faraway saint Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 While Trump is close to insane his stand on the world of "woke" is something that more people in power should be brave enough to stand up to. Disney is adjusting the content warnings ahead of some of its old movies including “Peter Pan” and “Dumbo” amid an overall shift in DEI strategy at the company following President Donald Trump taking office again. Disney is changing the disclaimer that autoplays before these titles from one that notes the film “includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of peoples or cultures,” to this: “This program is presented as originally created and may contain stereotypes or negative depictions.” Quote

On USAID, I do think these agencies need close monitoring as over the years there will be some ludicrous and wasteful destinations for bags full of money. However Musk isn't that person. He's more like an escapee from Madame Tussauds. Quote

exiledfan Posted February 13 Report Posted February 13 Worrying developments at the moment. He's about to set foundations for Russia to invade Europe and he doesn't know it. Ukraine give up some land against their will. Putin then goes and celebrates in Moscow with military parades to look like a hero. Over the next 4 years Russia rebuilds it's military capability. 4 years time Trump finishes his presidency and Democrats get back into office. 76 year old Putin attacks Ukraine again and has aspirations on other parts of Europe to rebuild russian empire as a final throw to secure his legacy NATO are powerless as Trump has decimated funding. This doesn't add up as Russia, over a sustained period, has made little progress against Ukraine, albeit Ukraine has had support with weapons from other countries. This with begging for some troops from Korea. I'd not be too concerned that, if Russia tried to take "other parts of Europe", NATO would be more than capable and once Trumps time is up the USA would, IMO, quickly step in with considerable support. I'm talking about 4 years time for all this once Trump does all the damage he can. He's giving them an out to save face and rebuild. Quote

I know you're talking about 4 years time and what makes you think that if the Russians rebuild they could topple NATO as they were at full strength when they started the war against Ukraine? I agree he's opening the door for Putin as he's been in a hole since he fcuked this up, thinking he'd march right in and it would be an easy invasion. To stop this without nuclear intervention there will, unfortunately, need to be considerable allowances made by the Ukraine. You're right about the damage Trump is doing but there are some small areas he does have a point which get overlooked by the utter madness that's headline news. Quote

If trump lifts sanctions on Russia and continues to lob tariffs elsewhere we could be looking at very different dynamics, especially if Russia are not held to account for the last 3 years. Quote
StanleySaint Posted February 14 Report Posted February 14 Musk has said $1bn dollars of benefits have been paid to people in America without a Social Security number, which is literally impossible because you need a Social Security number to claim it, but of course the core tango man supporters will lap up the lies. It’s okay Buddy, he’s already said that he’ll get some things wrong 🙈….the issue is that once he says it, it becomes fact for the morons (anyone seen AlbionSaint). Quote
faraway saint Posted February 19 Report Posted February 19 Trump points the finger of blame at Ukraine for "starting" the war. Either he's got his wires crossed or he's a total fruitcake. 🙄 Quote

Well Churchill must have been a dictator as he didn't hold an election when we were at war with Germany. Putin must be rubbing his hands as this escalates into a slanging match between Trump and Zelensky. I hope this calms down a bit soon as it's getting dangerously close to utter chaos. Quote
faraway saint Posted February 28 Report Posted February 28 As if things could not get any more chaotic Trump, and his equally as arrogant right hand man, talk over Zelensky, berating him and generally belittling him. We all knew this was going to be a shocking period but Trump is taking things further than I thought. His alignment with Putin is worrying. Quote

Swiss_Saint Posted February 28 Report Posted February 28 disgusting ambush by the supposed leaders of the free world , deliberately attacked and provoked from the first seconds starting with saying Zelensky had dressed up for the meeting and then speaking over him. Had planned Disney in 2027 but will be avoiding USA and any of its products for a long time to come now, The orange fart is an abhorrent individual and his supporters are some of the lowest of the low , lets face it the Tate brothers love him, that tells you everything you need to know. It was the most absurd piece of nonsense I have ever seen. Obviously pre - arranged. Really do not know why. Obviously some tie up between Putin and Trump. For Trump only money counts. Shocking behaviour. Really do not know what Americans think when they see that. Though as most of them seem to be brain dead they will probably be proud of their President sticking up for America. StanleySaint Posted March 1 Report Posted March 1 Sad to see one world leader effectively bully another as soon as he stepped out of the vehicle, also having his henchman to do the dirty work in the meeting was cowardly by Trump. Sad day for both USA and Europe, looking very similar to the 1930s with American isolationism and an unrestricted tyrant in Europe, worrying times. Quote
faraway saint Posted March 1 Report Posted March 1 It's all kicking off in the good old USA. Protests all over the place and, as far as I've seen, Spain as well. Quote
