  1. Samsons distribution was excellent, short or long, usually found a St Mirren player.

Another player who became a diddy when he left. rolleyes.gif

I never said he was a diddy, just pointing out some of his faults. Riordan used the double kick to nip in and take it off him before the second one. I agree his distribution was excellent and some of his stops were world class, but he also had glaring faults.

  2. Watched the highlights of killies game against hibs. Samson was beaten twice with shots across him, quite similar to the goals he conceded in the cup final. Admittedly I didn't get to many games to witness first hand samsons weaknesses but it would seem that's one of them.some of you more regular attendees may well have picked up on this before but could somebody tell our Danny to tell our Adam before tomorrow's game?

Let me wish all buddies on here a very happy new year. I wish I was there but duty calls and hopefully get up for a game sometime soon.orrabestnatno

Samson's big fault was that he needed 2 kicks, in general, to kick after a pass back. He is also guilty of holding the ball too long, allowing the opposition to fall back in numbers. He was really a good stopper, but he'll come back and bite me on the arse for saying that

  3. For this game I hope DL realises that we need to cover the wings (and I don't mean a 747). I have noticed the last few games that teams have a man wide right/left and we lack cover. Newton showed on Saturday that he drifted into centre mid and then had to back track fast to cover the guy on the wing. I am not criticising Newton here, only using it as an example as it happened on both wings. If a FB goes forward, a midfielder should drop back to cover that area. We were left badly exposed with 2 CBs, while the backs had gone forward, with no cover at all, and hence a big part of the defeat

  4. That was sore to watch again. I thought in the first 10 minutes we would give them a game, but the amount of midfield balls that went to their players was disgraceful. Harkins with his fancy flicks to no one, Goodwin's passing and shooting was abysmal. I could go on naming other players who didn't want to play, or the defence that was woeful. No harm to Mair as I thought he had a good enough game, but him and mcGregor not looking out for Anier. It was just not good enough

  5. Of course they require protection but they do not EXPECT to be assaulted nor are they paid enough to expect it. Should train drivers take a kicking at work as they earn considerably more than your average police officer. What you earn has no bearing on how likely you are to be assaulted in the course of your duties. Going by your code firemen can take all the ned brickings they get as they are paid sufficiently to merit it. Oh and by the way the guilty party here just happened to earn at least 5 times more than those he assaulted.

I never brought earnings into it. The fact they carry this type of ammo means they expect trouble at some point in time, similar to soldiers who carry guns wherever they are expect trouble at some point , similarly with the police. We should go back to the days when the public RESPECTED the police at a time when they didn't carry anything, bar a truncheon

  6. Why he not get a chance another signing that's never kicked a ball for us

We only get to see the surface of a guy being signed, not getting a game in the first team, and then let go. What we don't know are, possibly, issues with training, or not really as good as what we've already got.
