  1. I would like to see the creation and subsequent development of a ladies football team linked with SMFC.

We could start an attractive womans football league.

Basically players are not picked on there footballing ability but for there looks. That would sell the tickets!

  2. The facts are that TTH are using 8 different funding routes to raise their £2m. A maximum of £1.2m of that will be repayable, £800k will be in the form of grants.

If TTH get all of that funding then it means as far as I am concerned that those 8 organisations are happy that they are investing or loaning money to a project that meets their criteria and that in the case of a loan that they are confident also of getting their money back.

As an aside there are additional funders whose criteria specifically don't allow for the buying out of shares from a private company who the CIC could only approach for funding post-takeover. Those funds could also potentially be used to help the CIC carry out specific initiatives once they have control.

This thread should have died some time ago. The current matter you are debating is WAY off at a tangent from the original point.

Stop replying to the mischief makers. This thread is probably doing more harm to the cic than good now.

  3. This thread is a measure of the decrease in quality of this forum.

Why is anyone giving thie "animal" who is obviously an alias the time of day?

Why would any reasonable person still be remotely interested in people volunteering too hand out leaflets weeks ago!

Why do we allow these conversations to continue as the bile contained in them can only serve to damage the cic. People WILL use this forum as a point of reference from time to time.

  4. Far be it for me to speak on behalf of Richard Atkinson or 10000Hours but he posted this on the official site yesterday

    Re: Question and Answer Evening

We have some important meetings coming up which will confirm the involvment or not of two significant funders.

If this goes well then we will have another public meeting.

However I am also more than happy to meet you one on one if it makes your travel arrangements easier.

If this appeals then please drop me an e-mail to [email protected]

    Richard Atkinson

    On behalf of 10000hours

    Well done.

These 10000hrs fellows really are on the ball.

  5. Unless you've been privy to the other deals offered I don't see how you can make an informed judgement on that.

I'm not saying it isn't. I just can't say it is as no one has made public the details of any other offers that were put to the outgoing consortium and what was claimed by those bidders, re their objectives and desires for Saint Mirren FC.

All I know is the outgoing shareholders are getting their asking price if the CiC succeeds in getting financilal backing.

I won't vote here as I said I changed my mind on the OS poll.

My decision is based on a lot more than the rantings of hotdiggity and Yul, in case you ask.

This could change again depending on the suggested meeting touted by div.

That sounds like a clear indication that a further meeting/presentation is needed.

It is a worry that the cic may have lost some momentum due to the time delay between the previous meetings and the forms going out.

If a further bout of meetings are announced I would encourage EVERY ST MIRREN supporter who has not pledged to attend. Information costs nothing and I am confident that the more fans who hear what the cic has to say then the more fans that will sign up for it.

  6. I see today in the daily record there is speculation that we are after Hughes and Patterson:-

St Mirren boss Danny Lennon keen on ex-Motherwell duo Stephen Hughes & Jim Paterson

    May 31 2011

ST MIRREN are tracking Stephen Hughes and Jim Paterson as they bid to add some experienced SPL campaigners to their squad.

It is understood the Buddies have held talks with the agent of Norwich midfielder Hughes about a move to Paisley.

The 28-year-old still has one year remaining on his deal at Carrow Road but is unlikely to feature much for Paul Lambert's side in the Premiership.

St Mirren hope to tempt the former Motherwell and r*ngers star back north but face competition from his old club Motherwell and Aberdeen.

Paterson, meanwhile, is a free agent following his release from relegated League One outfit Plymouth.

The 31-year-old left-back has heaps of SPL experience from his time with Dundee United and Motherwell so would be a useful addition to Danny Lennon's squad.

We do have some younger players at the club as a wee bit of experience wont go amiss.

  7. Same person -not plural

Imagine having to create duplicate personas to give any weight to your cause.

    Your post is worthless.

Every question that could have been asked has been asked by now has been thrice over.

The good people from 10000hrs have better things to do so behave yourself.

  8. It would certainly be something I would be open to.

My stance has changed somewhat as the process has developed from being ready to commit to being very suspicious of the CiC and the motives behind the proposers of the idea's involvement.

as things stand my DD is still in my in box and will remain there till I am better convinced that this is good for our club.

Have you been listening to people on this forum?

If so then you shouldnt be trusted with your own bank card never mind an adult decision over something like the cic.

Get it filled in, get it posted and behave yourself!

  9. Dear Div,

Any chance you could photocopy all the completed application forms and send them off to the address of my colleague in Nigeria which I will forward to you. I promise not to take any money from the accounts until the CIC sceme is up and running. Please don't worry about the data protection issues and the like. I really am an honest guy.

If your going to be a smartarse then at least try and spell properly.

    Away and seek attention elsewhere.

  10. Unbelievable that anyone wouldn't at least try to understand the proposal if they have doubts. You really have to wonder if the West of Scotland negative mentality will ever change? Happy wallowing in despair and criticising as a reflex.

Anything that involves effort or is something new will always attract a negative response from the apathetic.

To give an example. Last years sportsmans dinner for our supporters club attracted some critics on this site. The price, the venue, the speakers I arranged were all criticised by posters on here who had no intention of going in the first place. The night went ahead, was a roaring success and we made enough money for our bus to run for the rest of the season.

The cic is attracting the very same response. People who have not even had the decency to find out about the concept are asking the same repetive (and often stupid) questions and plucking criticisms out of the air.

The cic will go ahead, will be a success and will contribute in a positive way toward the community and St Mirren.

  11. I was at the POTY dinner last night and the chat about the CIC was frightening.

The amount of people that have a negative view based on shear apathy & ignorance was incredible. Season ticket holders who haven't been to any of the public meetings with nothing more to say than "it's pish, it'll no work, what's in it for him?"

If this is going to work then as many fans & members of the community need to be involved. When you've got nuggets like this it makes it difficult. It's almost as if they want it to fail just so they can say I told you so.

    Great post

  12. No shifting of goalposts from me.

I've always said I'm not going to sign up, I've always said I have my doubts and i've said all along that I really want it to work out though. That's what we all want at the end of the day, whatever is best for St Mirren.

You can't please all the people all the time. Its natural some people wont like it, just as long as enough are to make a success of it.

  13. I thought I made it very clear. But here goes - I will try again.

I think you should be ashamed of yourself for asking people, SOME WHO CAN ILL AFFORD IT, to put their hard earned cash into a scheme which will let a multi millionaire take over our football club with out paying a penny of his own money. The money screwed out of loyal supporters will simply be used to pay the interest on the debt run up by the this same multi millionaire.

Is that clear enough for you ???

    I couldn't sleep at night

Is that why you are not the full shilling?

As I said before, 600+ people supporting the CIC so your rantings are thankfully a waste of time.

  14. Surely a man of your means would be investing in an 87 club membership. You would get your name in lights at the club - I am sure if you gave Richie Rich an extra monkey he would let you stick a photo of your fat face on the 87 club hall of fame too. :P

    Why be so abusive?

  15. At least Sheiks and the like would use their own money. I know, of course, no one is being forced to sign up but met two guys today who have signed up, and I know they are struggling financially to pay their bills. They are lifetime Saints fans, like myself, but they feel obliged to help out the Club they love.

Their £120 quid should be going to put food on the family table, not used to finance a scheme dreamed up by a multi millionaire who is not putting his hand in his pocket.

The former directors took an informed risk with their own money and it seems are about to be well rewarded for that risk.

I want no part in encouraging those who can least afford it, to pay for a multi millionaire's cost free take over of our club and neither should you.

Quite franklly thats none of your business. If these gentleman/ladies have made the decision to support the CIC then thats up to them. Other peoples financial freedom/choices should not concern you.

There are other things I could have spent my £120 on, also the £285 quid I spent on my seaon ticket, or the membership fees of a supporters club but I choose to spend it on St Mirren.

We get your point that you will not be investing, thankfully 600+ saiints fans will be and as such the CIC will be a success.
