What a day!
Me and my pal missed most of the 1st half as we stayed in the pub too long, but that 2nd half was immense!
Cheers for posting this - happy days.
Was it not 87-88 season, btw?

Don't think that was on here.
Had a search - the secret life of midges - on I player. Not available yet, but saw a wee clip of climbers at Polldubh slabs. Surrounded by massive clouds of the buggers! Horrific.
Did the guy Logan suggest a cure/remedy...?
Sadly not. Ended with 'stick with whatever works for you'.
Fairly interesting programme, though. Actually have a grudging respect for the wee buggers now..

Was that against Ayr at Somerset? Recall Basher getting sent off and I think we ended up with 8 men that day.
The spitting incident? I think you could be right there

My memories of Charnley at St Mirren are a little hazy, but I seem to remember him scoring directly from a free kick from an impossible angle at Love Street (my mental image is placing it somewhere around Cairter's Corner - anyone remember it?).
That aside, did he not leave under a cloud after gobbing in someone's face during a match?
Like I said, my memories of him are hazy but I certainly wouldn't place him in the 'legend' category..

Cowboy v Ayr in 1980
Belter!
I've still got mine - my son has worn it to a couple of matches but he's not keen on the material.
100% polyester. Oof.

Cameron Howieson was being interviewed by BBC Alba up at the Saints exhibition at the Museum this afternoon.
His great-great grandfather was James Howieson, a member of Saints' 1926 cup winning team, and he was being interviewed about this for a piece that'll be shown before the Raith Rovers game next Friday.

Elements of this forum are beginning to read like comments on Mail Online

I understand all right but we are on the General Nonsense Section of a Football Forum, where one person is totally ripping the pish out of a few others.
Entertainment.
This from the guy who expressed dismay at the amount of abuse being dished out among 'fellow St Mirren fans' on another thread (I've neither the time or inclination to trawl through yr posts to find it, but it was fairly recently).
Nazi barbs are OK, though, cos that's entertaining.

I don't care who has won or lost, Shull. Just curious but wish the bloody thing would go away.
I'm curious too. Curious as to how someone is allowed to come onto a (generally) friendly forum and repeatedly throw toxic and offensive Nazi / Fascist insults at anyone who's views differ from their (ironically) right wing philosophy.
I haven't read the forum rules in a while but I would have thought this type of abuse would be high on the list of unacceptable behaviour.
Political argument and discussion is one thing, but when it descends into venomous and offensive rhetoric surely a line has to be drawn.

Years ago, Jools Holland brought his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra to Paisley Town Hall and I was on follow spot for the gig. I don't remember too much about the show except being transfixed by Rico's trombone playing and trying to get my head around the fact I was watching him play in Paisley.
Shook his hand after the show but was too starstruck to make any attempt at conversation.

Used to go there to watch the salmon jumping when I was a kid. Lovely wee place..Feck of Kieran

Is it Lex Richardson back row 2nd from left?
No. He didn't join us til 1976
-
A very young Tony Fitz second from right in back row? Only other one I recognise is Billy Johnston.
Yup, those were the only two I recognised!

He played for Scotland U-21's v Norway and that's the strip he swapped for his Scotland jersey.
No real strip regulations those days.
He also had a cool yellow & black Wales Adidas jersey that he wore frequently when playing for us.
Guy was a maverick

Clowns. They make my skin crawl.
'It' style creepy clowns don't bother me at all, it's the standard circus / children's entertainer types that make me squirm.
It's apparently a fairly common issue and is called coulrophobia.

Smell the Glove.
.. too much f***ing perspective..

He'll always be Sir Dennis Eton-Hogg to me..

Sad news. My mum and dad went to see him at the old Apollo and they said he apologised to the audience about the state of the place..

I couldn't give a Petrofeck about the Petrofac Cup. Nonsense and meaningless competition.
Didn't feel meaningless the day we lost the final (heavily) to Falkirk in the Fir Park blizzard, and even less so when we eventually won it 10 years ago..

Hope not - he hates that duckCuddles.

Just been reading that he apparently turned down the chance to appear on an episode of Extras as he objected to his 'character' being portrayed as racist and/or sexist. Ricky Gervais said he just didn't get the joke. Keith Chegwin ended up with the part
"it's Turning Into A Rout"
in General St. Mirren Discussion

My mistake!
That's what happens to yr memory when you spend too much time in Dundee pubs on matchdays..
