The rangers have withdrawn their request to postpone the game so it goes ahead.

It appears we're already beaten though.

From the beeb.

"They could have been going into the first Old Firm derby of the season on 31 August seven points adrift had they postponed the match against St Mirren."

I'm quite pleased we're playing them at this stage as they, certainly at the back, are all over the place.

Add in this game will be slap bang in the middle of two massive European games for them.

Can we match last seasons 7 points from a possible 12 against them, as I've said, when we play well we can give any team in the league a game so, yeah, we can certainly compete.

I'm not in the faux angst that some supporters are getting into a lather about cheating, rule bending etc.

I agree that we should be able to compete with this mob.

As for the "cheating". I really don't get the sentiment. They said they wanted to cancel then had second thoughts. No harm, no foul. It's not as if they turned around two days before and demanded the game go ahead. In no way should interfere with our build up.

I'm still fairly confident that we can get something, and I'm leaning towards all three points, as Rangers defensive woes were evident again against the mighty Alloa.

They play Brugge this week and I'm always supportive and impartial when Scottish teams play in Europe but I can see them losing both home and away.

Again this confidence from the majority of our support shows where we are as a serious football club.

Watching the draw yesterday for the league Cup I found myself thinking that it was only Celtic that I'd prefer to miss.

Lets calm down a bit, they are dangerous up front, yeah, dodgy at the back so it's not an easy game.

If we get at them, and we're sharp up front, we can get a goal or two but our defence, which has been steady, will need to be on their toes.

We're not exactly frightening up front.

I've stopped betting but Saints are a tempting 7/2 against a comedy defence.

The downside is Rangers have some danger up front so I think we'll have to score a couple to win the game.

13/2 with BTTS and St Mirren to win is worth a wee punt. 😉

Rodgers hooked too. ‘Sack the board’! No wonder they’re shouting it, must be bored of winning everything. Imbeciles!

Final score Saints 12 - 10 The Rangers
