The old Omar Kyan on Wellmeadow St undergoing a huge makeover just now Not sure what it’s to be but I’d guess another Curry House

It’s going to be a Keystore 🤷 I’d imagine it’s a replacement for the soon to be demolished shop on Well St

Harvie,s  closing on Monday for three weeks for refurbishment. Then opening up under new owners. Youngish couple I am told who do not want to alter too much though may reduce prices.

Dearest pub in Town just now

The only time I go into Paisley these days is to go to St. Mirren Park either on matchday or to visit the club shop on the odd weekday off.

The town, I'm very saddened to admit, is infested with total scumbags that bring the whole town down.  The town centre is a shambles as far as shopping is concerned and it's a real shame because Paisley has a lot of beautiful buildings and history.  My Auntie used to always say "When you're out and about in Paisley, look up at the architecture and see for yourself the history of the place."  Unfortunately nowadays you can't spend too much time looking up because you'll either step in dog shite or bump into the many "characters" the town has and by bumping into them, you'll probably get threatened or battered.

Sad times.

Harvies set to change hands again. Last lot only lasted about 8 months. Various rumours about why they were asked to leave.  Interim company taking over. Usual mayhem while they work out how to use tills etc. Hopefully better hosts next time and, hopefully, reduce the prices a bit.

Ah, memories, no exact date but my guess is around 1976-77 as I remember getting 4 pints for under a quid.

May be an image of ticket stub, blueprint and text

Can remember back around '73/74 when i first got into pubs (illegally)  you could get 6 large bottles of Whitbread in the Gleniffer bar (Corkers)  a bag chips and yer bus fare home for a £1

Harvies now £5.60 for a pint of Guiness. Seems steep for a loca! Pub.

No wonder they’ve lost the majority of their regulars to the Burgh

Wow, it costs £3.60 in my local (Mon-Thu) and £4.10 at the weekend.
