Oh no, Cockless is threatening legal action again! emoji23.png

On the same day he's accused me of being homophobic and a killer of babies too. All this from a weirdo who wanted to bring a camera to a juvenile football match.

He's not the kind of person I'd want representing my organisation but I guess some are a hell of a lot less fussy.

  2. Remember when Tony Fitzpatrick was manager and St Mirren were linked with all the big names.

I found this post from the past which might serve to remind people what it was like

Aswell as Blokhin, we were also after Yevtushenko and Demianenko...if memory serves me right.

There was a whole load of hoo ha about Robert Fleck at one stage.

We offered Brian Reid the same deal as Rangers, if stories I heard were true.

Wasn't the McInally deal scuppered because we played Aston Villa in a friendly and the Villa weren't too impressed with us either getting one of them sent off or one of us getting sent off. There was a whole load of stories about that deal falling through.

I remember when we signed Torfason...Record ran a story about an un-named blonde Scandinavian hitman from Rapid Vienna and I, along with all my mates, thought "F'N HELL Jan Aage Fjortoft!!!"

Fitzy was class though, he flew over a Belgian called Rudi Taeymans and then he went home after about a day saying he was homesick. He had half the Austrian World Cup team on trial, told the Polish captain he wasn't good enough, brought over a whole load of Germans and then signed Roddy Manley and Tom Black.

I fully expect this whole sorry affair to end with St Mirren appointing Allan McManus or Jamie Langfield as manager

Are you implying that there's anything wrong with dating a roommate after gender realignment surgery?

I ask as you do have history of homophobic posts. A example being when a politician had been convicted of having pornographic images on a laptop and you reported it as not just porn but gay porn.

Another in your long line of false allegations about me Cockles. I doubt thats going to help your career.

I've watched a bit of South African football during my travels there.  I would equate the level with top half of our Championship and bottom half of our Premiership.

South Africans are obsessed with English Football.

Yeah my cousin, who used to live in Sun City, used to send me videos and DVD's of some of the bigger matches out there, and I'd send him through recordings of the major cup finals over here. That's roughly where I would have placed it too. You get the odd decent talent emerging before moving on - usually to Europe. It may have improved since 2010, but the one thing that always used to strike me was just how bad the playing surface often was for these big matches though.

You are comparing abortion with breast implants so I am now bailing from this discussion. You can chat with Cornwall Saint.

It's a shame really because I'd like to discuss why you believe finance is the key deciding factor in everything but I simply can't waste my time with people who witter. Don't worry, you are not the only one on here doing that.

It's not about finance, it's about personal responsibility for the personal choices you are advocating. I would have thought that was clear.

As I've repeatedly said I have no strong opinion on abortion. A woman's choice? I can accept that despite having a fair degree of sympathy for the Pro Life argument that the foetus is a human life. I certainly feel that in the UK we allow abortions far too late into the pregnancy. I also feel that the celebrations seen on TV in Ireland after the vote were wholly distasteful and the subsequent pressure being put on Northern Ireland to follow the Republic of Ireland in legalising abortions - something there has never been a mandate for in Northern Ireland - is abhorrent.

This one is interesting at least he has managerial experience at quite a good level.

One year at Cape Town? Is that experience at a good level?

He's certainly an interesting person. He's played at the highest level for some superb managers. He's also played for Whitehill Welfare, and coached at Hibs. He lives in Edinburgh so you can see why the job would appeal to him more than managing a club thousands of miles away. And unlike some of the candidates being touted he does know the Scottish game.

Of course I extend it to euthanasia. Again, what business is it of yours what individuals choose to do with their own lives. People should be free to make that sort of choice and should not have to justify their decision to you, me or anyone else. Euthanasia should also not be limited to the terminally ill. Anyone should be free to elect to do it for whatever reason they choose providing they can find a willing doctor.

I am not commenting on your cosmetic surgery sentence because it bears no relevance to the point.

    Ofcourse its relevant.

Your argument is that people should be allowed to do whatever they want with their bodies. Yet there is a cost implication to us all.

The taxpayer picks up the tab when the NHS does a breast enhancement op to boost a womans confidence. The taxpayer picks up the tab when a woman who has ignored all the other contraceptive options decides to abort the life inside her. And I presume when you talk about getting a doctor to perform the euthanasia you mean it would be available on the NHS.

As I've said I have no strong views on the abortion topic but I do feel quite strongly that taxpayers shouldn't have to pick up the tab for people's lifestyle choices.

No your blind because you wanted Neilson in. So did I check my history where you will also read after he made commets about our budget I wrote he would not be our next manager. Budget is important but it' not everything if your good at your job.  Im tipping Oran as close as you will get to Jack Ross.

If the board is telling you that you need to achieve 4th - 6th in the Premiership this season, you are either going to have had to have inherited a rather special squad of players, or you are going to need the finances to make that goal a reality. If the budget doesn't match the ambition then as Neilson said in that interview, he'd be setting himself up for another fall. It's his career, of course he has to weigh up the expectations of his employers against the budget available to him. He'd be stupid not to as would anyone else looking to take on the job.

I'd agree with you on one thing though, I think Jack Ross would make a better PE teacher than his will manager of my club.

What is your point here Stu?

It's quite simple. I am agreeing with you. Neilson was offered an interview because the St Mirren board saw him as a strong candidate for the post.

If Lenziebud was correct and Jack Ross had warned the board off Neilson St Mirren wouldn't have offered Neilson an interview in the first place.

Neilson withdrew from the race for the job because of the unrealistic expectations of the St Mirren board, as put to him by Tony Fitzpatrick.

Neilson was never my choice for manager - as can be witnessed all through this topic. I was told John Kennedy would get the job - I still believe he will. However if anyone was to ever ask me my opinion on who the club should appoint I don't think I could be any clearer. Stephen Kenny has been my preferred choice for the St Mirren job every time it's come up since Gus McPherson left the club. This time round is no different. The only change is in the total number of honours Stephen Kenny has won. 17 now.

No matter how great Fergie is, he's not an expert in footwear. I think he advocates using old spice but not sure I'll take it as gospel it's the best.

There are many medical reported into injuries caused by the wearing of "bladed" footwear too. Fergie banned them outright during his time as manager at Manchester United but I like your claim that you know better than Fergie and all of the medical and sports science resources available to him at Manchester United, made in the very post after ridiculing me as knowing better than experts.

  11. 1 minute ago, linwood buddie said:

That's a bit obvious don't you think? They would select candidates that they feel would be able to do a decent job. That just makes your answer look a bit silly , its common sense.

    Absolutely. However you said this.

16 minutes ago, linwood buddie said:

If he's sent in his CV its only courtesy to offer the interview.

After I responded to Lenziebud saying St Mirren were still keen enough to offer him an interview.

    27 minutes ago, lenziebud said:

I'd say it was Jack Ross's input that done for Neilson ?

Wrong appointment and we have dodged a bullet.

Kearney or McIntrye unless there is some left field candidate

Thank you for finally agreeing with me. Jack Ross did not put the board off Neilson. The club had offered Neilson an interview. It was the unreasonable expectation and unrealistic target being set for the new manager that put Neilson off, rightly so if the budget wasn't sufficient to back it up.

Now I have always maintained that Stephen Kenny would be my pick for the job. However it seems that unless he sends in a CV there's no-one on the St Mirren board that thinks St Mirren are a bigger club than Dundalk and that an approach might be treated favourably. And out of those remaining it looks like John Kennedy is the only worthwhile candidate now.

Now the amateur pipe fitter knows more than the professional footballers when it comes to playing professional football on a hard, unforgiving surfaces. Professional medical persons advise players with ongoing problems NOT to play on these surfaces. But the amateur pipefitter knows better. A survey of professional footballers proves they don't like the surface and think its dangerous. BUT. The amateur pipefitter knows better. The playing surface is hard.  Due to that fact the ball bounces differently. Even on an uneven real grass surface the ball is cushioned when it hits the ground. This is why they talk about an unnatural bounce. The players play with the recommended footwear but there is no give when they turn or stop. Natural surfaces act almost like a tiny trampoline giving a little to help lessen the impact. But the amateur pipefitter knows best.

Do they? How many are playing with blades? Alex Ferguson has an issue with the use of blades. I think he perhaps knows a thing or two. Don't you?

Ned, will he ever offer evidence or proof.  His failure ever to do so actually does prove something though - he's a troll!

After typing "he's a troll" I starting singing  "do de do de do He's gonna get caught - just you wait'n see!  StuD "why is everybody always pickin' on me?"

Don't be so ridiculous. Do you record every conversation you've had just so you've got proof.

I don't need to provide proof. I couldn't care less if people believe me or not. The fact that Robbie Neilson has indeed pulled out of the race to become manager and has stated in the interview that Dibble posted that he had to weigh up board and fans expectations against the reality of the squad and the budget, corroborates what I have said.

FFS talk about  deflection. I know what a fact is and citing that our club is bigger than Dundalk has no bearing on you claiming you were told by someone of the reason RN has withdrawn from the interview process.  Any fact is based on actual evidence. You continually spout about being in the know and yet have absolutely nothing of substance than your own words to back up what you say.  If I make a statement of fact I will back it up with proof or provide evidence.

I believe the reason he opted out is that you and John Kennedy told him that the latter was to become the new manager as claimed by you of course.

Go on then, prove that I'm lying since that seems to be your "statement of fact"
