And if we win on Saturday ..............
I would think it would be pretty much as dire given the quality of the players and the atmosphere in the stadium these days.
-
Just another example of how dire the football and club are just now.
-
Players find their level. Marwood looked to have the right idea, and made good runs but didn't have that extra bit of pace or skill needed to get away from higher standard defenders. He looked increasingly huffy during 'warm ups', and wasn't giving the best impression latterly, but I've seen quite a few worse than him through the years.
I can't think of one worse player. I can think of a few just as bad maybe. He was an utter no hoper.
-
Even the Man City connections pants we got Plummer ( who was unlucky with the injury's) and Drury , The Vermin got Guidetti and Denayer.
I suspect they are a bit more able to contribute to wages than we are!
-
If you think - like I do - that he would have contributed anything then the stat of take away all Kenny's goals and see where we would have been is completely meaningless.
If it had been Marwood then it would have been zero goals.

Ive missed much of the last weeks news on signings etc but did see a bit of Dayton on tv and although he scored the winner, wasnt impressed and particularly as he couldnt even last 90 minutes - a bit like the other signing, Arquin - so wouldnt be disappointed if we dont take another chance this transfer window. The result against Thistle was heartening, the performance much less so. I thought Goodwin had a great game but Kenny McLean was again wasteful in front of goal, perhaps he will have more success at Aberdeen in a better team. I am also unsurprised at Gary Teale being kept on as manager until the season ends, hope it works out for him as well. Compared to a couple of weeks ago, things dont look quite so bad and its reassuring how bad the other two teams are.
Dayton hasn't played 90 mins this season, so it's a bit much expecting him to do it in his first game for a new club. Let's see what he's like after a few games and time spent training with his new team mates.
-
Mallan and McLear were always here and up for selection
We have still only signed one player
I make it 5 players out Caldwell,Marwood,Hughes,Drury and Plummer
Motherwell have signed 2 players today
Thommo is more or less gubbed,Teale retired and what happens if Cheesy or Goodwin pick up a bad injury or bans
The board have given up
You can't disregard Mallan and McLear as additions and then consider Hughes as a loss!
It's not free to develop youth players, they are as much an addition as Arquin.
-
Dayton has featured in 22 games for Oldham this season, but has yet to complete 90 mins. That's odd.
-
If Arquin did dive instead of shooting then we can get him the f**k out the club first thing Monday morning.
No.
-
4 red cards in our last 8 games :-(

YAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!

The same website that Marwood was 'advertising' on Twitter I believe.

Marwood. A total and utter waste of a jersey.

What a lot of sanctimonious pish I'm reading on here. From some I certainly expect better of.
WHAT HAPPENED TO "LET HE HATH NO SIN?"
I open this rant with an unequivocal condemnation of the act the man has been accused and convicted of and would be less than enthusiastic about Evans joining Saints but the witch-hunt and death threats from certain sections of the public are, frankly, disgusting.
My take on this situation in general is, and I know I won't be in the majority, that the guy did his time and, as such, is entitled to a fresh start. The fact he hasn't shown contrition is a complete red herring. He can't admit to anything as he is in the process of appealing his conviction and just may think himself innocent. I have taken the time to read the details of his trial and I was surprised that it appears that two incidents were alleged to have taken place during the period but only Evans' was deemed guilty. I find this strange and am not surprised he's appealing. In saying that, he was found guilty and that will remain the case unless or until he wins this appeal. This aside. No sane person thinks football players are true role models for living life. From the earliest who attained "superstar status" we've had Best through Gascoigne right up to the aforementioned Suarez with many in between. Freck. There was even a guy jailed for homicide allowed back onto the professional field of play.
There is no excuse for not taking no for an answer. Whether it be from a young lass to someone saying can you drive after all that alcohol. Surely the law states that you are allowed to get on with your chosen path after serving your time? I accept there are certain professions where it is totally unrealistic and unacceptable for a person convicted of certain acts due to there involvement with certain sectors but, footballers?
He's not served his time. He's out on release.
He's shown no remorse. In fact it appears he thinks what he did isn't rape. What a message to send out to other young men.
Sex offenders should not be employed by community based organisations. Especially ones involving impressionable young people. My opinion this one :-)
"Let he hath no sin"?? Not sure what you mean. Because I'm not perfect I cant despise rapists. Well...... sorry..... I do.
-
You reckon we should get our information from a convicted rapists own website which he edits?
I'm going to say no thanks.
As for the tweets, does she admit deliberately falsifying a rape claim against him to get money out of him?
I'm pretty sure she doesn't.
As for the person who tweeted that shite, Marwood would be better off concentrating on his football IMO rather than spamming the world with his pish.
So not only is Marwood utterly hopeless on the pitch he appears to be a moron off it. The sooner he gets to fck the better.
-
So what about all the people that have went to jail, come out and contributed to society in a positive manner?
You can't use an example like that in a comparison, that's quite poor taste TBH.
Your last sentence would be laughable, if it wasn't quite so appalling. Just to let you know, you're coming across a sympathiser...... and not for the victim.
-
Would make plenty of chances, something we're sorely lacking.

Sorry if this is seen as "picky" but, where is the bar menu?
Is it cans? Bottles? Pints?
How much?
- come on! - sell it (The concept) to me!
Events don't normally describe the drinks available. Most folk are happy just to know there's a bar.
Anyhow, you're not fooling anyone as you would never go to this as there's no bookies across the road for you to disappear to every 10 mins :-)

Was the best sustained period of forward play I've seen from us all season.
Not saying we deserved anything from the game or anything, but at least we never rolled over when the third went in.
Haha. Saints in "team does alright when other team takes foot off the pedal with the game won" shocker.
-
10 players in today's squad that are 21 years old and younger. TC has lost it.
-
Got a laugh at some of the mince being spouted here.
He was head and shoulders above any player currently at Saints bar ThommoGod.
-
I see Stéphane Bahonking scored the winner for Racing Club Strasbourg last night, against Red Star in the Championnat National, the 3rd tier of French football.
His 3rd goal of the season apparently.
Strasbourg dropped to the 5th tier in 2011 after they entered liquidation and have been working their way back up since then.
-
We're weak up front Tam. Marwood is struggling and is now injured again. Caldwell is only 20 and has started less than 10 games in his career. Ball is unfit. Reilly.... well, I'm not sure he is a forward.
All down to ThommoGod again.

Happy Birthday Stewart!

We didn't play as badly as that in the other 19 though. Midfield in particlar looked significantly poorer without Kenny. If anyone thinks Mallan is currently an able replacement they are delusional.
