Offski on trip No4 today, up towards Blairgowrie.

Weather's to be mixed but we don't let that bother us.

Friends from Paisley already up that way so a wee get together today is planned. 👍

Brilliant, enjoy and hope the weather is kind ☀️🙏

A bit of advice from motorhome owners/hirers. How did you find the driving compared to the car? I drive a Ford custom for work but nothing bigger. And did the other half feel comfortable assisting? I've been trying to convince her for a while to invest but she's a bit averse to the idea.

As you may have read I'm just back from Germany driving a left hand drive Camper on the right hand carriageway..... honestly Buddy, if I can do it anyone can. The one we had was just under 30 feet so probably more akin to a small truck than a van but once you work out where your angles and corners are it's pretty straightforward, other half really enjoyed it too

Why not hire one for a few days, don't tell her just surprise her, and see how you get on. Nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that, we had a blast and will definitely do something similar again.

It's surprisingly easy although you have to get used to driving slower than normal, especially approaching corners.

Mrs Faraway has been, overall, pretty relaxed but at times she reacts as though we're on a roller coaster.

I'm sure you'd be fine but I'd suggest you don't go far on your first trip.

Arrived in Alyth after an easy 50 min drive.

Roads were quiet and the site was easy to find.

Cracking wee site, one of the smallest sites we've used but lovely and peaceful with the added bonus of no children. 😂

Friends arrival iminant, not seen them for a while, looking forward to an afternoon of laughs.

Lovely morning, still a tad breezy but more than decent.

Nice day yesterday with our friends from Paisley, few drinks, half decent, if overpriced, meal and plenty of laughs.

Not a lot planned today, dog walking and chilling.

Home after trip No4, not too far but a great wee site at Alyth.

We're fast discovering smaller, quieter sites are our preferred choice.

Child free, has the amenities we need TV reception, WIFI, clean and sufficient toilet/shower facilities and nice views.

A decent, if overpriced, wee pub next door was utilised on Saturday when our friends arrived and we walked the dogs for miles.

Definitely a 9/10 from us.

Have you had a shite in your van yet? 🚐💩

No yet, that would only happen when we're off grid, and that'll be next year.

Emptying the cassette is much less "yuk" than  I thought so not really worried as it's all tightly sealed.

This Friday we're off on a 5 day trip split between Blair Atholl and Pitlochry.

Daughter and granddaughter coming up to Pitlochry on the Monday as we're going to the excellent Enchanted Forest.

Our battery problem seems to be under control as I unhook one of the terminals thus stopping the loss of power. Gave it a turnover today, roared into life first turn.

This will be our 5th trip and, overall, the weather has been disappointing.

Hopefully next year we get luckier. 🙄

Almost ready to go.

Done all the checks, starting to become second nature now.

Nope into the garage, top up the diesel then we're on our way.

As luck would have it it's just started raining, albeit lightly.

First rain in well over a week, lucky white Heather.

Blair Atholl here we come.

Looks very pleasant 👍

It's probably my favourite so far. Lots of space, they could easily be greedy and use the grass areas for more pitches but haven't and even in an overcast day the scenery is stunning.

The toilet/shower block, 50 years from our pitch, is immaculate.

Yeah, so far, the winner.

So, after a very pleasant few day at Blair Castle it's definitely the best we've used so far.

Well laid out, plenty of space between the pitches, toilets and shower block were spotless with plenty of hot water. (Not the case when we were through in Fife a few months ago)

Well stocked shop, although no cheap.

Wonderful views, good signal for our phones which we used to power the Firestick if required, TV signal was also good.

Great dog walks.

Faultless for us.

Just arrived here in Pitlochry, Milton of Fonab site.

Pitches are very close, you're feart to look out in case you find yourself peering Into your neighbours vehicle.

Cracking views, WiFi also good and TV signal loud and clear.

Apart from being a bit cramped all good so far.

Well, rain of biblical proportions, has been hammering down for the last 2 hours.

I'll be taking the dogs out soon, I might need my waterwings.

Even the TV signal has been struggling.

That apart, nice and cozy so things could be worse.

Short journey today along to Monifieth.

Right on the beach so anticipating a strong breeze but the forecast is to be dry so we'll cope.

This'll be the last trip this year.

It's been a learning curve as there are lots to remember when using the motorhome but, so far, we've not had any major issues.

Looking at getting the ferry over to Ireland next year, never been although a long weekend in Dublin could count but as it was shit I tend not to see that as a real visit.
