  1. After years of shite transfer windows, since Gus came in we've had two apparently excellent windows in the space of 9 months.
But seemingly this is black and white evidence that Gus is failing in his role.
    Am I missing something?[emoji3]

Yeh, we should have been signing players before the new manager was appointed and should have had the entire squad in place before the start of the League Cup campaign.

It’s all their in black and white

    Even though it isn’t! [emoji1]
  2. baz is correct in that it’s unrealistic to expect clubs to stand up to the Old Firm.

The only way change can happen is for fans to stand up to the Old Firm.

Back in 2012 it was the threat of boycotts that led to the Premier League rejecting allowing the new Sevco club entry into the league.

The only thing that can effect change is boycotts. And only fans can do that.

If all fans boycotted all games until a new league is started without the Old Firm then change would happen,

It’s in the power of the fans.

If you keep going to these games then do not moan about sectarianism, songs, thuggery, cheating, refereeing decisions.

Instead, just bend over and take it right up the arse from the Old Firm and do it without fuss.

  3. Yep best St Mirren manager in the last 30 years. Best football played, best players (Thompson, Teale, Goncalves, Dummett, Carey, McGowan, McLean, McGinn and the list goes on) Best league finish, Cup winners. At times we were a joy to watch. Always remember the first few games of his 2nd season when all the big names signed. Dunfermline away we played like Brazil and somehow drew. The 2nd game though was just about the best I've ever seen us play. Absolutely steam rollered aberdeen at home playing barca style passing. Ended 1-0 but was going on 5. Hasselbaink was exceptional. Then we all travelled up to tannadice in week 3 and for the first 30-40 mins we were doing exactly the same to them as we did to aberdeen. Big Thommo scored then hasselbaink was clean through to make it 2-0 but instead got sent off for holding off the chasing defender! I remember after that game thinking for the first time in my life I'm going to see us do something special in the premier league.

Craig Paterson on the radio said that day if we kept playing like that we'd finish top 6 no problem, maybe even top 4! We lost momentum after that with nigel suspended for 2 games at a point he was tearing defences apart but there were glimpses throughout that season of how special that team couldve been not least the day we drew at ibrox scoring a magnificent team goal that started with Sampson and ended with Thommo sliding in van zantens cross and all pundits were saying we should've won. But not to worry we stayed up comfortably and the following season wee danny guided us to league cup glory!

Hope he gets a bigger job from the recent publicity. He deserves it.

Darren McGregor getting injured early on that season was a big blow.

For me, although Lennon certainly did assemble the best squads of players, I feel we underachieved considering the standard of player we had (Aaron Mooy another name to add to the list).

The attempts at Barca style passing and the continual chopping and changing of the team and formation, even during games were our downfall IMO.

If we’d been more direct and had more consistency in team selection I believe we should have been finishing top 6 with those players.

Indeed, I’d be willing to bet that if we’d had someone other than Tommy Craig as assistant then we could have fulfilled our potential.

    He was the culprit IMO

  4. And it's true. People are trolling over arguments that have been done to death & asking leading questions. What it boils down to it the club do ample in order to give great deals for our young fans. We are still a business & still need to make tough business decisions. People having an idealistic view doesn't change that.

Making money from the exploitation of sectarianism isn’t a tough business decision. It’s an easy business decision.

Taking a long term view and not allowing any Old Firm fans to attend is a tough business decision.

Encouraging supporters to boycott is a tough business decision.

  5. Is this comment to yourself and your wee pal.? Nobody cares. Learn to be civil . After all the times you have been in here you must be a real thicko not to get it....:byebye Tick tock

You obviously care otherwise you wouldn’t keep following them in here to post! [emoji1]
  6. I can assure you that lack of hope is a far bigger killer....
We will not be in the kind of disarray we have faced last year and we have Oran and the backroom team - not ASS and Jackson, takes a bung...
We are already so much stronger with who is on contract - even before we go into the transfer window...

  7. Fabulous draw - if we sack Oran and bring back the ASS we could get a draw with Edinburgh and maybes East Kilbride - The Albion game though would be hard to call.
We will top this group with 4 straight wins . . .    [emoji678]
Do you ever get the feeling that things will go a lot better for us next season?   :magic

  8. I suspect that you are feeling lost in the discussion and this attention seeking twattery is your way of coping.
Either add some original intelligent content to the discussion or identify a single intellectual flaw in his argument and prove me wrong.

I’ve enjoyed the posts on this thread.

My intention was just to be abusive to FTOF.

    He’s a twat. [emoji106]
  9. They reckon that the reason why cells with exactly the same genes produce different characteristics is down to transcription factors and the process of alternative RNA splicing. The latter process allows different forms of proteins - isoforms - to be produced by the same gene. It has been found that this process occurs far more frequently than previously believed. Studies of transcription factors have pretty much been limited due to constraints in the technology required to study it. However, the evidence obtained points towards the action of transcription factors collecting and processing information available to embryonic cells and directing them down a specific developmental pathway. Although, I find in depth reading about transcription factors and their workings makes my head hurt.

    ^^^^ pretending to be intelligent

    Nobody’s falling for it

    What a cunt [emoji1][emoji106]

HE was a reasonable defender in a not very great team - a stalwart as we got relegated.
    YOUR reply
John McGinn, Kenny McLean and Stevie Malian were in that side as well.

Presumably they’re not very good either?

Sweeper stated that someone who played for a relegated side isn’t very good.

Thanks for providing the evidence! [emoji1]
