faraway saint Posted September 12 Report Posted September 12 After the international break we're back to business. One of the best away games I've ever attended was at Falkirk where the atmosphere was off the scale. A 0-2 win, which could have been 8, and a performance that was a joy to watch. I had taken my daughter and son in law, he's a Dundee Utd supporter and he was blown away by the St Mirren support. As I recall the Falkirk advertising boards collapsed under the pressure of our support. Anyhow, back to this game. They have started quite well but this is one of them games we really should be winning if we want to be a safe top 6 and higher this season. Quote
eastlandssaint Posted September 12 Report Posted September 12 One victory in our last fifteen matches against them, we really need to be up for it , right from the first whistle. Quote

Previous games are irrelevant as we're, certainly, a different beast from any of the teams from them days and our current t manager is as good as we've had for decades It'll still be a tough game, they'll be confident after beating Aberdeen and we really could do with a win. Falkirk 1-3 Saints Quote
stlucifer Posted September 12 Report Posted September 12 (edited) If, and it's a big IF. we can cure our profligacy in the last third, this, and the next few games would be very winnable. We're a whisker away from being a very good. definite top six side. Edited September 12 by stlucifer Quote
faraway saint Posted September 13 Author Report Posted September 13 OK lads, looking forward to a good open game today and three points. Quote
faraway saint Posted September 13 Author Report Posted September 13 Falkirk 0-0 Saints, half time. Very disappointing. Hardly looked like scoring, disjointed and Falkirk have looked the more dangerous. Need to improve in the 2nd half. Quote
Qarsaan Posted September 13 Report Posted September 13 HT. 0-0. Both teams are lucky to have 0. Quote
faraway saint Posted September 13 Author Report Posted September 13 OHara should have scored with the best chance we've created. Poor header. Oh, our shooting is horrendous. Quote

It's only been a couple of minutes but it looks like we've been given a rocket at half time. Pressing higher up the park and looking a bit more up for it. Quote

Qarsaan Posted September 13 Report Posted September 13 I wonder about O"Hara. Maybe needs a spell on the subs bench. Quote
faraway saint Posted September 13 Author Report Posted September 13 Get in, big deflection but who cares. Falkirk 0-1 Saints. Quote
Qarsaan Posted September 13 Report Posted September 13 John's free kick is wickedly deflected, and ... it's 1-up Saints. Quote
faraway saint Posted September 13 Author Report Posted September 13 Brilliant move, almost the 2nd. Much better 2nd half. Quote

Qarsaan Posted September 13 Report Posted September 13 Depending on other games, a win can change Saints' table position from 10th, to 3rd. Quote

faraway saint Posted September 13 Author Report Posted September 13 Falkirk 1-2, Saints, 88 mins. Calm heads needed here. Quote
faraway saint Posted September 13 Author Report Posted September 13 Falkirk 1-2 Saints, final score. First half we were honking. Looked like Robinson kicked some arse at half time and we were much better, faster and more dangerous. Deflected goal, we've lost two goals to the Old Firm this season so a wee bit of karma. Good 2nd goal and despite Falkirk getting a decent goal we looked pretty good and worth the points. Well done Saints. Quote
faraway saint Posted September 13 Author Report Posted September 13 Well, looking good.....................for a wee while anyway. Quote
