linwood buddie Posted September 14, 2024 Report Posted September 14, 2024 Poor today , we should have done a lot better against the 10 men , our defending from corner kicks was shoddy. Quote

elvis Posted September 14, 2024 Report Posted September 14, 2024 How the f**k can you get played off the park by 10 men and at home they were miles better than that utter shite in saints tops the manager has got to shoulder the blame for that this tippy tappay passing shite along the back is getting us f**king absolutely no where except into trouble if he doesn't stop playing like that we are only heading in one direction and that's is down the way and anyone who thinks we are a better team than last year are absolutely f**king deluded. CraigyBoy Posted September 14, 2024 Report Posted September 14, 2024 Have to say we were absolutely woeful today Defensively all at sea / Zero creativity going forward and abject up front Killie are no great shakes but we were miles behind them today Went 1-0 up against fbr run of play ,and played second fiddle for the duration of first half To lead 2-1 against 10 men and play the way we did in that last 45mins was absolutely embarrassing and I was shocked at how we have regressed Today was as bad as it gets ( I hope ) Quote
fmckinn Posted September 14, 2024 Report Posted September 14, 2024 Poor performance all over the park today, no urgency, zero pressing, can't pass forward, don't see who turns this around for us our midfield is is nonexistent. I like big Taylor but he was shocking today, captain O Hara doesn't seem to know how to gee up the players, I don't understand that when they are down to 10 men and have a corner we don't leave a player up the park for an out ball. Poor tactics from the manager. Rant over very Dissapointed today Quote
Churchill Posted September 14, 2024 Report Posted September 14, 2024 Unfortunate result today, but our midfield seemed very strong. O´Hara man of the match. After the first half I was SO sure of victory , but once again the margins went against us. The tide will turn soon... Quote

shull Posted September 14, 2024 Author Report Posted September 14, 2024 Get the football up the park at every opportunity. Quit the tippy tappy shite. It's not fecking Rugby. We don't have to pass backwards in order to go forward. And the diving ...... FORFUXSAKE !!! Not worth tuppence. Quote
stlucifer Posted September 14, 2024 Report Posted September 14, 2024 (edited) The first half was almost bearable but, second half. 10 outfield players and subs that looked like they never saw a football before. No shape and no idea how to play a forward pass. Not one player looking up to see where their team mates were and playing everything in front of Killie. The very way you're taught NOT to play against 10 men. I said from very early in the second half we were never winning the game 2-1. We also gave a lesson in how not to defend at corners. Schoolboy error on the first and all panic to gift them what I was sure was an og for the second. All in all, a very bad day at the office. Edited September 14, 2024 by stlucifer Quote
guinness Posted September 14, 2024 Report Posted September 14, 2024 Shocking display. Very poor all over the pitch. Midfield incredibly slow doing anything. Kilmarnock just looked like they wanted to win and we seemed not quite so bothered. Yet again though all the major decisions in the match were made by VAR . If Paisley had a Junior team I would watch them rather than the Premier League . VAR is killing football. Referees barely make a decision , they just want for VAR to tell them what to do. Quote

I agree we have had a poor run of results against them and obviously Derek McInnes has really done his homework on us, BUT, I don't rate his side that much better than the Saints. In fact these stats suggest they are potentially top 3 material over that period, whilst it has only been last year that they achieved 4th. I think the run is slightly unbalanced and presumably takes into account their crappy artificial pitch, which is a slight advantage to them at present. I have my rose coloured specs on and go for a narrow 1 goal victory Told you he was crap. Never in control. Just guessed half the time then waited for VAR to bail him out. On the Scott goal given as a goal kick why did the Linesman not signal until many seconds after the ball was in the nef? None of them seemed able to decide quickly what was going on. Quote
BigYardsAndBasher Posted September 15, 2024 Report Posted September 15, 2024 (edited) I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned Mikael Mandron and Shaun Rooney who I feel should reflect on themselves over the weekend. Mikael Mandron was very silly, a prime example of stupidity. Shaun Rooney has to look at himself in the mirror and ask himself what kind of human being he wants to be. He was bang out of order for kicking Kyle Vassell when Vassell was lying on the ground not once but twice. He had no chance of getting the ball and what he did was an act of thuggery. For the people who will probably laugh at me, tell me to "have a word with" myself and attempt to defend Shaun Rooney, ask yourself how you would have felt if one of the Kilmarnock players had done that to one of our players? I bet you all would have wanted blood. Shaun Rooney let us down in this match and I personally think he should be fined two weeks wages and dropped for next week. He has disgraced the black and white stripes and he should be made an example of. Edited September 15, 2024 by BigYardsAndBasher Quote
BigYardsAndBasher Posted September 15, 2024 Report Posted September 15, 2024 Elvis and Shull are once again correct about the messing about with stupid, unnecessary passing, especially at the back. We're not Barcelona. We're not Real Madrid. Please stop the unnecessary tippy-tappa-tika-takka shite and play no nonsense football. Quote

Both made daft decisions and should’ve walked, which would have more than likely lost us the game. Might not need to drop Rooney to make your point; don’t know how it works, but could see him getting a retrospective ban. Could do without that, with our injury list and poor form. He’s a liability but an important player for us. I’m sure Robbo has gone through both of them. Fingers crossed Olusanya’s injury isn’t a bad one. He’s been massive for us so far this season. Quote

Only saw highlights on TV but totally agree with this post. Both Rooney and Mandron should have been off. SR saved Mandron from a red card by taking him off. Can maybe forgive his rush of blood as he doesn't appear to do this sort of thing regularly. Rooney is a more concerning case. Vassell is no shrinking violet himself but TV clearly showed that what Rooney did was violent conduct. I was convinced he would have to go. He's been good for us in earlier games but seems to have some form for this sort of play judging by comments I've seen from supporters of his previous teams. Robinson will need to get this stuff out of his repertoire or he'll be spending more time in the stands than on the pitch for the rest of the season. Very worrying. Quote
northstbuddie Posted September 15, 2024 Report Posted September 15, 2024 One other point about Rooney - although he poses an attacking threat, he is a less than average defender - too slow and cumbersome. Quote Quote

I was less concerned with Mandron (although lucky to be on the park ) as I was Rooney At half time I was spitting feathers at his performance - constantly getting involved with the opposition and although he ultimately led to their player getting sent off that galvanised them and we saw feck all benefit from this I feel he is a definite upgrade for us and I was enthused by his arrival , so games like this are very disappointing Hopefully this weekend has brought things to a head and Robbo can get them playing proper football 🤷🤷 Quote
spankin_panda Posted September 15, 2024 Report Posted September 15, 2024 (edited) Pretty concerning stuff this season so far. keeper is a liability at cross balls (thought a good shot stopper). defence - Gogic looks nervy and not a lot of cover in this area. middle of the park leaving gaps and always slow/turning back. aside from Olaysanya up top - we are poor. Other teams have improved - I dare say we’ve went backwards Edited September 15, 2024 by spankin_panda Quote

That sums Killie up for me, we were dragged down to their level and we need to be a bit more streetwise. I agree with you though, Rooney may end up being a liability although nobody was complaining when he scored against Valur. Quote

You have to wonder about our support. So, yesterday we drew, scored two goals and were only denied victory by a rather unfortunate OG. Did we play well, nope, what I saw in the second half was poor, although we did pick up after the equaliser. Periods in yesterday's game were possibly as poor as I've seen us this season but not as bad as most seasons in the top flight. The speed that some forget and are preparing for a relegation battle is just as expected, tragic. Edited September 15, 2024 by faraway saint Quote

Saint@Johnstone Posted September 15, 2024 Report Posted September 15, 2024 Managed to scrape an undeserved draw against the better team. Agree with many of the previous posts but my biggest bugbear is with Ayunga, who is completely hopeless, slow, unable to control a ball, easily brushed off, and to cap it all his first goal in heaven knows how long, is in his own net. Can’t believe he wasn’t chased during the transfer window, then again who would touch him ? Next week is a must win against the bottom of the league. Vast improvement required, however. Quote
