I liked the first Duran album when I was young and hadn't played it for a while. Still thought it was good and it's amazing how much recent music has been leaning towards this kind of sound. BTW I still like most of Rio too. Might be the childhood nostalgia.

I met you briefly outside the Town Hall but I had to go and you seemed to have plenty of other folk greeting you... A great day. :D

Childhood nostalgia we'll put it down to and leave it there.

Thought it was outside the Town Hall and was indeed busy talking to a few others. I remember it was while I was still sober but it was for a fleeting moment so wasn't sure. Bumped into Kenny in Sportsters but he was just leaving as I was going in. Think the missus wanted him back home to talk about Sellik.

Aye, a great day indeed!

Erik Satie- Piano Works. Beautiful, light years ahead of his time. :)

Correct. Played some of his stuff in the school orchestra and it was always very enjoyable to play, even though there was quite a dark side to the music as well.

Yes- Fragile

Quality. :D

Colin James Hay- Looking For Jack

The Jack in question being a Mr. Nicholson.

Feck me. Erik Satie- The Bagpipe Years??

I played the trumpet, dafty. Or was it the horn?

On The Beach is a top notch album. Especially Revolution Blues:-

"Well, I hear that Laurel Canyon is full of famous stars,

But I hate them worse than lepers and I'll kill them in their cars."

Top five this Friday for me are:-

1. Considering the Situation – Alex Harvey; a superb best of

2. Doolittle – The Pixies; classic surf-rock

3. Tarkus – ELP; prog at its best

4. My Life in the Bush of Ghosts – Eno & David Byne; 2 geniuses for the price of 1.

5. Word of Mouth – John Cooper Clarke; a true one off.

Brilliant album. Light years ahead of it's time as well, so much loop based music of the 90s and 00s owes a big debt to that record :)
