1. John Hillcoat
2. Shuggie Murray ( was never afraid to stick the boot in)
3.Roy Aitken
4. Billy Abercrombie
5.John Cowboy McCormack
6.Tommy Turner
7. Jens Paeslick (he looked like a big scarey bastard)
8.Jimmy Bone
9. Kenny McDowell
10 Barry Lavety (Used to see him with a bottle of beer standing outside kennedy's the night before a game)
11.Chic Charnley
Boss Fergie
Outstanding, would quite happily watch that eleven every week ,well start with eleven and finish with six

Surely Tommy noted my meltdown when Novo was previously in circulation, or faraway alerted him to it.
It the man has an ounce of compassion, he couldn't possibly consider signing the despicable wee c**t, no? He must know that it would be the end of me. Whether it be a stroke, aneurysm, or massive coronary failure, I would undoubtedly meet an untimely demise.
I have a family Tommy. If not for me, please think about my wife and children.
Please....
Ive heard he thinks about your wife VERY regularly

Apologies if I'm missing it but not seen mention of this story saying McGregor has had talks with Hearts,
Great bunch of comments from League one fans thinking they should be signing better and questioning who he is....just like their
2nd liquidation headed big brothers.
Wouldn't be happy to be left with one inconsistent Centre half on the books.
So you would rather we keep him and have TWO inconsistent centre halfs ? Our money seemed to be good enough when he was sitting on his arse for months on end,if he wants to go then let him, obviously there will be calls for this "legend" to be given a "Dazza" night but who am i to argue

I wish Conor all the very best for his future career. He has some talent, works hard and has a good attitude so deserves to do well. However, without wanting to be controversial, I never rated him. Yes, he scored a goal in the cup final to write himself into folklore but he was anonymous in far too many games (sometimes for weeks on end) and struggled to influence games in the same way that our other midfielders could.
Just my opinion though and as I say, I wish the boy all the besSo
So, in other words, thanks for THAT goal, thought you were generally pish but all the best mate ? Spot on

FFS,get this pish moved etc

A quotation commonly made by those who were not about in those days or have a false memory.
Give me our shiny new all seated home any day. As much as a tear was brought to my wrinkled old eyes when I last left Love Street I can safely say that our new ground is better and is now our home. One can urinate in our new ground on a wet day without getting rained upon and one can watch a full game without the view being partially blocked by the pillars.
Greenhill Road is our home
Greenhill Road it has a dome
The street of Love we have left
but of good times we are not bereft
Being in my late forties i can assure you my memories of Love St are clear as day,as for your quote "Give me our shiny new all seated home any day" You are a f**king clown

Fleetwood Town
Tidy wee ground with great facilities
...and a tram ride away from my house
"Tidy" being an understatement, that stand looks f**king awesome

How's about a special night where we invite the man to a celebration of his time with the Saints....!
Proceeds going to the youth set up and a charity of Vanzy's choice.
It may even see for one night only the Vankini..?
I' sure lots of the players would come along for the fun.
Any thoughts?
Just thought given the posts from peeps wishing they'd been able to s Cheerios to Danny what about a....
"VAN DAN" night..?
How about we stop brown nosing every saints player who leaves us ? hes about five years past his sell by date.Let him leave quietly and with the dignity his farewell post signified
-
Atmosphere, terracing, good players and having a fag in the enclosure, happy days very sorely missed
-
All we need are an immediate replacement for cheesy and an experienced "good" centre forward to compliment Thompson.Hey presto, thats three league placings higher up right there. This management pish is so easy
-
Lets hope so Griff, let us hope so indeed!
I am suddenly really excitied about the season ahead, really I am. JIm Goodwin and Gary Teale will command the respect of fellow professional's (and righty so), Thommo commands the respect of everyone and anyone and wee Tommy will sit atop his footballing castle making the decisions like a chess master.
Despite the childish murmur's of the less experienced Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co supporter's on this very forum I cannot see anything but improvement in our situation.
Mark my word's fellow follower's of Buddism, mark them now and place them into the great Buddism book as a prophecy. The Tommy Craig era WILL be a success and when it ends through Tommy's retirement (many years from now) we will celebrate Tommy as a true legend who found Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co a club of mediocrity, bricks and mortar and left it a palace of success, marble and silverware.
Obviously I would never put too much pressure on a manager with such a weight of expectation so early on in his reign so I will resist the urge to state that in an SPFL top division league thingmie without Hearts, Hibs (likely) and this new club Sevco, Tommy will be a real driving force in Scottish football and we mere mortals will be priveliged to enjoy it.
The Hawk will look back on his career and bookark the time he was "Tommy's captain" as the best time of his career, closely followed by meeting me (at some point, I will make sure of it) and winning that league cup and playing for Scotland and scoring for Scotland and other stuff.
With the right men in the right job's the God's themselves wouldnt dare us to fail!
Thank you mystic Meg

centre forward as captain ? hmmm never been a fan of that to be honest. Is Goodwin chucking playing ? If hes not he should remain as captain,he wont be "concentrating on coaching" during 90 mins.I suppose Thompson is the only candidate to replace him if hes moving into the dugout permanently but until then he should wear the armband
-
This club doesnt owe Steven Thompson a living,if hes got a petted lip im sure his wages would secure a more than adequate replacement
-
FFS
Point taken, will revert back to slaughtering him

On reflection, and having listened to his excellent interview on sky sports this afternoon,i am a lot less pessimistic about the new season than i was 24 hrs ago.He was ,at best, polite about Lennons contribution but i liked the language he used, talking about "moving things on " "next level" and such like .It sounded as if he felt hamstrung under Lennons tenure and i sensed excitement about the opportunity ahead.I know talk is cheap but 24hrs on ,i am content to have him in the hotseat and i am beginning to think we could have done a lot worse
-
What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say! Awful!
The boards position is understandable, but "lack of ambition and direction" spot on
Board is singular! "Our board is..."!!!
-
I want to see cheesy leave, but ive been flogging that horse for years. As to who we will keep ? will leave that nightmare to a certain Mr Craig,he is the "expert" apparently
-
So you didnt think of conducting any interviews ? "not after we talked to Tommy ,no" !!! Stunned
-
I just wish ,for once, that we were not the club for coaches/managers to learn their tradeSo how does one become a coach and manager.
Congratulations on their promotion.
-
Its not a management team, its two players with no coaching experience as coaches and one coach with no management experience as manager, that strikes me as a shambles, not a management teamHere we go again ........how about getting behind the new management team.
-
So,hello Tommy, congratulations on your appointment, twenty years past your sell by date and instead of getting the sack like your boss you somehow end up in the hotseat !! you must be killing yourself laughing.Looking forward to seeing you step up to the plate and taking the responsibility that comes with the managers mantle, something youve avoided throughout your career. Best wishes
-
If he is a recognised "expert" what is he doing at St Mirren ?I may be in a minority but I am reasonably pleased with this appointment. I would prefer TC above many other names given. TC has the Newcastle connections and good connections in the game. He is a recognised expert in youth development and coaching. And with 11 players out of contract he knows who to keep before they all vanish in the next week with other clubs sniffing about the likes of Goodwin etc. Teale will not play much I would imagine so a player-coach is a good role for him. And with Goody having a lot more responsibility he may curb the wildness in his game. And appartently Thommo just wants to concentrate in playing for a bit longer. Not only have we kept some stability we have probably kept some of our better players.
I, for one, are behind the new team. Bring on the new season (just not the now - I need a holiday)

Shut itUnlike most of contributors to this site, the Board have a comprehensive understanding detailed knowledge of where the strengths and weaknesses in the management of the Club have been in recent months. Clearly the results on the park have been less than satisfactory and it is generally recognised that with the squad of players we have, the team under performed. In the circumstances, the Board had little choice but to change things. The retention of TC and recognition given tho GT and JG along with the head of youth development indicates that the Board believes that a combination of their talents will preserve the strengths of the player development structure that has been seen to deliver results in recent seasons and hopefully bring an approach to the management of the first team that will improve results.
Sadly the Club simply does not have the funds to recruit someone with the experience and type of track record that should guarantee success. In the circumstances, appointing a group of known individuals from within, who they believe have what it takes to improve performances on the park, makes good sense.
Lets cut out the sniping and ill-informed criticism that fills many of the pages of this forum and start showing a bit of biased enthusiasm and support for those working to deliver the success we all want.

Absolutely gutted, never in my worst nightmares would i have imagined us ditching Lennon and replacing him with a pensioner, with a win percentage that makes Lennon look like Mourinho.Shame on you

If you seriously think Newton is a "promising" 22 year old you really need to follow another sport.I would take Stevenson and/or Craig in a heartbeat
