Proud of the boys tonight and their performance and effort - especially compared to last week when we failed to turn up.

However, there was quite a gulf in class between the 2 teams. Brann would be competing for top spot in Scotland.

They were still so much sharper and fitter and their skill on the ball was impressive.

Wish them well for the rest of the competition.

Nonsense competing with Hearts at best

If we played as we did tonight, it is us who would be competing for third spot in Scotland based on Scottish clubs' performances last season.

However, I share the view that in the current 2024/25 season, the potential top six clubs in Scotland will be much improved from last season after their close season signings.

Also, it was encouraging to see young Fraser Taylor getting involved tonight and hopefully some of his fellow academy graduates will get the chance to show their full potential over the next few months.

Totally agree. Your guys really deserved a better result today. What a performance from your team! What a fighting spirit and what power you came with. After the first match I thought this would be easy, but your boys really made us work for it. Today Brann were lucky to win!

Good luck in the next round buddie  :byebye

Thanks! Personally I believe Astana will be an easier opponent to handle than St. Mirren. You'll forever be remembered as a swarm of wasps and have left a lasting impression over here. Both on and off the pitch.

Just to give you an update of the impressions St. Mirren has left on this side of the pond. You took us by surprise in the second leg and most people in Bergen are relived that we pulled it off in the end. This was by far the toughest match we have played in Europe so far this season. More importantly, the St. Mirren fans who visited Bergen have impressed many of us. A cheerful and civilized bunch of happy, funny and well behaved Scots. Your charity initiative is also duly noticed and has set an example for our own fans. We are already discussing if we should do the same when visiting other cities. The trip to Astana should offer tons of possibilities for us to live by your examples.

St. Mirren ins my club in Scotland now and I wouldn't be surprised if your fan club receives a couple of new Norwegian members in the aftermath of our battles.

Kudos to You all!

In reply I have to say Bergen is one of the nicest places I have visited while watching my football team be it St Mirren or Scotland. A beautiful city with great bars, restaurants and a real vibrancy. Everyone we met and spoke to were friendly and hospitable, even the guy playing music off his balcony as we waited for the buses in the rain. Managed to get out and about and do a bit of sight-seeing and loved every minute of it.

My good lady is already looking at flights and hotels so that I can bring her over for a visit........now if someone could just find the tap to switch the rain off that would be perfect!!

You're always welcome. The tap is unfortunately broken. Permanently I'm afraid....

I was by the way in Scotland on the day of the first leg. Unfortunately in Edinburgh, so the match was out of bounce. But in my opinion Scotts and Norwegians have a lot in common. We are the same breed of happy go lucky and informal people. It must be the Viking-influence.

I think Brann got lucky on the night with the conditions if it wasn't for bad luck we would have no luck. But we were so so much better last night than last week.

Great stuff Churchill..  You could even have some friendly banter the next time we have a Renfrewshire derby with the Bergen Morton fans,

There was a story in the news here before the first leg about a group of Brann fans who came over to watch a SPL game,  Unfortunately for them there was no games that weekend so they took in a 2nd tier game, The Bergen lads couldn't have made a worse choice Greenock Morton. who they've now adopted as their Scottish team

The story was they were asking Morton fans who are our local rivals to buy tickets to support SK Brann against StMirren

What I don't get about the Brann game was the massive area of empty seats to the saints fans left. The fans were a couple of rows apart on the right but on the other side so many empty seats. So did St.mirren not want to sell them to our fans or for some reason Brann didn't want to sell them to us?

That was a smaller safe standing area not permitted for use by UEFA, nothing to do with either club

There was an even bigger safe standing area in the home end that was also closed. Such a shame that UEFA don't allow them to be used, cannot understand it at all.
