Indeed, as you contribute lots of, erm, lots of nothing.

You fail to mention there's plenty of other contributors, focusing on two people who you have had the longest "huff" with in the history of the forum.

You hanker after the days you were someone on here but, as I've said, "spell check" has dispensed with your tedious interjection of correcting "typos" for quite some time.

    Great thread by the way.

Yet you still make a mess of your posts on a regular basis! 😝

It seems strange that Shulls 3 aliases ALL decided to have a wee look at my profile.

The highlighted bit above is you, all 4 of you, down to a TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.

What a complete mess you are!

You recently quoted one of my posts and said my post proved that the "NHS was in a mess with Care in the Community clearly not working" and then you post this complete nonsense?!

Going by other posts on here I'm clearly not the only one who thinks you're a complete clown.  You need help.  I don't think it's funny me saying that because I genuinely believe you need help.

How is the "nice family tea" going tonight by the way? :lol  Did Tesco have the Value Lager and Chocolate Eclairs in stock?!

I wonder if ANYONE believes this clown, along with Percy & SidMirren, arent Shull, apart from Shull?

I can't speak for others but I'm not Shull.

It is hilarious though reading your posts constantly claiming that I am Shull!  You're beyond paranoid, completely deluded and unstable.  It's actually very sad to be honest.

  4. Billy Thomson was before my time unfortunately but I've heard plenty about him and I did see him as an opponent of St. Mirren a few times.  I didn't know he was from Linwood, which I've just read on the article shared by Balmullo Bud above.

My thoughts are with his family, friends and former teammates.  As has been pointed out already, he was still young and him and Frank McGarvey are a loss.  Pelé must be forming a great side up above us.

    R.I.P.

  5. I wouldn't go to Ibrox or Parkhead even if I was given a free ticket.  Been to both grounds before, witnessing the Celtic 0-3 St. Mirren as a very small nipper.  I also attended two Scotland matches at the redeveloped Parkhead as well.

I go home matches against the two Glasgow vermin clubs but they're on my season ticket anyway plus we don't give them the two stands anymore which helps.

Well done and good luck to anyone going though.  I just don't want to put myself through all the hassle that comes with visiting those two grounds.

Straight to the top end of my all time favourite gigs!

    Paisley celebration!

Yvonne Lyon and Carol Laula at the Glad Cafè last night.

Carol sang her song tribute to the 71. 💔♥️💔

    Made me cry.

I was at a concert Carol Laula put on the Spiegeltent a few years ago.  It was billed as "Carol and Friends".  Tom Urie recited a poem by Robert Tannahill at it and Sir Tony Fitzpatrick and Gordon Scott were in attendance.  I think they raffled a signed jersey at it if I remember correctly.

A great night out, all about the best of Paisley and it's history.  I think she performed a couple of Gerry Rafferty songs too.

Interestingly, Metcalfe played it very low key and let Jobson take the spotlight... But vocally.. wow. Just as good as he ever was.

I attended a concert as part of the "Homecoming" celebrations in 2009.  The concert was lots of different Scottish artists such as The Skids, Midge Ure and loads of others.  Richard Jobson had a very powerful voice and that was the first I'd heard him sing live.  I can only imagine what his voice was like when younger.  I grew up knowing his name more for his work in films.

I'm an idiot - although I was shattered last night. However, the size of the first post is irrelevant, it's the size of the second post that matters and typing a single line in a minute is not such an incredible feat.

Still, we all learned something new about our friend, @Percy Veer. :)

I was shattered last night also.  According to some on here, I must be your alias!

This is an improvement on showing pictures of games from previous seasons on the front which meant often showing players no longer at the club.

    Shull,

I have to do a slight "climbdown"!

After viewing programme covers of various teams I've come to the conclusion that action pictures of previous fixtures between the two teams involved on the day (if there are photographs of previous encounters available) is the way ahead.

I'd rather it was from "yesteryear" though as opposed to one season ago.  For example, we play Hibernian at home on Saturday, the 4th of February, 2023.  For the front cover of the matchday programme, couldn't we have a picture of the same two teams that played on the same date in the past or if there isn't an exact same date, why not select a random picture from the 1960s/1970s/1980s/1990s?

I agree with most of what you say but the last paragraph I dont get .

I’d say most Buddies would be more than happy to buy a ticket to watch us play the teams you mention - I’d like to think if those fans had a season ticket they’d almost certainly attend.
I accept my opinion  may be a tad  biased in this matter as  I hate the scum and every bigoted piece of shit they stand for .

    all about opinions.

I think we're almost on the same page.

When we were at Love Street, we got to know all our fellow season ticket holders roundabout us.

When we moved to Greenhill Road, we got separated from the people we had sat beside for years!  Even an elderly friend of my family who sat beside us was put a few rows down from us and to the left!  We started noticing that the people around us at Greenhill Road wouldn't be there when it was a cup match.  For example, we played FC Edinburgh and we were surrounded by completely different people to what we had been used to since we moved to Greenhill Road.

When we were at Love Street, the people we sat beside every league game were beside us at the cup matches.

My best-friend started taking his daughter a few years ago.  They are season ticket holders for the Tony Fitzpatrick Family Stand and at the recent Scottish Cup match against Dundee, I noticed the family stand had a lot of empty seats compared to normal.  I sent a photo of my view of the family stand from the West Stand to my best-friend and he replied "Yip, a lot of regulars missing today I'm afraid! Probably to do with not having the game on the season ticket."

I wasn't having a go at anyone who didn't attend cup games or anyone on here.  I just wanted to make the point that all clubs have supporters who think "I think I'll give that game a miss because it's not on my season ticket and I'd have to pay extra money to attend."

The pics I posted were from the latest league game V Livvy - not a cup game so included in STs .
Livvy obviously not big enough to bother getting off your arse to support your team .

I understand where you're coming from, Callum, but why not compare the cup match Greenock Morton played at Parkhead with what the attendance against us might be as this thread is about the cup match we'll be playing them in?

Everyone and their Granny and Granny's dog know that fans of the Blue and Green Vermin Meanie Scum don't turn up at games against the so called "smaller", "diddy" teams.  It was ever thus and always will be whether it's a league game or cup game.

The reason I didn't quote any particular post when making my post was because every teams support "picks and chooses" which games to go to.  Myself, I don't go to many away matches as I used to.  I have other priorities in life and can't justify going to every single St. Mirren "away match".  These days I prefer to make a weekend of an away match and spend a bit of time in the city/town where St. Mirren are playing.  I won't ever go back to Ibrox to Parkhead, that's just my personal decision as I won't give them any money to sit in their hate filled stadiums.

If the supporters of the Green and Blue Vermin Meanie Scum "can't be bothered getting off their arse" for teams like us, Greenock Morton, Livingston etc., what does it say about the St. Mirren supporters who "can't be bothered to getting off their arse" for teams like Dundee, Partick Thistle, Stenhousemuir, Queens Park, Ayr United etc.?
