This is quite an interesting take on things. Tell me , if someone pointed me out to you in a pub , would you walk up to me and say" Show me your medals" or would you just keep quiet and keep the peace ?
Some people never change eh?
-
Is he at Livi?
Didn't hear about that one...
Neither did I! Seems to have flown below the radar that one.
Interesting proposal!

Buddie Awful today I'm sorry to say.
Buddie stupid team selection
and
Buddie strange tactics

he is aiming to get as many people involved ASAP. Of course, this makes financial sense from the perspective of the CIC#2 bid, but I don't see anyone else (bar Mo'well) trying to get as many of the fans involved in a football club. Nobody is having an emotional "gun" pointed at their head to join up either (ie. SMFC are not in trouble). I also understand why they didn't press ahead with mass recruitment in the past (ie. if something went wrong - it did - then it would only magnify the already poor issues of communicating with fans).
I'm a cynical auld bassa, not quite in Shull's league, but getting there. I've heard all the pros & cons, and I've seen the positive/gutsy reaction from the CIC to initial failure. This is an opportunity that would be wasted if we look back in later years. RA may not be a Saints Man, but what he is trying to do is something unique that would clearly have a large number of benefits to St.Mirren FC and its fans.....and that's from someone who has had more than his fair share of queries about the whole affair (still not happy about the £2m price though).
.
Great post Fras. Its not very often we get sensible, reasoned arguement that doesnt decay into personal insult.
You sound like the kind of chap that 10000hrs need standind tall at the turnstiles handing out leaflets and educating the supporters who lean more toward apathy!

Someone posted the tweets on one of the threads - which I found immensely informative, as they were tweeted.
Read them and you'll have the facts,,, without journalistic interpretation.
I will, if/when I find them. Tweeting is not part of my tinternet repertoire,

This is why you should have gone to the meeting.
Div,
Any chance of a B & W army journalistic piece on the ins and outs of last night?
I couldn't make the meeting and ive been trying to decipher the ins and outs on the various threads but im getting lost in the child like uninformed debate that is both the strength and downfall of free speech.
-
Appreciate that, I spoke to him briefly this afternoon but he was having major IT issues at Maxi so he wasn't in a position to talk right now.
either that or he was having a shit

That is a very interesting point. However, it has dafties like you that have been posting bollox upon bollox about REA and the CIC that have been guilty of trying to mislead the support with unwarranted negative speculation and malicious rumours.
Correctomundo.
That is why we need not pay attention to this Animal character and his numerous aliases.
-
Getting involved is good, right anyone got anything else to talk about?
-
I think when you said RA drags people out to give his plan a veneer of credibility was maybe something to do with it.
Are we going over all this old ground again?
The meeting on Thursday night was a "Members" meeting. If you wish to know what happened at the meeting then you should have joined and attended!
The details of the cic need not be poured over on here again.....

Agree with the last few posts. Te deal being signed will be a major milestone but it is really only the beginning of the whole project. There are some causes for concern but these are, for me, far outweighed by the massive possibilities this offers the club, the community and the supporters.
Once it is signed I hope the information and communication with the fans improves significantly, which I am sure it will once the necessary confidentiality restraints that have been in place up to now have been lifted.
Very true Div,
Furthermore if our team can keep up this fantastic form and the "feel good" factor remains for a while yet then that alone may add a few numbers.
The difference in demand for seats on our supporters bus is an indicator that St Mirren fans are re-energised by this!
Long may it continue!
-
Guys, this is a topic about the club being SOLD, NEXT WEEK. Can we keep on topic please !!
Well said.
I really hope this is true, its already been a great start and this takeover being completed along with 3pts at Tannadice would be fantastic for our club.

That would only be likely if Paisley was moved to engerland...
Why yes Bluto it would and if we ever do then I would vote for RA!
RA FOR MAYOR!
-
If Paisley ever needs a mayor then I would vote RA!
-
Would I like a non St Mirren supporting businessman who is not a football fan to be the Chairman of St Mirren Football Club?
Hmmmmmmm
I'm sure there must be better candidates out there.
Is the person who had the foresight and ingenuity to bring about the first cic football takeover in Scotland be the best person to be the first chairman and to steer the good ship St Mirren through those initial unchartered waters?
Probably!
-
To be fair, this poll won't really mean much.
Many of those who will vote will never be members of the cic so they will never get to cast a vote in the real world.
Bring on the first real cic vote. I can't wait to see it all unfold for real!
-
I would say as a CIC member you do deserve to know.
Will the conditions guarantee a SMISA member getting a seat on the SMFC board?
I agree David, indeed as a cic member we NEED to know. But we don't need to know what the "conditions" are at this early stage. After the cic people have agreed to the conditions and its going to be accepted then the cic membership should (and im sure will) ne told. But we don't need to know what conditions smisa have attached to the offer just yet, as it stands that for smisa members.
-
SMISA already hold shares in St Mirren.
What is your personal gripe with Richard Atkinson or your grievance with the consortium getting money for their shares?
I notice Animal/Yul has failed to answer you Mr Zo. He probably doesnt have a proper answer!
One of the huge positives about the cic is the democratic decision process (that Smisa also appear to have) that negates these lone "lunatic" voices.
As ive said before Smisa are a great organisation run by very decent and capable people. The fact that Smisa have shown support for the cic after undoubtedly doing research is a huge indicator that the cic WILL be very good for St Mirren fc.
Well done to Smisa, I am very interested to see what the conditions are (as a cic member) but as a non smisa member I don't deserve/need to know just yet.
As a member of the cic (when it all starts up) im genuinely pleased that Smisa will be on board.

Chris Porter looks set to drop into league one with Chesterfield sniffing around him and Darryl Duffy still looking for a club. Carlisle knocked him back.
Wouldnt mind Porter in the stripes.
That would be a good signing.
-
I have added some more you missed.
Well done Sid.....

**SPECULATION THREAD**

Well i only sjgned up to discuss the cic and yea it is. Theres one question i would like you 2 to answer. Why would a successful buisness man with a company 10 times the size of St Mirren risk damaging his reputation by pretending to offer something which then turns out to be a con and sees him sieze the club at the expense of the fans?
Good point young man.
Its becoming increasingly obvious that this "Animal" alias of someone else is quite unhinged.
The cic is easy, like it then join it, don't like it then don't.
Posters like "Animal" only serve to damage the club and the cic as some genuine people will have read his posts without realising he is in fact a loon. The cic is happening whether people like it or not. I will support it and do everything that I can to help make it work. If it fails then at least I tried.
The CIC needs the support of decent St Mirren fans. Lets MAKE this work!
-
And you expect to get a team of 11 from Paisley...!!! :
I dont think St Mirren Ladies Vs Morton Ladies would be much of a spectacle

Quote of the day goes to RA
