faraway saint Posted June 3 Author Report Posted June 3 (edited) Haiti 4-0 New Zealand First glance this gave be a bit of a fright. Further investigation showed New Zealand haven't won a game in about a year. Still, next up for Haiti is England on Saturday. Edited June 3 by faraway saint Quote

faraway saint Posted June 6 Author Report Posted June 6 Haiti played Peru, where Paddington comes from, last night...... Or early this morning. Quote
ianmac Posted June 6 Report Posted June 6 Read somewhere that Haiti lost both goals at corners. I am sure that Mr Clarke will have seen that too. Quote

ianmac Posted Wednesday at 06:51 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 06:51 PM England's friendly against Costa Rica is currently delayed. Who would have thought there might be lightning and torrential rain mid-afternoon in Orlando..... Quote
faraway saint Posted Thursday at 05:38 AM Author Report Posted Thursday at 05:38 AM Only watched the first half, Costa Rica were fcuking brutal. I was surprised when I just checked they managed to still have 11 on the pitch by the final whistle although the ref looked as if she was fresh out of "ref school" and was going through the motions. England 3-0 Costa Rica, final score. England don't let many goals in so they'll go far. Quote
faraway saint Posted Thursday at 07:24 AM Author Report Posted Thursday at 07:24 AM First up tonight is Mexico v South Africa. I expect a comfortable win for Mexico, 4-0. Then, in the early hours, it's South Korea v Czechia, I fancy the Koreans to edge this 2-1. Quote
Bud the Baker Posted Thursday at 08:13 AM Report Posted Thursday at 08:13 AM (edited) Well it all starts today - 48 teams (sheesh) and I reckon we'll all have similar opinions on the 8 to make the QFs. Argentina Brazil England France Germany Holland Portugal Spain I'm going for 7/8 of these teams plus a random diddy team like Morocco - what a palaver. faraway saint Posted Thursday at 08:24 AM Author Report Posted Thursday at 08:24 AM 48 years ago today wee Archie scored THAT goal against Holland. Gave us all hope that, somehow after the previous two disastrous games, we could qualify. Didnae last long. 🙄 https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1BM9H412o5/ Quote

faraway saint Posted Thursday at 07:26 PM Author Report Posted Thursday at 07:26 PM Mexico 1-0 South Africa, blunder between the goalie and defender, some finish. Pity, they played out from defence really well a few times before this. Oh, the boy who scored for Mexico out scored both Toney and Ronaldo in the Saudi league, worth watching. Quote
guinness Posted Thursday at 07:32 PM Report Posted Thursday at 07:32 PM Drinks break. Mexico the better side. Poor goal to lose. Poor defending then through the goalie. Quote
guinness Posted Thursday at 07:58 PM Report Posted Thursday at 07:58 PM 1-0 half time. Game died a bit after drinks break though Mexico had a couple of chances including hitting the post. Quote

Mexico 1-0 South Africa, half time. Mexico good in short spells, the SA goalies had a couple of good saves and they've hit the post. Apologies @guinness, almost the same post. 🤣 Edited Thursday at 08:05 PM by faraway saint Quote
faraway saint Posted Thursday at 08:34 PM Author Report Posted Thursday at 08:34 PM Nice new rule that players have 10 seconds to get off when being substituted. Oh, Mexico 2-0 South Africa Quote
guinness Posted Thursday at 08:37 PM Report Posted Thursday at 08:37 PM 2-0. Scored just before everyone nodded off. Then another water break . Fairly poor game. South Africa have no threat and Mexico had seemed happy with 1-0. Hopefully another couple of goals to ckme. Quote
Katie Bear Posted Thursday at 08:39 PM Report Posted Thursday at 08:39 PM Ya Ya Arsehole was what I was thinking 1 minute into our Scottish Cup Semi Final. Quote
