  1. I was quoting another forum members view that Ross Counties defence were big and strong, like Celtic.

    Wasn't comparing skill.

Thanks for your input, you shouldnae have bothered. bye1.gif

Well then, you've re-iterated someone else's moronic comment, well done - doesn't make you any less clueless. Most defences are big and strong, apart from ours. I'm sure Adam's used to playing against guys bigger than him.

Attend some games and your knowledge of the situation may improve. Probably not though. bye1.gif

  2. Yesterdays starting line up was pretty much as good as we have. There were hysterical cries for Campbell to be played against big strong defenders which is surprising as he was almost invisible against Celtic in Paisley who had big strong defenders. 1eye.gif This hysteria seems to suggest he's the new Messi.

Yeah, Ross County's defence is comparable to Celtic's. Laughable comment.

  3.

In fairness the union is better for everyone.

Unless you are of course poor, uneducated, disabled, an immigrant, an asylum seeker, a child of any of that lot, unemployed, under employed, a young family trying to buy a house, a young mother trying to afford childcare, a woman trying to get on the board of a company, a woman trying to access equal pay, a council tenant with an unused room, a homosexual trying to get married to the person you love without interference from others...............oooh the list is endless.

Oh to be white and come from a rich family. Life must be great for them. Otherwise name 10 great things about the UK which we benefit from because TBH things look a bit shite from where I'm standing. Come on guys, make your case.

You don't need to have come from a rich family to be rich. An education and a brain are required though.

  4. Don't worry. There's no danger i'll be joining in with this garbage.

    Utterly embarrassing and pathetic.

Fux sake. Imagine folk wanting to create a bit of atmosphere at the game. Let's all sit down, sing nothing and wear neutral colours. That keep you happy, sorry, I mean miserable?

  5. One reason why I am willing to cut DL some slack is because it does look as though he is being forced or encouraged to work with a reduced budget: Harkins out, Mair out, possibly also as well as Grainger, Barron gone, Cornell gone... should equal some decent wages saved. Campbell, Wylde and Magennis are all young players with only Magennis coming with much SPL experience (and that is somewhat mixed). Here is hoping that there is some money left to bring in at least one defender!

Harkins - shouldn't have signed him and McGowan. DL's mistake.

Barron - would have been given a pay off. Debatable whether he should have been given a new contract in 2012, has always been injury prone.

Cornell - terrible keeper. DL's fault.

Wylde - previous contracts with Aberdeen, Bolton and Rangers. Scotland U21 player. Won't be cheap.

Campbell - talented young player with a good EPL club. Doubt he's cheap.

Magennis - International player (sort of!). Played with Cardiff and Aberdeen. I don't see why he would be cheap.

We've wasted so much money over the last 1.5 seasons......Caprice, Bahoken, Dillon, Grainger, Harkins/McGowan, Robertson, Mair, Adam, Imrie, Guy, Puri. It's coming back to bite us on the bum now!

  6. ... the alternative is to find out how much we would have kept on paying to have Imrie, Harkins, Grainger, Mair as under-utilised subs until their contracts expired while also continuing to pay for Barron to be never fit for selection.

The other alternative is not to continually sign players and then decide a few months later they're not good enough.

  7. I think some are missing the crux of this.

The lad ASKED to leave because HE felt he was being undervalued. This doesn't mean the Saint's coaches felt he wasn't good. Perhaps just not ready. If he had stayed and worked for it he might have played alongside the others who knuckled down and proved their worth.

Apart from McGinn, who's proved their worth?

  8. I don't think what McGowan did was ok in fact I think it was disgusting! I would not want him sacked over it. It is up to the courts to decide his fate not me or anyone on this forum?

My biggest 2 issues about the situation is. If he does go to jail the club still have to pay his wages! And the fact he only signed for a year means we could miss months of wages and at the end of the day get nothing?

No one here is going to "decide his fate". I've noticed quite a few folk coming out with that line. As citizens we are allowed an opinion though.

If, and that's a big if, he goes to jail, I think his contract would be terminated.

  9. Did you read my initial post on this thread? I think it was quite clear. I am defending nothing and no-one.

My subsequent posts are a counter to those who seem in an indecent haste to see McGowan sacked, jailed, and most likely strung up from a lamp-post at Paisley Cross.

A bit over dramatic. Some folk just think that when you're guilty of your second violent crime, it's time for some jail.

Maybe you should take your black and white glasses off for a second?

  10. This passage from the BBC report is interesting:

He had not guilty pleas accepted to kicking Special Constable Martine McNee on the body and acting in a threatening and abusing manner likely to cause fear and alarm.

So someone must have accused him of kicking a female officer and behaving in a threatening and abusive manner, yet they couldn't pin this on him. That's a curious one.

    .

Moreover, if he wasn't acting in a threatening and abusing manner when kicking out at the other officers, you have to wonder how much intent he had to genuinely cause harm. Did he think he was defending himself? I don't know, but it does introduce an interesting slant, no?

Not really, no. He's admitted kicking two policemen, one multiple times.

    .....

Big, bleeding heart liberal that I am. I think that act on it's own deserves jail time. The fact he's done it before, well, how can he defend that. Once is maybe a mistake, take the punishment, move on. Twice though........ come on. Really?

  11.

ST holders already get discounted admission, so why be divisive?  The discounted deal on two tickets over the festive period still does not equal the total discount that ST holders benefit from.

Couldn't disagree more. How many season ticket holders can attend every single game to get that discount? I've got a season ticket and won't make another home league game until late January because of something called life.

Season ticket holders keep this club alive, and get regularly screwed at the end of the season when games become £10 as they're meaningless. About time we got a tiny, little gesture like this.
