Felt that was coming after the first half an hour. You don’t take chances, you don’t deserve to win/ progress in football games. 
 

Rest of the season is going to be a slog to avoid a relegation battle. Then the team needs a big refresh in the summer. I know it’s been said before but that summer recruitment was really poor. 
 

I just hope we can clear out a number of these players on longer contracts. Too many that don’t deserve to be getting paid full time football wages & that is being shown, time & time again.

The quality of football on display was junior standard - and St Mirren were arguably the poorer of the 2 teams.

Even St Johnstone were better than these two. It was brutal to watch and not a good advert for Scottish football.

Thank goodness the BBC (as is their practice and policy) only show English games throughout the UK, and thus saved our embarrassment.

When you have the worst forward line in the country, that’s what happens. Soon as Hearts equalised, the writing was on the wall. Got what we deserved.

Yip we were screwed as soon as they got the equaliser there was only ever going  to be one winner especially when it went to penalties.

I thought Mandron had his best game in a Saints shirt and was excellent until he tired late on,  another than him I couldn't argue

Especially after getting an extra couple of days rest since the previous match.

A chance gone, first half we played pretty well, Olusanya was terrorising them, he could/should have scored a couple. Mandron, who's been playing well for a while, reacted really well for the goal. 

The second half was more even but it took a massive stroke of luck for them to equalise. 

Less said about the extra time and pens the better. The amount of subs allowed is a joke but them's the rules. 

Considering Hearts were on a strong run we were at least equal to them, the new guy looked steady. 

We are where we are, last night will have taken it's toll physically and mentally, need to pick up for the Hibs game

Its like Groundhog day watching St Mirren at home. Lets be clear. Hearts were absolutely terrible. St Johnstone are awful, Motherwell the worst they've been for years, Ross County hopeless, Dundee bang average and Dundee United are poor....and theyve all managed to beat us.

First half last night was best weve been for a while but only because of Olusanya (if he doesnt play we NEVER look like scoring) While I will never doubt this teams effort the lack of any technical ability is frightening. Fraser spends the whole game kicking or heading  the ball into the Paisley sky, Taylor comes out of defence with the ball looking good only to get to the half way line and give it away and the least said about the midfield the better. Even the easiest passes aren't being made. It really is brutal to watch.

The only saving grace is that the standard is SO poor in this league we may manage to survive. If we do it needs a clear out and far better recruitment. Not a SINGLE player signed this season has improved us and (apart from Olusanya, who sadly will be away) there isn't ONE player I'd be disappointed to lose.

Hibs, Old Firm, Motherwell and Killie to come... apart from Rangers 🤣 difficult to see where our next points are coming from.

many players get a game most weeks, seemingly without ever attaining match fitness.  Maybe one or two carrying injuries and definitely a couple who just don't have the stamina.  This leaves us vulnerable

I thought Phillips did well, but was shot by the 65th minutes and could have been hooked ahead of O' Hara.  Same goes for Olusanya, he faded from the half-time mark onwards and in those conditions you need to be on top.  I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to protect his hamstrings in the cold.  In any event, his finishing has gone back to where it was 2 years ago.  

On the plus side, Ryan Alebiosu looks a good signing and Declan John was good.  Mandron and Gogic kept us in it and Hemming was largely in control.

Aside from that, we don't have the squad that will keep us out the bottom 4 and any injuries and suspensions will hit us hard.  I can see that we need to use Penman, Kenny and Mooney as much as possible for the remainder.  Apart from the lack of fit and able players in this squad, If they can improve then that might reduce the number of new signings required for next year and we can go for better quality.

The signing policy is now discredited.  Foyle, Robinson and Gillespie have brought in too many players who either flatter to deceive or will never be fit enough for the kind of game played in the SPFL.  There is some obvious talent there, just not fit enough.

Been saying for more than a year we need more creativity in the team but that's not how the Manager plays the game. it's all thunder and bluster 100 mile a hour stuff and boots up the park. No wonder the players look knackered after 60 minutes. which suits the likes of Olusanya who'd be nowhere near as effective in a team that plays football. he won't be hard to replace with a different style of play. We have a creative player and he deserves a chance.. he could be walking out the door soon. But he won't struggle to get another team if he hasn't already got one lined up... they'll be plenty suiters...  on a positive note Mandrons link up play was superb last night where has it been the last 2 year. But he just doesn't score often enough he needs a clever striker to play with.. also thought Boyd Munce played well last night good wee player.

Robo's style worked last season but teams have learned how to stop us. It's not working now and it's sore on the eyes.

The manager plays that style and somehow fails to recognise that you need absolute machines to keep that up for 90 minutes.  I said at the 50 minute mark that Hearts were starting to behave as though it was only a matter of time before they scored and they obviously read us well.

Depending on whether the next few weeks yield a surprise result or two, we probably need to win 4 of our last 5 pre-split games to keep us near 7th place and that would allow the manager to try different things with the younger players, maybe phasing out the loanees who wont be back in the summer.

Actually thought we we're unlucky last night the game plan worked we stopped Hearts from playing they created nothing really we just ran out of steam.. A second goal would have killed it.. I don't think Olusanya had a shot on target all game
