StanleySaint Posted February 11, 2023 Report Share Posted February 11, 2023 As if it needed confirming this highlights the need for a top six finish, we don't have the budget to get enough of the quality personnel to be able to compete to win for a full 90 mins in every one of these games. We were unfortunate to go down to 10 and didn't expect anything other than a defeat once we did but the scoreline only reflects the quality to kill off games in that position and isn't a reflection of the game as a whole. Have not seen penalty on TV but if it was obvious why did the referee not give if? It took three minutes for VAR to decide to ask the referee to look at it then a further minute and a half for him to decide it was a penalty. As I say I have no idea if it was a penalty or not but with it taking that amount of time to decide it would suggest it wAs not a red card. Carter Vickers should have been off at 1-0 when he hauled Mane back just outside the penalty box. IF it was a penalty, and it was hard to tell at the game, then how can they say it was deliberate hand ball after taking so long to ascertain it was such? FCUK VAR! We went toe to toe with Celtic for 75 minutes. Such a shame we ended up with such a disparaging score against us. If we can play like that for most of the rest of the season ( without certain officials in charge) then there is no reason why we can finish in our best league position for a long long time.
