Rascal
Being retired I don’t have experience of this. Is mobile phone use whilst working allowed by employers or is their use restricted in the contract of employment? Surely their use during working time would be restricted to breaks or domestic emergencies. As I understand it they would be considered likely to have a negative impact on productivity. What’s the story here? Do you use your mobile for personal reasons during work time? If so… to do what?

I see you are a fan of the 4 day week. Never experienced that either. Edited April 27, 2022 by Rascal
StanleySaint
Most organisations have a mobile phone and internet/social media policy, some insist on phones being put in lockers during working hours, others like ours have a more relaxed interpretation of the policy but still requiring a personal responsibility to its use. Thanks SS. Must be more difficult to enforce when people are working remotely or from home. Personal responsibility sounds right to me. Eric Arthur Blair
Dozens of MPs on their phones today during PMQs. One Tory MP has been caught watching porn on his phone in the chamber.

The story appears to be that a male MP was observed looking at what has been described as pornography in the House of Commons. I don’t know whether he sits on the government or opposition benches. Whats the chances. As much as I think he is stupid there are few things to consider. Porn isn't illegal. So if he was doing his shopping at Tesco on line in commons is this a sacking? I would argue he is misusing tax payer money and breaking down trust of his employer but in eyes of a disciplinary process a final warning would suffice to correct his behaviour. If we all were saying we haven't done a bit of faffing on company time we would be lying and all be up for a disciplinary hearing. Matt Hancock was having intimate times with his aid in lock down and never stood down. Is this worse than porn popping up on his phone?
