June 5Jun 5 Tough season coming up - new manager, plenty of "churn" in the squad and a difficult division this season. As usual we'll in the bottom half in terms of budget (personal opinion) with Dundee, Falkirk, Killie & the Fakes, Motherwell have done well (sic) in the transfer market in recent seasons and will likely have a bigger budget than us as will Dundee Utd. As for the rest.... No obviously weaker teams like County or Livi, anyway as the Chinese say "May you live in interesting times". I'd settle for 10th place right here, right now.
June 19Jun 19 dont think I like the lack of stripes on a home kit but seeing as I dont buy one every year I guess that doesnt matter too much
June 19Jun 19 I know it harks back to the 87 Cup winning strip but I always hated that strip. It's too much like old Dunfemline strips so it matters to me! Edited June 19Jun 19 by rabuddies Spelling

June 20Jun 20 Author A big welcome to our twelve legged Irish signing Ass Mule O'Ram! Gotta good feeling about Samuel Ramos too, I'm sure he was a minor character in a Spaghetti Western fillum... Edited June 20Jun 20 by Bud the Baker
July 16Jul 16 It definitely looks like it could be a challenging season ahead. A new manager and a lot of changes in the squad always bring uncertainty, especially in a competitive division where budgets can make a big difference. That said, St. Mirren have shown in recent years that good organization and team spirit can sometimes overcome financial disadvantages. A realistic target like avoiding trouble and building momentum sounds sensible, but football can always surprise us. It will be interesting to see how the new squad develops and whether they can prove the predictions wrong. July 26Jul 26 Author Well where are we after the LC opening phase?Obviously the team is still a WIP but we're not alone in that and at least we qualified for the last 16. I expect the team to be significantly different by the time the transfer window closes on Sep 3.For me the major disappointment was the manner in which we lost, I felt we shaded the game up till the triple substitution on 80mins, Charlie Mulgrew on commentary was praising us for bringing on two Academy players when what we needed was a couple of bruisers. Rival teams will have looked at the last 14mins of the game and been rubbing their hands with glee, we've nailed our tactics to the mast and looked unable to mix it up a bit when required.Less dogma more chutzpah! July 29Jul 29 The upcoming season looks set to be one of the toughest in recent years. A new manager, significant changes to the squad, and a highly competitive division mean expectations will need to be realistic. With several rival clubs strengthening their squads and likely operating with larger budgets, consistency and team spirit could prove just as important as financial resources. Even if survival is the immediate objective, a well-organized side can still surprise people over the course of a long campaign. Finishing comfortably above the relegation battle would be a solid achievement and a platform to build on for the future.
