  1. As far as I'm led to believe Stevie Mallan was ready to go at Xmas. St Mirren pleaded with him to stay and try to keep us in the championship. Then in the Summer we would let him go. Arguably he has been the major force in keeping us up so he's saved us a fortune in being relegated so 200/300k whilst not ideal, is better than what we could have got at Xmas.

  2. Lots of folk in both Scotland and England saying they were voting tory due to a dislike of either Corbyn or labour at a national level.
It's a local election which should be voted for based on candidates and their proposed actions to serve you and your community on the cooncil.
    Absolute wallopers

Yep. Agree. I voted for an SNP candidate in Grangemouth as she said she wanted to make the bin collections every 14 days instead of every 28 days. I wouldn't vote SNP in any other election.
  3. What a great day for the team and supporters yesterday, fantastic performance and result by both!
sadly the same canmot be said of the Smisa AGM, the committee members who spoke continually and tried to insist they have 'Special Executive Powers' that mean they neither need to inform nor consult with the membership  on anything, the constitution and governing legislation are clear, they MUST inform and consult.
Sadly they kept trying to convince themselves they didn't need to, and wouldn't in future involve the membership in the big decisions like loaning the club £15 k to fix the USH (which given the chairmans recent statement is fixed, but just not fixed for use in the winter...ffs) or indeed giving the club access to a further £50k of the memberships funds, with no security, interest or payback date.
what was astonishing to actually witness was the club chairman wading in and answering smisa members questions, that were put to the smisa committee, not him. If you were in any doubt over the loss of Smisa's independence then surely that doubt passed yesterday.
the most outrageous and cringeworthy embarrassing event yesterday was witnessing the committee chairman shutdown the AGM an hour early because they took umbrage at members asking questions. Yes the committee were visibly riled at the temerity of members asking questions. Many people I spoke to leaving and afterwards were embarrassed, upset and at a loss to why the committee did not want to wholeheartedly invite and answer questions.
and several members did not get the opportunity to ask their question as the meeting was brought to an abrupt end. The fallout from this shunning of the members democratic right to hold the committee to account has already manifested itself in members stating they will oppose all suggestions by the committee, and vote out anyone up for election next year.
How long is the behaviour in this way of the smisa committee sustainable? What is it they dont like about democracy?
would be interested to hear the views of anyone else who attended, and witnessed yesterday's embarrassing events.

If what you say is true, and I'm not for one minute suggesting otherwise, then it's a joke. It looks like we are all paying to keep the Chairman & Smisa committee in a wee club of their own. To suggest they don't need to consult me as what they do with my money is a joke. If I don't get a copy of the minutes emailed to me or posted then they can kiss my 25 quid a month good bye.
  4. There is no specific allocation for Easter Road. Currently it's as many as we can sell.
That might change but all the rumours circulating about us only having 900 tickets are a load of bollocks, that's why the tickets went straight to general sale.

We should sell plenty. It's either going to be a nerve wracking 90 minutes where we need points or it's going to be a party in Rose St after the match.
  5. Independence is inevitable because for a lot of Independence supporters they couldn't care less the state of the country is in, as long as Scotland is independent.

The only way to get rid of the under performing joke of an SNP government in Scotland might be to be independent and get shot of them that way.

  6. Lovely words and i can assure you they will be appreciated in the Magennis household. To have a family member pulling on the jersey every week fills us all with pride and the lovely thing about Kyle is that he is so level headed and will never be a billy big time(his big brother would not allow it).Hopefully Kyle will be part of the championship winning team next season. That really would be the dogs danglies.

My dad has came to watch most of the last 12 or so games this season after not going for years. In fact the only 2 he's missed are Raith (A) and Dumbarton (H) so he's been a lucky omen.

He says that young Kyle has the poise and ability to keep the ball under pressure like a young Souness. My dad and I honestly rate Kyle that highly. And with a family like yours Ian his feet will firmly be on the ground.

I'm so excited watching him play.
  7. Leaves the pub around 2.30. Takes you back from the ground as well, leaving from the back of the South Stand (behind the goal at the home end), so you'll need to be out the away end sharpish after the match.
Make a note of the number plate as well, a few pubs in the town run a similar service and the white coaches they use can look pretty similar. Sometimes they lay on a double decker for a big crowd though. Any idea of the numbers St Mirren will bring?

I was at the Falkirk shop yesterday (I stay in Grangemouth) to see about letting the drum in and the guy says that St Mirren told them to expect about 1,000 to travel through.
  8. I like the way the players do their final wee sprints in front of the bulk of the support at each away match then McGinn gets all the players to clap the fans before they run off. Gets the crowd going and is just another small aspect of the fans/players being closer than for a long time.

  9. Me and the wee man are getting the train to Falkirk High and walking down to Behind The Wall which is a great boozer in town for a pint and some good grub. They run a bus to the stadium apparently, can buy tickets behind the bar.

Not sure if this is still the case with the bus. Sportsters round the corner allow kids in if they have some food off the kids menu. There's about 75 screens in there and a couple of pool tables. That's where I tend to go to watch Scotland matches and before our games. A home game for me this weekend.
