People can dress it up as fancy as they like but if we appoint a manager with a single figure win percentage it will be an absolute disgrace,in addition,i see players "liking" Craig as a negative
-
Not reallyI missed the final game due to being away at a stag do. After speaking to a few other buddies about who won the Supporters Clubs POY awards that are announced after the last home game of the season I was shocked to find out Thommo never won one of them.
I was shocked as this is a guy who has scored 16 goals this year and has the most assists of any in the squad in a struggling team. Of the sixteen all have been from open play. He also only missed one game all season and on one award got pipped by Marian Kello who has not been with us for the whole season.
The last time I was so perplexed by this was when Barron won so many a few years ago.
Let's hope when the official awards get handed out he will get the recognition he deserves for fantastic season.
Baffling????

Mkes sense on no front.Assistant to a sacked manager, now assistant to a player with zero experience.PatheticThe only thing I can think of is that Danny was the one making decisions.
Maybe Tommy had better ideas which Danny avoided using. I'm speculating of course.
Perhaps others are right suggesting someone like Thommo with TC as assistant. That would also make sense on many fronts.
-
We need a new broomWhat I was meaning was that they retain TC as first team coach and only bring in a Director of Football. They could supplement the coaching staff by appointing someone like Goodwin, Teale or Thompson on a Player/Assistant Coach role. Wouldn't likely be any more expensive than DL/TC structure... if anything might even be cheaper. Just trying to think of our boards previous penchant for promoting from within, coupled with tackling the biggest failing under Lennon... transfer dealings.

Tommy craig or barry ferguson,st mirren show even less ambition than normal shocker
-
If that happened i would be so turned on i might consider shagging my wifeExactly and if we lifted tomorrow's papers with Lambert set fot Saints we would be creaming ourselves on here
-
You seem to know rather a lot about a complete prickI know Ferguson is a total kunt but if we were offered any other ex international captain with 40 plus caps who was his country's record holder for euro appearances and had played in a european final in the recent past we would all be on here salivating. That said I still don't want him near our club but strip away the name and the credentials are impressive enough on paper.
-
There must be some truth in those odds,do you know any uninformed punter who would entertain such a mad bet ? I have that sinking feeling in my gutI really hope this is down to silly **** lumping money on and not because of any other reason.
-
All the pubs tend to mirror the team really, shite to averageWhat pubs are good in Paisley these days?
-
That reminds me,pubI wouldn't be too upset if we hired Barry Ferguson, he is young with a lot too prove. It's hard to judge him on the Blackpool job because there were a lot of problems there when he took over but he did manage to stay clear from relegation.
-
Barry Ferguson will not be getting my support from day one,he was a stopgap and a shite one at Blackpool, and doesnt deserve to be even mentioned in the same breath as the othersOch I wasn't sure who to vote for out of all of them so just plumped for Ian Murray. Whoever gets chosen by the Board I'll give them my support while they're in the job.
-
will be mortified if thommo gets it,we need a manager with the gravitas to look him,and a few others,in the eye ,and ask them why they only started to bother their arses when new contract time was getting close. We require a fearless c**t in the hotseat, preferably with experience at a higher level
-
yes, good to see him back in a cup game,if the mickey mouse team hes managing draw one of the big boys. Can see a giant killing on the cardsPretty much inevitable - not really got anything new to add to what's already been said.
I'll have mixed emotions when he eventually turns up at GHR as manager of another team.
until one of his inspiring half time team talks and shite substitutions put us on easy street
-
I have it from an A1 source that we wont be going down the promising/shite young manager route this time.Expect a "name" from England, how it affects player budget remains to be seen ,i havent been let in on the name
-
You are probably the kind of clown who will vote no in the independence vote because english politicians have said we will never survive on our own,Be your own man and stop listening to what wankers have to sayDid you read what Gary Locke said regarding Danny . have a wee look on the BBC. It goes something like even keeping St Mirren in the top league is a fantastic achievement.
-
If he was on £4.20 an hour i would tend to agree with youAs it goes, I suspect that is probably how some of the directors feel too.
I don't think this is a straightforward call by any manner of means. In saying that, reading Gilmour's interview - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27320720 - you have to feel that a but would sit quite nicely between his comments about the positives, and needing to look at the whole picture.
I feel for Danny this morning. Can't be good waiting to find out if you'll have a job after the end of the month.

Let us pray SG is not swayed by the pathetic individuals who only a few weeks ago were quite rightly calling for Lennons head ,but after a few acceptable results are hailing him as a master tactician .Taxi for Lennon and Craig
-
Danny Lennon's contract must be renewed. As does Tommy Craig's.
There is no doubt in my mind.
They gave me the greatest day in my St Mirren life on March 17th 2013.
JUST DO IT !
YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE.
New manager please
-
What? You can't have been a fan for long my friend. I could reel out a list of names of managers who I consider have been poorer than our current manager - Tommy Bryceland, David Hay, Alex Miller, Wilson Humphries, Tony Fitzpatrick, John Coughlan Jimmy Bone. It depends on what you consider as 'worse' but to state the worse in history requires some evidence to back that up. We are struggling and there is a lot wrong at this time with the team and how it is playing - both for players and management staff. We have no divine right to remain in the SPL and if we end up in the playoffs and lose out then sobeit - someone has to go down in any league. It may be that our players are not good enough to stay in this league or they may prove me and others wrong by giving themselves a kick up the arse and performing to the level we know they can play at. Nothing is resolved yet and Plastics, Killie and Ross Cunty are all bricking it and easily overtaken by one or two good results. The whole thing will be a battle of nerves and we have to play them all yet. Keep the faith but to state that Danny is the worse manager in our history is naive and unsubstantiated.
35 yrs give or take.Danny Lennon is the worst manager in our history.I just hope the board will never again consider a homeless wino for the managers job
-
The reason nothing will change prior to play offs is the same reason we have been saddled with the worst manager in our history 12 months past his sell by date-the bod know they can get away with it,its as simple as that .We have some of the least demanding "fans" in the world ,leaving the board home free to do what they want, when they want with a minimum of fuss .I dont take 50% of our fans seriously, dont expect Mr Gilmour to,and that includes one of his patronising little phone calls that make you feel "listened to" f**k off
-
Amazing how many are posting within 15 minutes of us losing yet were silent a couple of weeks ago?
Anyway, as Drew said, a real kick in the guts.
Hard to take after being 2-0 up, killer first goal for them changed the game.
Ach well, few drinks and the world will be a better place, oh, and a St Johnstone win.
I think the world would be a better place if you f**ked off ,anyone truly upset wouldnt be pulling fellow supporters up at this time
-
The fact that Djemba Djemba and Bahoken got injured sums up the incompetence of Lennon? Explain that one to me .
Everyone knows that players who are either past it or completely shite are more injury prone ,thats armchair manager basics,Its also no coincidence that the coffee served at the stadium has gone downhill since Lennon rocked up
-
And he should be benched til the end of the season, ostracised by his fellow players and given dogs abuse by the supporters.Time to bring back the good old days rather than the sycophantic arse licking of a player walking out on us
-
Flashes of occasional class and i mean occasional.I too believe that he will be playing in the premiership in a couple of years, the blue square one.I would say Judas/Traitor etc but ,to be honest, not in the least bit bothered or interested in Kenny Mc Lean, only bonus is the club who have stood by him every step of his professional career may recoup a tiny part of the money laid out on him.Pack your bags and f**k off
