  1. I dont even think he was even injured.

Something happened at the Club that we are not being told about.

Naw. The manager says he was injured, was dying to get back playing and had some sort of reaction after training. I think AR is honest enough to say if he didn't want a player playing for him.

  2. Hooray, we beat Alloa!

Open top bus parade through the streets of Paisley tonight!

    Nosferatu (word)
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The name "Nosferatu" has been presented as possibly an archaic Romanian word, synonymous with "vampire". However, it was largely popularized in the late nineteenth century by Western fiction such as Dracula, and the film Nosferatu. Suggested etymology of the term might be derived from the Romanian Nesuferitu ("the insufferable/repugnant one") or Necuratu ("the unclean one, spiritus immundus"), terms typically used in vernacular Romanian to designate Satan (the Devil).

That name suits you to tee. You seem to suck the life out of anything good about St.Mirren. We got our first home win of the season....GREAT. Who cares who it is against. Its 3 points. What can be negative about that?

  4. Don't think Ridgers was particularly good or bad. He was a bit "meh" as far as I was concerned.

Fans of my age were absolutely spoiled with goalkeepers at St.Mirren. Billy Thomson, for all his semi final gaffs, was a great keeper and his understudy at the time Campbell Money became the greatest goalkeeper I've ever seen at the club.

Ludo was another favourite of mine. We have been blessed with some great keepers over the years.

In recent times it hasn't been quite so good. David Cornell is arguably the worst keeper I've ever seen at the club.

I think Langfield is a decent keeper to be honest but I think certainly for next season I'd prefer him to be coach and number 2 to a younger number 1.

For the rest of this season, we can hopefully utilise the Ridgers wage more productively. If Langfield got injured then Dan Wilks will get his chance and there is always the emergency loan market if it was for any extended period. Or Ludo still lives locally thumbup2.gif

Personally I believe Billy Thomson was the best goalkeeper we ever had an should have been playing at a higher level. Campbell Money was a good solid keeper. We have had many good keepers and loads of not so good, as you can see from the mixed list below.....

Grant Adam, Billy Bald, Tony Bullock, Alan Combe, David Connell, Christopher Dilo, Les Fridge, Paul Gallacher, Mark Howard, Craig Hinchcliff, Kieran Hughes, Ally Hunter, Paul Mathers, Gordon Marshall, Ian McCaldon, Adam McHue, Campbell Money, Ludo Roy, Craig Samson, Derek Scrimgour, Chris Smith, Graeme Smith, Jim Stewart, Scott Strang, Stevie Woods,

Defiant Ian Murray insists he's still the right man to lead the Buddies despite dropping more points against Morton
THE Saints gaffer is confident his side can still achieve a top four place despite currently sitting 12 points outside the playoff positions.

IAN MURRAY insists he’s the man to guide St Mirren out of the doldrums despite suffering a later sickener against Morton .

The Buddies boss is adamant his side will turn the corner despite their search for a first home league win continuing in their draw with their derby rivals.

Murray left the field to the sound of boos but he’s convinced there’s no concern over his future in the job.

He said: “Everyone is entitled to an opinion and that’s the case with the fans and rightly so and we understand if we don’t win games then pressure comes with that. But the players are giving me everything and that’s the main thing. We look like a team which is really, really fighting for us and we are not where we want to be but we are not that far away either.

“We have two games in hand over Morton and we have a game in hand over Raith who we face on Tuesday night so things can change.

“A disaster tonight would have been losing the game but we didn’t and a few wins can take us into the top four.

“We are disappointed with the scoreline, especially to lose the goal so late in the game so it’s hard to take in any game but it’s that bit harder when it’s a derby. We need to now pick ourselves up for Tuesday night.

“There was a more than a hint of offside with their goal, if their player was any further then he would have been in our net.

“A decision has gone against us again but we won’t bleat about it as everyone makes mistakes but it seems we are getting them against us every single week.

“We need to look at how it happened and analyse that first but at the moment we don’t seem to be getting a lot of luck or decisions.

“Nobody wants to hear about that, they want to hear about wins and about good performances so we need to win games. We’ll take the positives out of this game as we battled well against a decent side and kept our unbeaten run against them as a club but ultimately we are disappointed.

“I didn’t sense a nervousness towards the end but it happens to the best of teams".

Morton boss Jim Duffy insists justice was served with their last gap leveller.

He said: “I think even the St Mirren camp would admit that over the 90 minutes we deserved a point.

"I thought the first half was quite even and when St Mirren scored they got some momentum and that deflated us. But we regrouped and I thought we were the team in control in the second half. We were just happy to get a point and I think we deserved it.

"From our point of view, it keeps the momentum going. If we had lost the game 1-0 I would have been disappointed, but not with the performance because I couldn't fault the guys. You could see we are not a bad side.

"I think we showed a lot of courage coming here and playing the way we did. We started off with two wingers and went at them. I thought we played reasonably well and deserved the draw."

Since Flarebob started this post way back in Aug 13 we have had these 3 roasters after Danny Lennon left. Interesting to note that the author of the St.Mirren Info has penned in that Murray has left. Could he just be waiting on a date?

  6. Does anyone on here actually wish to see Murray succeed as manager of St Mirren ?

I think all will WANT him to succeed as that reflects on us all as a club. All the negativity and anger is mainly down to frustration. I think the problem is CAN he succeed? Ian Murray has shown nothing in terms of style of play, consistency in selections or indeed any organisation and the overall demeanor of the guy is hardly that of a passionate motivator of people! As assistant to Murray, Millers influence will help to a degree, but Murray is the manager and his own man. Its almost 6 months since he came to our club. If he hasn't shown he can do the job by that time then he should go. Kettle on...

  7. Rubbish it..? No...

I gave my opinion based on how poor Gus's career has been since leaving us, and the type of wages Lambert is used to. Re: your subsequent post.... After reading the debate, and points put by other posters I conceeded that Miller & Ross in that order would indeed make more sense until we were in calmer waters.

Thats what happens in debate if you are prepared to keep an open mind. But you have to accept others dont agree with you, thats ok as long as they offer alternatives rather than just saying "Naw"

I'm sorry. I don't know why I bothered posting on your thread I don't normally as you are such a BELL END!!!

  8. Gus has been rank for years now, Lambert is way above our reach. Whats wrong with the suggestion of Miller taking over with Ross assisting till the ship is steadied?

Ross has a lot of what Murray lacks, intelligence, tactical nous, experience of working with his fellow pro's and footballing bodies and has done a great job developing and bringing on youth! Something we need to maintain to keep the advantage of growing our own players.

This is a typical Lord Look At Me reply. You tell me not to take part in your debate unless I have something to offer, then rubbish it when I do !!!!

Anyway, Short term I suppose Miller as manager and Ross as assistant could work, but in your original post you suggested it be Ross and Miller.
