..........would take some really freaky results for us to finish 11th now.
Ask Elvis. He's probably worked out every conceivable way it could happen.
-
If Killie lose tomorrow we are 100% safe.
If they don't we are all but safe, would take some really freaky results for us to finish 11th now. We only could by Goal Difference.
Won't happen though, we are safe, promise ;)
I genuinely believe we will beat Killie and Hearts to end up with 44 points.
-
I think even a draw in that game is enough.
I've done some quick stats and I think there is a sequence of results which could see Killie & Ross County finish above us with Hibs, Partick & St. Mirren tied on goal difference.
Can't work out a sequence where we can be overtaken beyond goal difference.
But it would have to be an incredible run of results for this to happen. If any of the remaining 7 games are drawn then I think its over.
Well done for working that out. I had a stab at it but gave up and decided just to let my arse twitch for another four days.

Not a bad day. Goodwin didn't even get booked...
Ale tonight...!
Not for me sadly, coz I'm offshore, but I'll be in Dubai on my way home on Wednesday night, so I'll be able to have a few beers to celebrate beating Killie.

Full time 1-0!!'
Yes!!
Good man Lex. I'll buy you a few beers if we ever meet.
It's going to take me an hour or so to calm down here.

Frankly, I couldn't give a shit if M*rt*n score 11 in the last minute for a win - I only want to hear about the final whistle at Paisley
-
All saints now. You all know what's coming next don't you
Aye, the final whistle. Are you Elvis's stand-in?
-
Goodwin having a blinder in the middle of the park, Saints playing well and looking the more likely.
Saints fans sing there's only one Jamie Hammill... 5 to go. Hold it...
Don't do this to us lex..... hold what??????? I'm litterally shitting my breeks over here.
-
And Hibs down to 10 men.
Come on Saints. Pressing F5 every 10 seconds here.
Why so slow?
-
a GREGG WYLDE!!'n
1-0!!!
RAKER!
Excellenty.
Is this the point where Elvis comes on and forecasts two late goals for County?
-
Continue to press on, a mirror image of the first half really. A lot of niggly fouls by County, surprised no yellows yet.
You're welcome for the updates, the best place to go is the BAWA twitter feed though, far more regular and Div is manning it today so better quality too ;)
Sadly Twitter and loads of other sites are blocked out here.

HT 0-0.
Even game really I guess. We started brighter, County finished brighter. A couple of half chances for either side but nothing clear cut.
Definitely a bit of needle here. Slew diving anytime anyone goes near him, Adams screaming like a wean anytime anything goes against them.
Big second half coming up, come on!
Thanks for the regular updates Lex. I'm reading this from almost 5,000 miles away and you're pretty much all I've got. I'm also reading Sporting Life updates, but they are about 5 minutes behind real time and they ain't telling me the bits I really need to know.
-
Apparently rat face Adams refused Danny's hand before the game.
If that's true it's bad news, but how can we hate him more than we already do?
-
I'd imagine if it is Thommo, then he'll be on the bench in case he's needed.

I know this season ain't over yet, but northendsaint mentioned on the, "Jim Goodwin on the Radio", thread that Declan Hughes looks ready to step up to the first team, and some discussion followed about having to bring him in gradually rather than drop him in at the deep end.
I figure that pre-season frendlies are the ideal opportunities to do this with younger players and also trialists looking to get a contract. However, in recent years, our choice of pre-season opposition has hardly set the pulse racing, or set a high standard against which to measure youngsters or prospective signings.
Long time gone, but not forgotten, were the days when we brought major attractions to Paisley - especially in the days of the Paisley Cup. Personally, I'd like to see us return to the days where we lined upo a couple of games that would attract more interest and provide stiffer tests than the like of Dumbarton (no offence) and teams from the Skrill League.
I'm not suggesting we try to bring the elite of Europe to Paisley, but perhaps we could be bringing up mid-table English Premiere clubs - like we eventually did last year with Newcastle. I always felt we never made the best of connections with former players & managers, like Stevie Clarke and Aelx Miller - both in terms of arranging friendlies and also in getting loan players. Hopefully Stevie finds a new club in the Premiership and we can start to take advantage of that.
Does anyone know of any reason why the Paisley Cup could not be re-introduced?

5) The following people are well known Paisley characters who are fondly remembered
a- Minging MIlly and Bert the Bastard
b- TaTa Bella and Cuthbert
c- Paulo Nutini and Davie Sneddon
Tata Bella and Cuthbert I remember (age giveaway) but D Sneddon I am trying hard to forget.

Paisley Piranha?
Good name. I was wondering what he'd be cod.
Sould he be sponsored by M'Gills?
Can't say I'm keen on the fin stripes.

I've heard his days are numbered - being replaced by this guy...
Quality

This is a wind-up, right

Saints to win 3-0 (Jim Goodwin hat-trick)
Crowd: 8765
Pies sold: 1234
Number of times D Adams is abused by Saints fans in 90 minutes: 36,342

I quite like it apart from the size of the sponsor.
Can't say I quite like it, but I don't hate it either. Ambivalent is the word I'm robably looking for.
However, I have to agree that the badge on the front is just a joke.
-
Very true.
Maybe they should release a third kit with blue and white squares like an Italian restaurant table cover!
Don't put ideas in their heads
-
Don`t see how . The team finishing in 11th has to wait two weeks with no competitive football before they take on a team that has won through two previous ties & are on a roll
And therefore have two weeks to get injured players fit, while the team they play has had four cup-tie style games where their players could easily lick up bad knocks.
On that subject, would red or yellow cards, picked up by the Championship teams in the qualifying games, rule them out of the final play-off games against the Premier League side?
