eastlandssaint Posted November 24, 2025 Report Posted November 24, 2025 VAR is a disaster in Scotland... but it's the refs that need sorting, not the technology Quote
stlucifer Posted January 13 Author Report Posted January 13 It really is getting worse. Man City just had an on field decision of goal reversed because VAR decided Haalands' big toe might have been offside and he might have stopped a Newcastle player from reaching a ball he had no chance of reaching. And their refs ARE full time. Quote
eastlandssaint Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 The longest VAR checks in history after officials spent five minutes faffing over Semenyo goal Quote
eastlandssaint Posted May 11 Report Posted May 11 Premier League title decided by dodgy VAR seems fitting for dismal state of football today Quote
stlucifer Posted Saturday at 08:57 AM Author Report Posted Saturday at 08:57 AM McInnes and Stewart going on about how ALL the decisions from VAR going against them. Maybe they should reflect on the 29/10 last year when VAR helped them to a point v St. Mirren. 2-1 down and Saints got a perfectly good goal chopped off. Result. Hearts had an extra point and we got an apology. That was during a time when VAR cost Saints several points and the authorities spent a fortune on paperwork issuing us with "sorry notes". Yes. That controversial decision during the week MAY have an influence on the title but I'm sure our VAR plus for them wasn't their only gain. VAR errors against Saints have definitely put our league status in jeopardy. Quote

VAR errors against Saints have definitely put our league status in jeopardy. That's about it in a nutshell. Every team will have been at the wrong end of referees who seem to be getting more and more incompetent. Whether they are any worse than pre VAR is impossible to tell as there were no measurements back in them days. Quote
