Bill Lees
Agree with Stoi - all time top five would take some serious thought. But last five read were from memory : 1. My Trade, by Andrew Marr. 2. Olives - The Life & Lore of a Noble Fruit, by Mort Rosenblum. 3. Watching The English - The Hidden Rules of English Behaviour, by Kate Fox. 4. Moon Dust - In Search of the Men Who Fell to Earth, by Andrew Smith. 5. May Contain Nuts, by John O'Farrell. 6. The Beckoning Silence, by Joe Simpson. 7. Pevsner's Architectural Guide to Birmingham, ed. Andy Foster. Woops, that's seven - but anyway, you get the idea.

allym1877
Erm, I don't think I've finished reading more than five books (well, novels/fiction) in my life. Therefore, my choice of top five is fairly easy 1. The Trial - Franz Kafka 2. The Outsider - Albert Camus 3, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams (the five-part trilogy) 4, Crime Passionnel - Jean-Paul Sartre 5, Animal Farm - George Orwell Currently attempting to read Ulysses by James Joyce. I'll report back when I've finished it around the year 2020.

ped
1. 1984- George Orwell2. The da vinci code - Dan Brown 3. Angels and demons - Dan Brown 4. Sleepers - Lorenzo Carcaterra 5. Its not about the bike - Lance Armstrong 182220[/snapback] ITS NOT ABOUT THE BIKE I read Armstong's book recently and was pretty amazed by the book. I liked the way Armstrong is pretty honest about himself and didn't try to pass himself off as a lovely bloke type. To be honest he sounds like a bit of a c*nt and is pretty selfish to boot. Having said that the guy has got amazing bottle, determination, loyalty (of a sort) and an incredible self confidence. Guess that is what makes him a winner but i think his book shows that there is always a price for that sort of 'all or nothing' mentallity and indeed he has now split with his wife because of cycling. ( on the up side now he's shaggin Sheryl Crow !) It was great to see him win the Tour de France for the 7th time - will it ever be bettered - i doubt it.
