  1. In the absolute worst case senario then should the whole thing fall down, then yes in theory you could just be back at square one with 52% of the shares back up for sale, which is where we are at today.

    10000hours

If the CiC had to sell the 52% of the shares for some unforeseen reason in the future, where would the money go?

  2. ...

Any information that could legally be shared by the club could be scrutinised in a helpful way by our community, before committing to anything.

    It might just help.

Sid, the point I was making above relates to how the club has ignored it's community within, ie us fans.

We all want our club to suceed and if utilised correctly, we are actually a great untapped resource for the club in terms of our diverse expertise, knowledge, experience/s etc

A simple example that you can relate to, without being publicly over-critical of the club, is that of the away strip.

One post on here as a market research exercise would have shown immediately that it should have been a non-starter.

  3. More pish.....your complaint relates to a lack of consultation with the support - you appear to have completely missed the f'k'n point about what CIC status is about. It not only delivers consultation, it delivers active community involvement in the club - that is one of the key deliverables to firstly achieve the status and just as importantly for it to secure funding. CIC stands for community interest company; however, it could just as easily stand for Community Involvement Company.

So let's consider your taudry complaint in detail. The club works through an aggresive and time sensitive plan that dimwitted conspiracy theorists declared would be a disaster - the budget for the stadium would not be enough and we would end up with more debt or lose the club, the BoD weren't experienced enough therefore Barr would screw us, blah f'k'n blah.....This was a massive project for the club, an absolutely critical project for the club that has transformed our status from completely skint club on the verge of administration to a secure club with an excellent training facility.

So let's hear your petty complaints about the stadium construction??????????? Get them out there so we can compare what has been achieved by the BoD versus what you are in enough of a sulk about to seek to undermine the current process.......

    Chill.

What Kemp said applies to that rant also. "Sid, you have entirely misunderstood the point everyone is making here. Calm down and go read it all again."

I'll re-read and reply when I back tonight.

  4. A not unreasonable assumption point of view given how much we owe to Mr Gilmour, but a dangerous one none the less. In business, I don't look at what someone has done in the past, but what they deliver now, and what they intend to do in the present and future.

The present board wants out. Is the deal they are taking going to be in the best interests of the club? Or is it just the fastest way out?

    .....

The debate is certainly healthy however.

    Good post.

As a general rule, putting blind trust in any other human being is not recommended.

Can everyone say that they are perfectly happy with every aspect of the stadium that was delivered?

Apart from being impossible to please all of the people all of the time, some glaring errors were made.

Had more open consultation taken place in advance, that situation may have been avoided.

I'm simply saying that no matter how good any chairman and the members of a board are, like everyone else, they are not perfect.

Any information that could legally be shared by the club could be scrutinised in a helpful way by our community, before committing to anything.

    It might just help.

  5. It seems that the score was 4-3 to Saints.

I notice that we beat Celtic 6-3 a couple of weeks later. That was the same season we knocked them out of the cup by 4-0.

Fuxake,it takes us twenty years to get ten goals against Celtic these days.

Maybe we need to play a 2-3-5 formation again

  6.

Took a minute to find it though.

At first I thought it was sarcasm regarding the comment about the lead at the top being reduced to one point and then I found it.

It would have saved time if you'd just said to look at ....

    Spoof E-Mails

    21 May, 2007

We have had notification from some of the users of the Official Website that they have been receiving e-mails - claiming to be from us - that contain an attachment with a virus.

Please do not open the attachment - delete the e-mail as it does not come from us.

Please note that we don't send out e-mails with attachments!

Unfortunately this is something which is outwith our control as anyone with a bit of online 'know-how' can fake an e-mail address. Please note how much spoof e-mail you get claiming to be from reputable organisations like the Bank of Scotland, Ebay and Paypal to name but a few.

If you receive one of the aforementioned e-mails - do not open the attachment - delete the e-mail.

You are respectfully reminded that this news report and/or interview, as with all content on this website, is subject to copyright and the St Mirren Football Club Official Website MUST be acknowledged as the original source. Yeh, yeh, yeh.

    It's from the OS

  8. Top 5 ages.

4 months, watched Saints tour Paisley after winning Scottish Cup.

18 years, watched Saints win league.

28 years, watched Saints win Scottish Cup.

41 years, watched Saints win league.

  9. I'm at Napier Uni in Edinburgh, studying Information Technology Management. The project will be applying apppropriate business tools and frameworks to the use of online communities in football, as well as looking at theories surrounding gaining value from online communities.

I'm approximately from near Paisley and i'm not a Buddie, but i'm fairly active in the world of Scottish football online communities to have a decent grasp of the subject and to know that the St. Mirren setup and activity is as vibrant and organised as any.

And it's due in next month (for various reasons)....so i'm *almost* starting to panic!

I should have said at the start, and sort of hinted at it later, but if anyone would prefer to PM me a response then that is more than acceptable. It will of course be treated in strict confidence. cheers

Here's a LINK to a recent thread that should be helpful. It saves me re-typing some stuff that I posted. Try the search facility to dig deeper.

    Have fun with your project.

  10. So you're Shrimpergarry :P

No. I would have used a bit of multimedia.

I'm not a member of the Salvation Army either and I support only one football club.

I was on the Accord Hospice site (incidently, they need to raise £5000 per day to operate) earlier this week and noticed that donations were made through justgiving.com and I read a little on that site because I hadn't encountered it before.

When this request appeared I matched up the charity registration number on that site with the number given on the Salvation Army site. It seemed legit to me but I did a quick search to see if it was a scam and couldn't find anything. Easiest way to check was to e-mail the salvation army directly.

  11. Here's the text from the reply to my e-mail last night asking the salvation army if it was genuine fundraising.

    Dear Alan,

    Thank you for your email.

I have checked with our head of fundraising and marketing that justgiving.com is a legitimate fundraising channel. Donations through the system - although privately managed - are ringfenced so monies cannot be 'withheld' by anyone abusing the system. The justgiving.com site enables fundraisers (rather than the charities themselves) to act as an online sponsor form.

However, we have no control over what fundraisers may or may not do on external websites. We'd encourage potential donors who are unsure of the legitimacy of any given site to give directly to The Salvation Army at www.salvationarmy.org.uk.

I hope that clarifies the position. Thanks again for getting in touch with us.

    Best wishes,

    David Giles

Webmaster, The Salvation Army UK & Ireland

  12. I keep getting memory full sorta thing............

Please read the whole thing before trying anything.

It may be your "short term memory" that's lacking.

Clearing out your temporary internet files may help.

If you are confident using your filing system right click on start, go to Explore, and find in the C drive the folder within Documents and Settings then within User then within Local Settings that is called Temporary Internet Files. Another way of saying that is

    "C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files"

Open that and see how much you have stored.

You could select all of them and delete OR

the simple way to delete them regularly is to right click on your browser icon, click on Internet Properties, it should open on General tab with Temporary Internet Files being the middle section. Click on delete files. Click on ok.

If you are unsure about mucking about within the filing system, don't do it. Get help.

Spyware may also be using your system if you have nothing in place to stop it.

If you don't, then scroll down the list until you find the Free Minimum Security Measures thread by SMFCOK.

  13. I've had the same problem.

Also, trying to use pm or post if logged in as invisible tends to crash until logged in as visible.

Edited to say, of course it just worked there.

Cloaking device still isn't working properly for me.
