I'm definitely white and, back in the seventies, I was caught up in a barney in Paisley, (dragged into the furore, not directly involved), and the police dragged me into a van and beat the shit out of me.

I honestly don’t think of anyone in any other way than they’re a person, I don’t think about race/religion when dealing with people other than to respect their culture.

At worst he changed his opinion on something. The original comment you posted is over 10 years old and you've chosen to interpret it as contradicting the current protests. I don't believe it does as he says he belueves black history should always matter, same as white history does - not just for a month.
