8 defeats in 9 ? We seem to have completely lost our wayI don’t believe we will finish lower than 10th probably 8th is my guess
exiledfan
I thought Grieve and Main made a difference. I would start them in the next game to try something different.
W6er
Disappointing, but always will be difficult against a side whose players earn 14x ours. I expect nothing from these games... Did anyone see the banner unveiled in front of W5? I think it said 'Renfrewshire United'. What was that about?

I'm not saying we didn't have failings cos we did but we were difficult to break down and they had the ability to grind out points AND play collectively as a team. The big thing today was big Joe's demeanour, not the rampaging captain as before. Maybe he has been told he doesn't figure after this season. Terrible central defence/ goalkeeper combination for the first two goals. Balls down the wings then catching us out. Hurts me to say it but a lovely goal by Aribo. We’ll beaten. Now our league begins in earnest.

Maboza
You’ve got to love the folk that think we were going to finish 4th under Goodwin and also giving pats on the back to the team for beating Ayr and Kelly to get to a QF! Clearly can’t remember pre-Christmas, and certainly can’t remember back to shiting the bed from pole position for top 6 last year, and 2 semi finals against bog standard opposition. Dare
Good to see that our game plan worked well today - sit off them and let them take the piss ……… worked an absolute treat. Contrast previous home game v Rangers and today. Night and day - might not win these games but let’s compete ffs ! Alarming at how much we have regressed since Robinson came in. To be fair to that was always Jim's game plan to make us hard to beat, unfortunately we were beat far to often and when we had to go out and win games we couldn't... 2 semi finals and just like last year against Livingston when we finished the game with no strikers on the park trying to hold on to a 1 goal lead

I think you’re a tad mistaken. We went 8 games undefeated. 2/8 were wins against lower league clubs. 2/8 were draws. The reason the number 11 might be in your head is because that’s how many games we played without winning, pre-christmas. We were never a good side. Goodwin got talked up last season when he got a decent run and a lots of things went in his favour around the Rangers cup win. Same again happed this seasons and the long, turgid spells were quickly forgotten. He left when his stock was high because he didn’t fancy his chances of delivering top 6, just like his failure last year.

Every game under Goodwin was a bloody hard watch. We are nowhere near the side we were last season. I feel sorry for Robinson at what he inherited and where he wants to be. Get over this season somhow and then root and branch clearout over 2-3 windows. Lets just sit back and watch how Goodwin does at Aberdeen !! portmahomack saint
If Robinson takes us down he has to go. If we survive I think he will get the chance to build his own team, we've made our bed or rather the board have choosing him so strap yourself in this could get very scary... Personally I've just never felt he was the right fit for us just don't feel it with him.. Had the same feeling with Oran Kearney Alan Stubbs Alex Rae Ian Murray and Davy Hay back in the day... Of the candidates that were mentioned my only choice was Jack Ross he said no I believe my next choice would have been Stephen McGinn with a experienced coach like Danny Lennon to help him out

Ethan
Binning Robinson now would be a gamble and who would want the job knowing they could be the man to take us down and have that on their C.V. The squad prior to Christmas was just as bad as it is now. Robinson was spot on we not good enough in areas and there needs to be an overhaul. I want him to get us through and survive this season. I dont believe we will see the best of him until he has his own team. The job he did at Motherwell was a good one and he can get a team playing. He has made mistakes coming in no doubt about it but Goodwin is hardly doing great at the sheep
DougJamie
We had a go 4 down ...what does that tell us... a wee Brophy upfront against 4 giants.... we marked shadows... no hard tackles and not much pressing... we lose a goal right at start of game and then even worse added time 1st half.. sevco had half their team missing and off back of gruelling away in Europe.... i dont mind losing if there is effort but that again was piss poor

Keeping a sense of perspective is difficult after sitting 4th in the table during a match only recently. Jim was popular as a player and as a manager. Overall, I enjoyed the connection he engendered with fans and players. Last season gave us hope for progress into the top six and despite the disappointment, we just missed out. Jim’s strategy was to have a smaller first team squad but pay higher wages. Ronan, Alnwick and at the time McGrath were worth it. But we couldn’t score and the draws piled up alongside a few heavy defeats to leave us with a poor goal difference. Jim also agreed the contracts of the 11 players which finish in the summer. We were always going to have a major rebuilding job. Better that the new man is here. He likes a high tempo pressing style and we don’t have players who can sustain that throughout a game. Difficult but still possible to finish 7th but also still possible to be relegated. Exciting/Worrying/Changing times at St Mirren Park. He never left for that reason. At least tripled his wage. Massive increase in playing budget which in turn should see him competing for major trophies and European football. Bigger profile club on his path towards his dream of managing his national side. None of us in his position would have turned down that job.
