I hope he doesn't. My bet is you don't even know the full story, yet you want to strip him of a job and us of a very influential player?

That’s wrong on 2 counts.

He’s proven himself a liability on the pitch after his assault on Vassell as well as his shying to his own team shithousery.

He started off well but has resorted to type.

We’re better off without him regardless of the outcome of this investigation.

I'm sure that sounded ok in your head but, in the real world, Rooney has given us a bit of steel we don't otherwise have and the sort of player he is means there will always be a chance he'll step over the line now and again. He hasn't "resorted to type". He did react to Vassel's cheating which we all know he shouldn't have. There have been a few of our players, (and other teams too), who have had a dig due to frustration.

We are NOT better off without him. Unless we can bring another player with his particular style to add strength to our side.

Vassel  was conspicuous in his lack of complaint and I would not be surprised if he said something very untoward to draw that reaction

Vassel can’t complain, he plays more with elbows and palms than he does with his feet and we need a player who will sort his type out

We’ve got steel in Gogic and he’s skillful too. He’ll only be trouble to us but if by season end that’s not the case I’ll be on the forum to apologise for my lack of intelligence in the matter.

Fair enough?

Decision made by mutual consent I’m assuming Rooney has admitted his guilt to the Club

Gutted for the Club and player ☹️

The severity of the crimes is still to be determined and any plea in mitigation is still to be heard so I still feel that the club has possibly been too hasty.  The version of events that I heard (at least 3rd hand) doesnt indicate that things were that serious and the hate element is still to be explained.

as things stand, he has lost his job and reputation and needs to reassess his lifestyle and choices.  He also might do well in the time he has on his hands now to seek some anger management counselling to offer to the court (if it gets that far).  Either way he needs to start thinking about his way back into football and take advised decisions.  I'd hope that Saints can offer the same level of trust as they did for this guy , I don't recall the sanctimonious shit about thuggery being directed at him, yet the manager signed him twice.

We will wait and see how it all goes and i hope he comes back stronger from the experience

I don’t remember Gallagher’s off pitch thuggery/actions translating onto the pitch. Rooney is unpredictable on and off the park, it seems.

The Saints have made a decision based on their own review and that’s good enough for me.

I said I’d apologise if he redeemed himself with us, 3 or 4 days later he’s gone.

He was only going to be trouble for us!
