I think the backing the team got on Saturday (and Tuesday night from what I saw) was first class. The place had a wee buzz about it and it was nice to hear some positivity in the stadium.
Don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves but this is another massive game for us, the face that we can close the gap to 1 shows how quickly this league can turn around and hopefully the good feeling can continue

I'd be hoping for maximum points off Ayr, QoS, Dunfermline, Dumbarton and Ayr again. 3 off of Morton would be ideal clearly.
I don't think 18 is out of the question, I know we have only won 2 and I may be getting carried away.

At least they are listening!
Delighted that the board have listened. To be honest I don't think anyone would care so much about the plaques if we were sitting in the play offs just now.

Looks like they are staying put, for now

It must be so boring to support a team that wins all the time! I celebrated Tuesday night as if it was a cup win. I have to believe we can kick on from here.
Agree with DougJamie; we still looked poor at the goals and by no means are we sorted, but that drive until the last minute. The reaction from fans and players when the winner went in was priceless. That feeling is why you support your team.
Hopefully we can get decent numbers along on Saturday and we can carry on and keep the good feelings going.

Fantastic from Hibs, this exactly the sort of thing that our club should be doing

I can see why people decide to stay away, it is crap supporting us most of the time. Weekends ruined, partners fallen out with because of the performance of a football team!
However, that's not for me. I don't think it makes you more of a supporter that you refuse to not attend a game and to be honest I think it's better for you, the other fans and the team that you stay away if it makes you miserable.

6 league games each
Rae Draw 3 Lost 3
Ross Lost 6
I'd settle for not losing 50% of the games just now , it's points on the board that matter , no points for self esteem.
So we'd be 6 points behind instead of 9? For me there was nothing positive from Rae this season. I would have liked more from the side under Jack Ross but I think he is starting to get more from the team and I'm still hopeful for the remainder of the season

Gordon Scott should never have sacked Rae until end of season . Rae kept us up last year and would have done so this year . Then and only then bring in JR. but the timining was all wrong . If we go down Scott has to take responsibility and resign .
Having sat through the dross on show from Rae's team at the start of the season I see no evidence that he would have kept us up! The team has improved under Jack Ross and I believe results will come.

I wouldn't expect Baird red to be rescinded. He retaliated , he was wrong and he deserves to be punished.
However ,IF Miller did bite, he should be called to answer for his actions , if guilty he should serve a long ban . This sort of behaviour has no place in football.
I would be delighted if Miller gets a long ban. If the club were going to push on with it I would expect we would have heard something by now, or at least at some point today. What did Suarez get for biting? 4 months?
-
From the pictures I think it certainly looks like a bite took place. The problem is that even if we pushed for action to be taken it would be against Falkirk. I doubt that Jack Baird's red card would be rescinded as his reaction would still merit it.

There has to be more than getting rid of the manager. We've not had the lift that can come with a new manager coming in, but there have been improvements on what we were watching under AR at the beginning of the season.

Looks like there are some present board members writing on this site ! I don't happen to think you are 1 of them however . It's my opinion that Gordon Scott is up to no good and he will also have to ask us for more money soon and thats a fact . He must consider handing in his resignation very soon . Don't tell me that Stewart Gilmour was not Saints through and through he done a fantastic job and we need him back now to steady The Club and get a feel good factor about us again . Someone gave credit to Langfield for admitting he's not up to the job so how about Gordon Scott doing likewise and standing down . Like it or not he's made errors and he's dishonest and has hidden agendas . He's under severe pressure that's for certain . All this mess has nothing to do with Jack Ross or Alex Rae for that matter . It's my opinion that if Alex Rae had still been in charge we would not be bottom at this moment . Yes we are playing more positive football under Jack and I really do believe that when we get the first win we will go on a run . Jack Ross has great potential but he's young and requires a strong character within The Club and Stewart Gilmour is that person to work with Jack . Gilmour had no hidden agendas unlike Scott , just wait and see . What I do notice is on this site a lot of people just don't want to hear the facts !
Not sure what facts you have to back up calling GLS that! Gilmour and the old board did a great job in their time, but they were open about their time and the club being over, and while he is still a St Mirren man I think Gilmour knew the club needed fresh blood.

I thought Gallacher was solid enough on Sunday, he didn't have too much to do but was capable enough. Don't know if I would be confident in him as a long term number one, but I think he should be given a run until January when, hopefully, we have a new keeper in.
-
I think Walsh is worth holding on to, even if it's just to come on after 60 minutes every week and add to the attacking options. On Sunday's form I think Magennis and McAllister have to be in the starting 11 going forward.
-
I'm not a fan of booing players and managers, however, this comes more from the passion the fans have for the club that they are not seeing from the players. Of course it would be better if it was all sunshine and rainbows but that isn't the case.
There are times where fans have to pull a team through a rough patch, but 203 days without a league win is too much to stomach, yet we show up to support the team. It's time for the 11 on the pitch to show that dig and fight and show they care for the club!

Just judging him on the same standards all players should be judged on. Imagine being a manager and finding out that the clubs biggest star is a central midfielder who cant tackle or pass, who cant pick out a through ball to a striker and who can only play in his position if accompanied by two bouncers.
Thats exactly what Jack Ross faces at St Mirren. Its time people got honest. Mallan needs to adapt his game so he works within the team. Even his set pieces have gone to shit this season.Clearly he needs to adapt and up his game, but he has talent. If Jack Ross feels he can't get that out of him and it's time for him to go then fair enough. I just think he has a lot to offer and hopefully he can produce for us.

The point of the coffee shop is that it generates more revenue, hopefully from a wider customer base. Its absolutely right to look to expand the business to generate extra revenue and profit. Throwing cash at a football team doesn't guarantee results.I don't disagree in principle with the coffee shop at all, yes we should expand the business side to get more people in and around the club however, the product on the pitch has to be the priority.
-
The problem is we don't have anything to engage with. For fans it has to start on the pitch. This season has been a disaster and now it is time for the team to give the fans something to get behind, there has to be a bit of dig and passion. Make the 2021 a place teams hate coming to because they know they are in for a fight as opposed to the easy 3 points we are giving away each week.
Fans will bitch and moan and that will never change, but if the players give us something to get behind that will become a minority. Better performances on the pitch will lead to more fans attending the games and engaging with the club in a way that a coffee shop never will

Bastian Schweinsteiger cant get a game for Man Utd, I'm sure he'd love a game for us

At this point it seems like child abuse to continue to take my son along.
-
I think you are being harsh on him there. He's a 20 year old boy playing in a shit midfield for a team that have been shit for 3 years! He's not at the level of McGinn or McLean but he is a talent. This season he has been just as awful as the rest and I don't know if he needs an arm round the shoulder or a boot up the backside or maybe he needs the solid holding midfielder we are crying out for.
-
I'm sure Longwell said they wear the black boots because the youngsters hadn't earned the right to wear the coloured boots. Not sure many in our first team can claim to have earned anything this season!
-
We're stuck with the vast majority of this squad unfortunately, it's now up for JR to find something that resembles a team from it. If that means some of the "bigger names" being dropped for some of the younger lads then I'm all for that. But the be all and end all is that we are in a mess as a club and this has been coming for years, I still believe we have the right manager and, but he has a hell of a task on his hands
Where is our season heading now?

50 points from the next 8 games or JR should go!
