  1. I know this must be hard for you to understand, as you have been told a number of times before, but THAT WOULD HAVE DEPENDED ON THE POLICIES OF THE GOVERNMENT THAT WAS ELECTED. Hope that got through your thick head this time.

er, but that is exactly the point Stuart is making...

  2. According to ABI in 2013 the average UK pension pot at retirement is around £36,000.

No wonder more and more people are having to work beyond 65.

Once the new rules come in allowing people to essentially cash in their pension funds more and more will become strapped by poverty in old age.

If only people would spend less than they earn and save/invest the difference in an ISA or SIPP....

should also point out that a sipp is a pension as well and will also be subject to the pension changes in april

indeed, most sipp customers are likely to have wealth that allows them to take flexible drawdown just now.. Ie, they can already cash it all in

and there has never been a limit on cashing in isas

those pension pots don't include defined benefit schemes

in addition, many folk have multiple pots with different companies

for example, i have 5 different pots (plus am a deferred member of a defined benefit scheme)

2 of these pots are worth less than £3k each, thus bringing down the average.

  4. More likely they've made rip roaring c**t of their job in banking and received a huge payoff from their London based chums.

Or they've worked for or been chairman of a company that's avoided paying tax for years, on the say so of successive Westminster governments, and amassed a huge personal fortune.

Sadly, that's the reality of the situation.

none of those things apply to me (apart from making a c**t of my job - which i do on a regular basis)... But this tax change will benefit me and anyone else with money purchase pension benefits.

the bankers you mention will likely be on defined benefit schemed so the change wont affect them

and i believe there is an upper limit of 1.25 million? Again, the kind of people you are talking about will have pension money in excess of that...

  5. Again, no answer to my question! One of these years you will answer a question directly instead of going off at a tangent.

Did England, the would-be lords of the world, do any better than Scotland in predicting the RBS meltdown. After all, they (England/UK) had set up the FSA to regulate the UK financial services. Like many other UK quangos it did not do its job.

You appear unable to grasp the difference between England and the UK...

  6. Protect up to £1.25m in pension. Phew, that's helpful. We're all in this together after all...

    Indeed.

Its an utter disgrace that the government should try and provide incentives for people to work hard and save money.

Much better to encourage them to rely on the state...

  7. The UK government are doing a fine job when it comes to finance.................whistling.gif

Here's their latest scheme to increase the poverty gap.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-29402844

My mother-in-law won't be happy with this.

She might end up having to either downgrade her annual holiday from Turkey to Salou or possibly give up her atumn holiday...

Either that or she won't be able to buy the kids the latest ipads, sony playstations, etc at Christmas.

Its a tough life being poor in the UK...

  8. I meant to pay for the club

So, despite knowing nothing about the buyers or whetherthere are actually any buyers, that their plan is to cut wages whilst shull thinks the plan is to inflate salaries?

    Maybe the plan is neither?

If someone has £2 million to invest, do you seriously believe that the best way to make money would be to buy a football club then start making cut backs and hope that you can squeeze some profit out of it whilst retaining a place in the SPL despite the cut backs?

  9. I see that Fred Goodwin had his knighthood stripped today.

Let's remember that back in 2007 that Alex Salmond sent a letter to Goodwin at the time of RBS's purchase of ABN AMRO saying “Yours for Scotland”, “would like to offer any assistance my office can provide”.

John Swinney, said in a separate letter at the time that the deal was “an enormous achievement for RBS” that helped make Scotland seem “an attractive place to do business”.

And to think that these clowns want to run an independent Scotland. To think that these fools blame England for all our ills...

  10. Of course you've lost it, you're ranting and raving like a fat, ugly, deluded, Nazi-loving simpleton - oh, wait a minute ...

You keep going on about this 4 out of 32 stuff. While it is correct, it is totally meaningless as it would have been possible to win the referendum by winning just 4 out of 32 but then again, numbers aren't your strong point.

I wasn't defeated as I wasn't a choice in the referendum. The side I supported lost, not me, so stop trying to make this personal fat boy. whistling.gif

    Edinburgh Castle? Don't talk shite.

Apparently Salmond spent his own money on the jet - what's your problem?

All the rest about elections, non-Scottish companies and coups is just more misrepresentation on your behalf.

As I've asked you a couple of times now, what has Sturgeon's looks got to do with anything?

We won't know about the BoE stuff for about another 10 years. biggrin.png

    ^^^^^ verge of tears

  11. It's always interesting to see the level of hypocrisy that St Mirren supporters can get to, to defend the club.

I've shown beyond all doubt that in selling those four advertising boards around the ground St Mirren are in breach of their own Stadium Regulations where the "promotion or endorsement of ANY POLITICAL ORGANISATION is not permitted". I've also shown that the club could well be in contravention of FIFA's own rules regarding political advertising and slogans at football grounds.

Are St Mirren and those on here who would seek to defend the club guilty of discrimination? Is it only Scottish political slogans and advertising that is allowed around the stadium or would it be equally open to accepting money to promote and advertise political organisations from one or the other side of the Irish divide, or indeed from the various political organisations in the Middle East? Would the fans of the club happily accept business from a Conservative politician in the area? Indeed how would it feel if a UKIP or BNP candidate sought to buy advertising space around the stadium and the club accepted it? Are fans being hypocritical in turning a blind eye to the promotion of political organisations within their stadium whilst castigating Rangers and Celtic supporters for doing similar in their own stadiums?

As I've said I would hope the club would see sense and remove the offending advertising hoardings before the next home match.

    Totally agree Stuart.

  12. And then after a wee while on high wages, the owners get bored and pull out or run out of money .

    Therefore unsustainable salaries.

And probably death of St Mirren Football Club or Admin if we're lucky.

    Nae thanks !!!

GILMOUR & CO. MUST STAY !!!!

Are high wages and unsustainable salaries the plan of the new owners?

IOB Saint has the new owners down for cut backs and lower salaries (despite pouring money into the club)!

Some folk have vivid imaginations!

  13. it's not the assets that will be the problem this will give the power over to one body meaning no one can vote against them on important decisions such as smaller player budget higher prices smaller staff to pay back the money paid for the club over many years. No one buys a club to pour money in to it for no return. I see a very dark future for St Mirren football club between new owner and relegation this season.

If someone were to 'pour money in to' the club, surely that would mean a higher player budget, more staff, etc?

If you are suggesting that they would want to take money out of the club, then why pour money into it in the first place?

Leaving that aside, I would imagine that there are far easier ways for a someone to make money from a circa £2m investment than buying a Scottish football club and then running it down.

    :1eye

  14. Only 412 more posts to the magic 10k , I think most posters have left to join the 63 k new SNP members on their forum ;)

i hear this talk about so many folk joining the snp as if it means something

the yes campaign was more visible, it made more noise and it has loads of activists

but the silent majority voted no

    so get used to it!

  15. Give the guy a break, he can't be on here defending his radical views and attending the UKIP conference also. Their is important issues being discussed at conference, such as how the new priority passport control queues for the honest, salt of the earth , true Brits will work.

bearing in mind their xenophobic similarities, maybe ukip & the snp could hold a joint conference next year?

  16. 24 hours since Dorothy the Liar posted, I wonder what story he's making up now. 1eye.gif

Maybe he is going to say that they now have the technology to extract even more oil from the north sea. (Herald) Who would have thought that would be announced within a week of a No vote in the referendum?

Or that the leader of UKIP-lite (Scotland) is being reported to the police by the electoral commission. (Herald)

Or that a donator to UKIP is pushing for an English referendum to kick out Scotland, Wales & NI - The United Kingdom of England, anyone? (Herald)

Or maybe he won't say anything. (please, please, please ...)

Got to love Dorothy, still can't see it. Bless.

Spot the "man" that can't see the strategy.......

I prefer to spot the lies in Dorothy's posts.

Sometimes its easy to find, some others are subtle that take a while to be seen. Just like when he lied where he stayed then a couple of months later f**k$ up and inadvertently posts another location. (Just to try and prove he stayed in a nicer place than Paisley)

FFS. How many people does Stuart have wound up into a bitter rage!
