Can remember back around '73/74 when i first got into pubs (illegally)  you could get 6 large bottles of Whitbread in the Gleniffer bar (Corkers)  a bag chips and yer bus fare home for a £1

I was still in school at that point, primary school. 😜🤣🤣🤣

The Cellar Bar has been renovated and has a sign up for a Bar + Grill

🍺🥩

Very fond memories of the Cellar for me

a meal in town and a couple of drinks pre and post a movie at the ABC were a big part of our weekends before and after we married

Always felt at home there, great jukebox too

Not sure if it’s a Gaelic establishment or if their printer is dyslexic 🤷‍♂️

Looks like the Anchor might be opening up again.

Also Gilmours mentioned above is open now.

The Paisley pubs must have revolving doors.

Tried the Anchor yesterday. Quite nicely fitted out. Although I did not have anything to eat it looked quite a varied menu  at about the prices you would expect in the town centre. I normally drink in Harvies so d rink  prices seemed not too bad. Staff were very pleasant.

Been once and food was lovely although I did think it was a wee bit pricey for Paisley

New Indian restaurant in Causeyside St.

https://www.facebook.com/share/1Lz6fcaHWf/

So that's Indian Scene, Multan, Phat Bhuna, Indian by Nature, Royal Taj, VJ's (former Mirage) and this new one.

Seven!

We, in a town with a population of around 23,000, have SIX Turkish barbers.

A brand spanking new one just opened, very swish looking.

Seemingly they double up as launderettes. 🤔

11pm

I remember that as I was friendly with a girl who worked in Gabriel’s and she told me to come down and meet her for her finishing I walked down in plenty time to get in before curfew but met a mate and stood chatting and turned up at 11:05pm The bouncer was having none of it so had to go to phone box and phone pub She told me where the back door was and let me in that way You should have seen the bouncers face at closing time when he clocked me sitting at the bar 😂
