Not condoning what May or may not have happened but don’t we all apply double standards to footballers?

in any other walk of life, get in to a fracas, tell boss Monday morning but still be expected to work. If it goes further and court, your company may step in.

still with fiscal, might come to nothing

all afternoon the venom coming from the terracing against vasellls was continuous  but now we criticise Rooney  fir doing what everybody was screaming fir all day  he was foolish but at that moment 5000 all cheered him

dont think Gogic got the “steel” all over the park, fine in defence  Rooney gave us a bit of bite in mid field alongside BM and our captain who are “good “ guys

just feel the guy has had a bit of a raw deal and many others, including the Clud, applying double standards to him

but then it’s forum and double standards all over the place is the norm

The club chairman was charged with assault on a  female and is deemed fit for employment by saints. The case never got tried  although a date for trial was set

with this in mind, if Shaun is either found not guilty or if the case doesn’t go to court, are we all agreed that we should be consistent and offer him his job back?

So guy at work knows Rooney well from his Caley days.... this is all to do with his beloved Celtic and being wound up by Gers fans on night out  and he reacted....he can go join his beloved team with my blessings

Is it even possible for a Rangers fan to wound up a Celtic fan.. there clubs an absolute basket case..

Was there not reported that there was a 'hate crime' element to the incident, just seems coincidental that the statement comes as we reaffirm our Show racism the red card support.

It's a big leap to link those things.  The red card initiative is planned months in advance and not all hate crime is racial in nature.

If you think it's mad in here have a look at P&B, verging on a lynching.

He is pleading not guilty, so i hope he has a good case.  I hoped it would have been over by Christmas for him to allow him to move on in his career but I guess the "hate crime" appended to the charge has upped the stakes a fair bit.  Could it be that if they can't prove the "aggravated by sexual prejudice" part then the whole case collapses?  For the level of offence, there was maybe an opportunity for the Police or Fiscal to simply issue a warning or warning with fine so he will have been hard done by if the prosecution fails.

Just have to wait for April to see, which effectively writes off almost a full season for him.

Apparently social media went into overdrive whenever he hit the city centre because of his profile and obvious Celtic leanings, so maybe he should have known better than that anyway.  Glasgow at night is no place for any footballer who is associated with either half of the old firm, even if they never played for them

signed a short term deal,  back at Fleetwood Town

Brilliant news. Saints abandoned the lad too soon. Until he is tried and convicted he deserves to be able to follow his profession.
