  1. Ah I see you are yet another Grammarian who left school without comprehension skills. rolleyes.gif

I knew you lacked comprehension skills but didn't realise you went to the Grammar. Good that you acknowledge your deficiencies however.

If you read my post again you will see that I have identified a CIC currently in existence where membership perks are offered that won't cost either the football club or the CIC a single penny. However even if there was a perk - say like a free football top - it still wouldn't need to come out of the playing budget. All you would need to do is structure payment for the perk to ensure the football club is compensated by the CIC for the goods that it is using.

If I read your post again I'll see that you quite clearly haven't got a clue what you're talking about.

Offering "membership" perks for CIC members will either need to be paid for by the CIC, thus reducing the CIC's income or paid for by the club, thus shafting the club itself, the other 48% of shareholders and the supporters.

Eiether way, "membership" perks is a ridiculous idea. But then again, that's what I'd expect from you.

  2. Super Saints - I agree with most of this post. Look the reality is that you are right. You are getting nothing tangible for your money and in the main you will only get an odd vote every now and again either at elections, or when there is a contentious decision to be made for Scottish Football where a group of members have petitioned the board to call an EGM.

I suggested membership perks ages ago - and specifically suggested free car parking for members only to be told that it may be a possibility but that it would be a decision for the elected football board because they would have to deal with loss of revenue to the playing budget. Look at the response on here when Sid suggested a £20 discount on season tickets for members or even the reaction when details emerged of the 1877 club where people are paying £25k for a St Mirren suit - there were still some complaining that this was money coming out of the club budget to fund the CIC.

Maybe once everything is in place there will be membership perks. I still think it should be entirely possible to do it in a way that doesn't affect playing budget anyway - after all that's what Clyde do - but as will always be the case it's going to be down to those on the member and club boards and members like me will have to hope that they've got the vision to see a bigger picture.

You are suggesting that the CIC use the club's facilities and take money out the club - at the expense of the other 48% of shareholders and the supporters - in order to fund the purchase of their 52% of shares and line the pockets of Stewart Gilmour & Co?

  3. He invites it. He has offered nothing constructive. He has accepted no answers given to him.

He has taken offence at the smallest things. When I have added constructive comments to his thread they are either completely ignored, purposefully twisted or half a sentence is highlighted and argued.

When he has run out of negative things to say, he jumps on another bandwagon. He used to offer good counter-debate to this topic but sadly that had gone. Is this what the "anti" brigade are reduce to, taking offence at what annoymous Internet aliases post on a football forum?

I have added plenty, both positive and critical to this debate - so your accusation is entirely false. However on a thread that is all about someone imagninery being pretend offended by other fake people, I will offer very little in the way of serious comment.

On the contrary, IMO Somner9's posts have been great.

And he is correct that the pro CIC clique end up hurling abuse at anyone whose opinion differs.

  4. The 87 Club Membership lists the following benefits:

    • Free car park pass with reserved priority space.
    • Exclusive game-by-game draw for guaranteed Directors’ box seating at either home or away fixtures.
    • Your name on a new 87club members plaque, located in the stadium, noting your key participation in bringing St Mirren into community control.
    • 87club business directory and online advertising - distributed among members to encourage fellow members to buy your products, or use your services.

The Non-Executive Membership lists the following:

Access to the directors guest lounge on match days for first year

Use of the club boardroom during normal office hours for business meetings

Presumably the CIC will be paying St. Mirren FC for the use of the club's facilities?
