It doesn't get any harder than this but we were minutes from a victory at the end of last season. 

Looking forward to this, an early test for our new players.

I'm expecting nothing really from this match except for a good solid performance as they are pretty much the same settled team. Anything more would be an added bonus.

I'm not advocating a "backs to the wall" scenario. That would likely be playing into their hands .

Here's hoping the new lads aren't intimidated by the surroundings and we show the same mettle we showed last time out.

Match day at last, after yesterdays results, two draws, a nice wee, if unlikely, win would be something special.

As usual, please don't lose an early goal, at least keep us in it for a while.

Celtic 0-0 St Mirren, half time. 

We'll, not too bad. 

Obviously Celtic have had lots of possession but we've coped pretty well. 

George has looked confident, great save just on half time, and Gogic hasn't put a foot wrong. 

So far so good. 👍

On balance, I suppose the better team won ...  but not by much.

A few unsporting moments by Celtic were disapointing.

I think we are going to well this season again. Unfortunate deflection beat us. The team played great. It’s the first game but we played well

Totally. Even after Celtic scored, that tackle from Sobowale was outstanding and Gogic was like a sponge soaking everything up. Just gutted to lose the goal at that time.

A lot of positives but what a sore way to lose a game. The run to prevent a second by Sabowale was fantastic.

George's save at the end of the first half, as others have said, was impressive. The new recruits showed up well and hopefully more to come from them. The substitutions were very nearly inspired within seconds of coming on.

Onward and upward. Looking forward to next week and our first home game. 

Apparently Motherwell played well v newco so I expect another stern test.

I’d rather never get humped by a team. We were unlucky but the display was outstanding

Yes we defended well today unlike some of the league cup games when we were slack and vulnerable especially at set pieces.

If we can get more control and creativity in midfield we look as if we could be competing for a top six finish once again.

Interesting that Celtic had 5 Scottish players on the pitch at one stage.

Mooney (and Saints) will benefit from more game time despite the fact he is home grown and still a teenager - his quality is obvious at this early stage in his career.
