  1. I handed out some leaflets myself today and I must say I was happy to do so!

This is happening so the childish complaints and rants are, well.............childish.

No one is being forced to back this so if your not happy then dont join. Personally I think this is a very good thing for St Mirren FC and I will be investing accordingly.

    Thats the thing about choice!

  2. I was checking out the emailed link to the article on the 10000Hours site.

It seems the Life Church provide support for people with life-controlling problems. That's a novel way to describe people who are completely fucked up, but I quite like it :)

It seems they intend to develop a support initiative specifically aimed at St Mirren supporters, next season, launching it to coincide with the split. They hope to support many of us with bowel-controlling problems.

= People who are vulnerable and easy to convert.

In short, "we will help you deal with your issues as long as you accept our faith".

That said, im still happy they are peddling there nonsense at our ground as it benefits the club. :)

  3. I imagine as the majority of people who post on here are obviously interested in St. Mirren they may be more inclined to support a proposal like this.

It's not a poll of the general public!

Well yes, but the general public are also unlikely to support our football club in such a way.

It really is the opinion of the fans that matter for the cic and not the old firm supprting masses who would rather moan about ginger lennon's treatment or sing about a religious groups blood on there knees than know anything of the cic.

  4. Don't think I saw HSS there unless he adorned a gingy wig and concealed himself amongst our many ginger supporters - frightening percentage of the room were screaming gingers - I am now concerned we may end up with a ginger pressure group in control of the club.

A lot of faces I would have expected to see over the last couple of meeting weren't there, but to be fair they may have been at the many other flavours of meeting - SMiSA, supporters buses and I think there is a shareholders one in the planning?

Im surpirised if HSS didnt go as he has been vocal on the subject.

As for the bold bit that will be exactly why. I and others from my supporters club attended the first public meeting and then the one specifically for supporters clubs. Im sure a number like me did not feel the need to hear it all for a third time.

Thats said, I was looking forward to HSS's input as I was hoping to hear his informed opinion on the mattrer.

  5. Sid - you've been around the internet for years now. I would have thought that the fact I quoted someone prior to my post, you might have realised that I was repsonding to their comment. Yes it's off topic - but I didn't take it there....

Don't let Sid get to you, he us a tortured soul who finds comfort as an internet assasin. More to be pitied than laughed at!

Don't let him ruin what is otherwise a good thread SD!

    Right back on topic.....

I like the sports science idea.....something that would benefit the club and the community.

  6. Its very healthy to encourage this type of debate. Hopefully with the numbers involved in the CIC then we will have no shortage of good ideas.

A fellow drinker in the Bull Inn last night suggested this for one of the corners.

A St Mirren physio centre that can be utilisied by the playing squad, members if the public (fee paying of course or reffered by the NHS) and other community organisations.

Could we revisit a gym? This may be more difficult since much of the would be membership quite rightly followed the last venture to Seedhill.

  7. Green dots are all good and well but what about some ideas, give people something to think about how the membership should operate. You never know we might come up with some good ideas.

I think the child/juvenile membership is important as not only are they the fans of the future but also the future of the CIC so they should have their own say to gain the experience for becoming full members.

Yes they are. Considering the green dot was given because the original poster was giving ideas and giving people something to think about makes me wonder why you felt the need to type the first line of your post.

Personally I would liken the membership fee's to remain, even after the original loans have been paid off.

Its all money that is going straight into the club!

  8. Does mean the decision has already been made though!

Don't really see what there is to vote against. If you don't like something about the idea then there is the opportunity to get involved a change it.

Surely voting against it is a bit like saying I don't trust myself to run the club or I can't be bothered running the club?

We are at that stage now. Childish bickering will occur whatever the proposal is but the main issue now is

    Q) Now that all the information that anyone could want has been offered will you be investing?

Its a straight yes or no.

Im actually quite excited by the prospect and what it means for our club.

  9. What I find somewhat moronic is that for years - at least as many as I can remember - St Mirren fans have berated Old Firm fans about them not supporting their local football club. Yet here is an opportunity for the local football club to support it's local community and time and time again I see people posting about how they want their full tenner to go to the playing side of the club and that they couldn't care less about the community element of the project. Indeed I've even seen posts referring to a possible conflict between the community interest and that of the football club. I can only assume that those people haven't got the mental agility to figure out that support from the local community isn't a one way street....

Good post.....think I shall lie down now!

  10. So people who haven't made up their mind yet or are against the CiC are unreasonable people who don't care for St Mirren?

Ive just read this again and its still daft.

Anyway, did you enjoy the meeting? Will you be supporting the cic? Will you be advising others to invest in it or avoid it?

Im sure you will be even wiser now and your opinion much more valuable!

  11. So I can safely assume you don't really understand your own bold statement ""with each "social inclusion target" or whatever they are called that the CIC meet the interest/amount outstanding will also reduce.""

You see that is the basic problem.

There are lots of, in the main, well meaning folk on here who are willing to support, financially and in kind, a scheme that they clearly do not understand the detail of in the hope it will help their football team. The fact is they are paying the interest on money borrowed by an unelected board who will really run their club.

No the problem is you keep yacking on and on.

    RussellVI answered you extemely well.

  12. I was asking jimdickloyal for his input as he implied he knew the answer. Not you St Atkinson. I see you have resorted to your usual abusive language. Is that all you can manage ?

I have better things to do.

    Why don't you

    a) stick your question in the appropriate thread

    or

    B) go to tonights meeting and ask your question

B is the best option for whatever your question was again.

  13. I'm not arguing and I'm not berating.

If anything I'm more in favour of the CiC than against it.

You've hit the nail on the head with "everyone needs to make up there own mind on this".That's what I've been saying all along while you were encouraging everyone to sign up because SMiSA have.I cannot see any posts where I am arguing about or putting down the CiC.

Once again you are making things up.

The fact that Smisa are backing it should install some confidence in those who are unsure. I have previously stated the reasons why.

As to why such a reasonable statement makes you spit the dummy is entirely beyond me.

Im sure you will find the meeting both informative and enjoyable. I did.

  14. Look if Dodgy Dan the Demolition Man put a deal on the table to buy the shares for £5m and the consortium sold out. A year later he closed the club and turned the ground in to a donkey derby stand. We the fan could do nothing about this.

The CiC is not being sold as the saviour of the Club. In some respect it is an experiment.

Whats the worst that could happen. The CiC fails and goes in to administrations. The shares are then sold to an individual who the fans don’t know. Its no different to the club being sold to that person right now. (The CiC is the only show in town, there is no plan B)

The CiC will only fail if the fans let it fail.

No disrespect to the current Board. But I do not want another year like last year for our club. We lack direction, initiative and vision and are currently not progressing as a club. The CiC will certainly bring new blood and new ideas.

I have a concern that the guys involved are not St Mirren or “football” guys. But looking at the state of Scottish Football as a whole which is run by “football” guys then that is maybe not real concern.

    Have another green dot Gruff.

I hope many read that post.

  15. I'm not imposing my opinion on any meeting and I don't need to be informed to know that I,or anybuddie else, should be swayed because SMiSA say so.

I wonder if I still bought The Sun if I'd be voting SNP this year.

Yes you are. Why didn't you just wait until after you had attended the meeting before arguing with people about the CIC?

Everyone needs to make up there own mind on this but at least become informed yourself before berating those who already have.

  16. Maths seems fine to me! The interest can be as high as 8% so the debt is maximum of circa 1.3million, although with more grants/quicker repayments/social return on investment/lower interest rates it'll probably be lower. Also noteworthy that not every corporate membership holder may be paying £10,000 - it's negotiable depending on what they want for their money (seats) and what they can offer.

10000 hours said on a different thread that there were other corporate pledges though they were just making sure everything was solid before updating the site and holidays were getting in the way, so hopefully that number will jump a bit in the coming days.

Financially I think we'll be all right under this proposal. Given this is only membership fees we're talking about and we're not considering the extra trading money then I think we'll have most of the debts paid back earlier than expected!

I get annoyed by David_Morrison as much as the next person but you appear to have the grasp of it here

Just to add, with each "social inclusion target" or whatever they are called that the CIC meet the interest/amount outstanding will also reduce.

  17. But the SMiSA members are just the same as you and me,individuals with an opinion.Just because they they are in a group of Saints Fans dosent make their opinion any better than yours or mine.

I have still to decide what to do,tomorrows meeting may sway me one way or the other, but I certainly won't make a decision because SMiSA are backing the CiC.

And neither should you. You SHOULD however wait until you have attended said meeting before imposing your opinion as without being properly informed you are merely making a nuisance of yourself.
