A neighbour of mine owns a large house at Gleneagles which they rent out normally at around £2,850 a month. It will be booked but for far more than that! faraway saint
I see the players are, as I thought, murdering the Old Course. Without wind/rain it's defenceless against the modern golfer who will simply out hit any bunkers etc. I was discussing this the other day with a golfing mate, he predicted -14 would win, I suggested that would be after two days. -20 or more with the weather staying mild and calm. I happen to disagree that a tournament like this should have been allowed to go to Sky, but, as usual, their coverage is top class. Leader sitting at -8 with McIlroy at -6 and a bunch at -5 to -3. Rascal
Great to see such good scoring. The Old Course is not a beast like Carnoustie or Muirfield but can still bite back if the wind blows.
faraway saint
I see Ian Poulter, who has joined the "Greedy B'strd Tour" was boo'd when teeing off.
Rascal
Overnight rain may have softened the greens. Will be interesting to see if that changes the way players play each hole. Will the ball see more air?

faraway saint
Wee Rory makes a move, chips in at the 10th for an eagle and goes to the top of the leader board.
Tommy
Was looking to watch some golf in the pubs of Renfrew today, but sadly all the bar i visited had the blue bigots game on and 1 only had STV Think i will throw a wee bet on my namesake tomorrow to win 😊
faraway saint
So the final day, seen a stat that the winner has been within 4 shots going into the final day so looking like it'll be one of these guys. My bet is just outside this group, maybe he'll buck the trend. Edited July 17, 2022 by faraway saint
Rascal
It should be a captivating final day and looks like there needs to be another 4 or 5 under round by the leaders to ensure that those just behind have to shoot 8 or 9 under to get into contention. Then again if the leaders slip back 2 or 3 shots it could be a very open final day.
