  1. FT 1-1

Frantic stuff. Not too sure what to make of that to be honest. All things considered, not a bad point for us.

We started the second half similarly to how we ended the first, terribly. Came back into it then lost Flynn to injury. The talismanic Ilkay Durmus sticks the resulting free kick in the top corner, lovely stuff.

Then down the pitch again for a defensive mix up and a resultant stone wall penalty for Accies. Wide, lovely stuff.

Then a meaty ending with challenges flying in all over the place, and some... interesting refereeing decisions. Had a couple of half chances but didn’t do enough to win the game.

Take the point and move on.

  2. HT 0-1

Deserve to be further behind if anything, Hamilton well on top. Scored one and cracked the bar with another.

We haven’t been at the races at all, we are missing the focal point of Obika up front. Morais running around fine but not offering much. McGrath and Andreu have been poor.

Still in the game thankfully but we need changes and improvements second half if we are going to get anything.

  3. See 49:30 - Sportscene, 2019/20: 02/02/2020: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000f47j via @bbciplayer I think you're due a new pair of specs.

Yeah was great play by him to win the corner for our opening goal. Fantastic hold up and strength against a very experienced defender. Danny Mullen certainly couldn’t have done that [emoji28]

I can certainly see what the BBC reporter was talking about when praising his performance, he was key in both our goals. Expect him to start again on Wed.

  4. Interesting to read the comments about Obika. Now I wasn't at the game today but the BBC's Kheredine commented on him as follows:
"Jonathan Obika also led the line superbly for the visitors and was part of the reason they were able to play a lot of their football in the Hibs half. "

Yep I wasn’t there but can’t say I’m surprised. Been couple of instances where other managers and fans of opposing teams have complimented Obika this season.

It’s just a vocal minority of our fans that don’t like him. Thankfully our manager ignores them and I suspect and hope that he will continue to.

    FT 2-2

Decent result on the road and I’m sure one most of us would have taken pre match. Frustrating thing is being 2-0 up and not winning, but oh well. Wasn’t at the game but sounds like we were well worth a point.

We are certainly hard to beat, we’ve only lost twice in the last 9 games and those were to the two arse cheeks. We need to be turning draws to wins to really hoist ourselves safe though.

With Ross Co losing and Hamilton up against Celtic tomorrow it should mean we gain a point on those two. I think Hearts drawing with St Johnstone is good for us aswell, helps neither really. Not a bad weekend for us all in all if Accies lose.

  6. Surprised at the amount of people that think McGinn is better than Hodson. Not only is Lee younger than Paul but he’s had a more successful career.

Hodson has over 100 games at League 1 and Championship level in England and has played for Rangers. Paul played part time till he was 24 then went to Dundee, Chesterfield and Partick Thistle.

I think McGinn is a decent lower level Premiership full back, but I actually think Flynn has been an improvement on him recently.

Hodson for me is a clear step up from McGinn and if we are getting a fee for Paul along with getting Lee this is a great bit of business.

  7. Absolutely agree. But the Foundation of Light also uses partners like Springboard to deliver what they do. Springboard offer work education courses. I don't know enough about Kibble to know what they do but from the brief statement it sounds similar. Springboard don't hold a large share holding in Sunderland though.

    Welcome back Stu [emoji106]

    This thread though...
  8. I can't get my head around the negativity around this game. We were narrowly defeated, away from home, against the team second in the league, following a Deflection from McGinn tapped in by Defoe. Let's get real guys.

Truly one of the most bizarre threads I’ve ever read on here.

A 1-0 defeat at Ibrox is now seen as a terrible result by a section of our fans.

  9. FT 0-0

Pretty tough watch second half, very scrappy from both teams. We were hanging on a bit at the end there but overall a fair result and a decent point for us. 4 points from our 3 games against Aberdeen is a good return.

Thought the 2 centre halves Famewo and McCarthy did well. Considering neither have much experience and only met a few weeks ago they’re developing a good partnership. They dealt with Cosgrove no bother.

  10. HT 0-0

Quite entertaining stuff, pretty even game again. Hladky has had a few shaky moments but Aberdeen haven’t had a created much.

We’ve had the best two opportunities, Obika with a one on one off the inside of the post and Famewo heading a free kick straight into keepers arms at the end. Both should have scored.

Keep up that performance and we will take at least a point, 3 definitely available though.

  11. I get it now..! Doh...!
The board told us they write these games off and kick kids out of their seats to underline it...!

The manager told us he writes these games off and only tries in the last five minutes, even though we are beat anyway, and the opposition are playing poorly.!

And some fans tell us they write these games off and are happy to take a beating, even when it's obvious we could fight back..!

No wonder some call us St Liedown..!
